i can hand sketch concepts way faster by hand then immediately jumping to autocad. Being able to hand sketch quickly with some accuracy is very helpful in the engineering field. especially were i work. my coworkers can ask for a part to be built for a specific purpose and i can hand them a hand drawn concept of what would work best and what i envision before i leave there office or they leave mine. They can then have input, disagree, and collaborate with me before time is ever wasted on a auto cad drawing that may or may not get used. oh and im 22
sure, that also happens to me when i do some stuff for friends when im at their place and theres no pc around. but this would never happen on a desk, right next to a cad workstation, in an F1 environment, where the entire car is designed and assembled in cad. what would be the point?
like i said the point would be for quick dirty work being the first itiration of a design that before being put into autcad needs to be examined for the application for praticality , cost , ext. i do this for a living in fact im sitting at my cad "work station" lol right now.
About 5 years ago, this video inspired me to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. Ended up switching to mechatronic engineering but nevertheless I am about to graduate as a Mechatronic Engineer and continue studying towards a Masters degree in mechatronics with a focusing on digital twins and their implementation in the automotive industry. Every now and again I think of this video and it gives me such a good feeling. Knowing that through all the long hours and the sleepless are about to pay off. Thank you Red Bull :)
This makes you realize how literally everything we use today went through someone's head, designing, prototyping, manufacturing, wholesale (depending on what it is), and resale before it made it to our hands. 100s of years ago, people would be amazed at how much effort is put into a single tiny piece of insignificant metal. Edit: for those who are angry that I called it insignificant, I just chose the wrong word. I meant that it's something that nobody thinks about unless they're an engineer (or very curious person). if you ask what the most important part of a car is, people will say engine, tires, etc. rather than bolts. Sorry for the mixup.
Mikeology But a can of soda or some furniture didn't get made like this. Those were mass-produced in some factory that humans do not really put any effort in - The machines do. We built them but once they do their job we are just looking at them and repair them. A lot of things are mass-produced.

DudeNumberOnePlus I thought in the end the F1 car crashes and the bolt breaks and the story goes on until it decays
bogeyboy99 do they have to make a socket for that bolt
Ewan mcarthur nope it looks like the braket acts like a wrench for the bolt, so all you need is a socket for the nut.
lol, the mechanic is like "Oh fuck, this bolt is defective" *throws in trash*
*No bolts have been hurt in the making of this video*
Explains why a 10 cent drink cost 5 bucks.
Where are you buying five dollar red bull?
RedBull costs here 2 dollars and I live in Israel which is more expensive than any other country.. idk wtf are you talking about.
Lets just say the cheapest drink cost the most because they have to involve wakeboards and formula one car to sell the shit.
Örjan Lennström Red Bull is much much better than any other drink... Monster, XL or Rockstar are shit comparing to Red Bull... The only good energy drinks are NOS and Red Bull dude... Seriously. Also yea Red Bull got some great marketing team but you really enjoy those drinks while sporting, no matter which one
Point is, they make little to no money on the drink itself. Most of the revenues come from the media rights of the sponsored events.
This video showing the precision on even the smallest part shows the reason is why I aim to work for an F1 team when I'm older.
thats just NUTS
No.
Avenged Fate screw you..
Awkward moment you know the bolt has achieved more in life than you.
jacquessteventon haha
Or costs more than your paycheck
"i will just make a sketch of this bolt to my notebook before i do it in cad" - said no engineer ever.
...younger than 60
i can hand sketch concepts way faster by hand then immediately jumping to autocad.
"Look how cool lajoosh is with his big brain" -said no one ever. go put another subwoofer in your shit car.
like i said the point would be for quick dirty work being the first itiration of a design that before being put into autcad needs to be examined for the application for praticality , cost , ext. i do this for a living in fact im sitting at my cad "work station" lol right now.
They should play this in entry level engineering courses
Landon Sugar when i feel im losing myself while studying, i'll watch this video now
This makes you realize how literally everything we use today went through someone's head, designing, prototyping, manufacturing, wholesale (depending on what it is), and resale before it made it to our hands.
Lay off the kush, bruh
S Almanza unepamuromo...thats a native african language for u are a smartass...
S Almanza Hahaha that is some funny ass shyt right there yo!
Mikeology 100 years ago people put more work into designing an insignificant piece of metal. Cough cough *carnagie's steel workers* cough cough
Mikeology But a can of soda or some furniture didn't get made like this. Those were mass-produced in some factory that humans do not really put any effort in - The machines do. We built them but once they do their job we are just looking at them and repair them. A lot of things are mass-produced.

This is so beautiful......I have looked at this for 5 hours now
In all seriousness, that is the most elegant composition of video clips and audio files. I would love to see the project sequence on that one! Music selection and sound effects were on point! Opening text animation in the clouds, Frame block at 00:48, Drone at 01:42, Camera exchange at 01:48.
Other People: Waiting in long lines to talk to Max, Daniel, or Christian Horner...
Me: How do I talk to the editing team? Seriously.....
It's funny how this jive comment got lost so easily, funny bc you're explaining why it has so many views.
You don't need bolts.
Because weight reduction bro
Brandon Gao zip ties do the job
DJCarrotKing it was a joke
get carbon bolts lol idek if that's a thing
Brandon Gao Super glue, mate. 😏
Brandon Gao z
Too bad, you're outside working on your car, you drop a bolt and can't find it anywhere.
That would be a good parody of this video with maybe the bolt traveling to different parts of the world
or completely crashing the car in turn 1
you drop a $400 bolt and have to scrap it because it has been dropped.
Its call a mechanics bermuda
NASCAR Pit Crew Member: I lost the lugnut.
NASCAR Pit Crew Chief: We don't have time for this, pretend your screwing one in.
Race Marshal: U wot m8?
FOX: Oh my gosh, Keselowski just ran over a Race Marshal!

Joey Logano: Lol free win.
Denny Hamlin: Ikr, second place.
Kurt Busch: I should really switch to the HAAS formula 1 team man.
Fernando Alonso: I'm leaving Formula 1, but I want to do Indycar. Sorry.
Formula E: No plz join us.
Indycar: (Makes electric version of the sport)
Formula 1: Oh, you even stole the Halo and put it on your Indy-Electric cars. Disappointing you Americans.
Ford: You couldn't even win Le Mans GTE PRO.
Ferrari: Shut Up.
NASCAR Pit Crew Member: Oh, hey. I found the lugnut. Nvm.
*Screws lugnut*
Good to go.
Jeremy Clarkson: Is this really how Americans fill up their seats at NASCAR? Take some notes Forumla 1!
watching this little bolt’s journey to its purpose is so comforting...okay red bull, you got me with your humanization of a little part
What about RB12-FS00663-02 's children
RB12-FR047646536338-4U
this one
Imagine that tiny bolt makes that supercar move?
Incredible!
I'm disappointed; I was sure the last scene would have been the bolt breaking and the car spearing into a fence.
Same
Redbull, let the haters hate your company is very famous with many sports and what you do inspires others, I hope you win the 2021 Formula 1 constructos and drivers championship.
Maybe if they were to use Usain Bolts the car would be lighter and faster.
badumm ts
No.
evo tme No? Usain bolts are wayy lighter than those bolts. And they're stronger too, just a bit more expensive but i bet it could cut a second or two
why would you want Bolt bolts bolt?
crest video **Ba dum tss**
Better title: ''Life of a bolt that costs more than average car "
I’m gonna have a goodnight sleep tonight.
2am: life of a bolt
This video is incredibly beautiful, and I think it has a deeper meaning. I think it analogises humanity and the world. No matter if you are a bolt, or an engine block, you are part of something much bigger, and if any of you go, the car won't function.
Now this was a great video.
You can’t tell me this guy looked at the bolt through a microscope, went “yep. It’s got grooves” and just passed it on to the next place.
Makin sure they are evenly spaced
That guy is me and I was inspecting the pitch of the thread on the shadow graph and then the material hardness on the other machine.

That was really well done.
