I loved that they casually revealed that Mitch was gay at the end, without it being a big deal. Neil was likely trying to tell Courtney this in the car, when her flirting clearly wasn't working.
I laughed so hard when I saw it. Did not see it coming
Yeah but unnecessary for a kids movie though
He is the first ever gay cartoon character that comes out
Came to comment this, I can't believe a sin wasn't removed for it
@joshuafields2660 why? Gay people exist, why do kids not need to know this?
Norman's ringtone was the Halloween theme not Friday the 13th
You beat me 2 it lol
Don’t correct them, it’s intentional to get you to interact in the comments
He earned his own sin there
@salinium You overestimate their intelligence. Assuming they don't have to try and rush these at this point, because it's almost Halloween.
@@Rurik_LuciYou apparently overestimate your own intelligence, there, redditor. He’s gone on record multiple times as saying he does this, plus, that would be a ridiculous thing for THIS channel to miss. Hook, line, and sinker. You’re dinner.
The scariest part of the entire movie is that accusing a child of being a witch and them executing them is DEFINITELY something that happened during that time period. I love this movie and I'm glad to see more people reacting to it!
Just how many children were murdered for being a witch? Names and dates please.....
@@Darthalas u have access to google pookie bear
@@Darthalas Dorcas Good, four-year-old daughter of Sarah Good, became the first child to be accused of witchcraft when three of the girls complained that they were bitten by the specter of Dorcas.
Dorothy and her mother Sarah were accused of practicing witchcraft in Salem at the beginning of the Salem witch trials in 1692. Only four years old at the time, she was interrogated by the local magistrates, confessed to being a witch and purportedly claimed she had seen her mother consorting with the deviln
Dorothy Good
Perhaps the most devastating story from the Salem witchcraft trials is that of Dorothy Good, the youngest person to be arrested and jailed in 1692.
@@benjaminwalters2188 at no point in time is it mentioned that she was executed, and most people call a " 4-year-old biting them repeatedly like an animal" deranged or crazy so that's not surprising that she was locked away while her guardians were also locked away. Interestingly enough she was released and there's nothing else of note....
Post evidence of children being accused of being witches and then being executed... Most of the witch accusations and executions have been proven false and not actually historically accurate here in the United States... Burning at the stake was a European thing, not an American thing, and the comment that I was replying to stated that children were being accused of being witches and executed during that time period like it was a normal thing..... This is BS and misinformation....
@Darthalas Have you ever heard of the Salem witch trials??
Not giving this movie a sin off for the animation is a sin in itself
I feel like every stop motion movie deserves a sin off
fr@@hudsonruff9208
@@hudsonruff9208 agreed.
I’m surprised we didn’t get a reading from the Necronomicon for the incorrect quotes person
especially the entire last sequence fighting Aggie, that still brings chills to me despite being a stop motion movie I first watched ten years or so ago
Hearing Jeremy’s laugh during the Mom’s aerobics dvd scene is always a joy to hear 😂
9:38 this is when it happens
Probably the meaning is that, executing someone for presumed evil, based on superstitions, ends up creating real evil that has the right to revenge .
Paranorman is one of the most INCREDIBLE animated films I’ve ever seen 🙂 I love its tackling of deep themes like fear, love, bullying, prejudice, acceptance, and moving on. Kubo and the Two Strings is another incredible film this studio did and the film is also PHENOMENAL! Laika Studios is beyond words with their creations 🙂
I dont know how to tell tou this but that smily face is seen as either you being sarcastic or annoyed 😭 maybe use 😊 or 😄. I honestly thought you were secretly somehow shitting on the movie lol
@@ian6882So a basic smiley face is now seen as sarcastic? Uh…ok.
omg I completely forgot about Kubo and the Two Strings! thanks for the reminder!
@@fd3 always been sarcastic
As a person who saw this as a kid, I don't remember this movie having this many adult wording, jokes, and how dark the theme is. My poor parents have to endure me watching the same movie over and over again and somehow didn't say anything to me about it lmao
The commitment to Giving Mitch a Hat is top tier use of editing this video well done.
7:27 You're getting a sin for calling it a "Friday the 13th" ringtone when it's clearly the theme from "Halloween."
thank you! someone said it...
@@hisuiantyplosionthey do this as comment bait so they get more view bc it'll put in ppls.feed
Came looking for someone calling this out
Eventually you will understand the obvious trigger jokes they use to make you comment and fuel the algorithm.
This and Coraline are Halloween Gems. And Norman’s dad’s whole character is worth 100 sins
The part where Courtney asks Mitch to the movies and Mitch responds that she would like his boyfriend, he loves chick flicks should have been a sin off
Why?
@@Just4Fun-Zocker because it's funny
@@Just4Fun-Zocker Why not?
Should have taken a sin off for the scene of the zombies rising from their graves. That sequence took the animators over a year to do and it only lasts around thirty seconds! It was mostly due to the dirt and the clumps of it that had to appear to be flying everywhere as the zombies burst up from the ground. Because dirt can't just float there of course while the animators move a character slightly, and then take a picture, move a character slightly and then take a picture, etc. the bits of dirt had to be put on wires and moved ever so slightly with each frame. This meant that if the animators went to move a character for the next frame of film and they accidently brushed a finger against one of the pieces of dirt, moving it out of position, they had to scrap everything they had just gotten AND START THE SCENE ALL OVER AGAIN!
One of the best animated films of 2012.
Indeed!
Agreed, I watch it almost every Halloween!
@@trinaq it’s a classic
Definitely!!!
Sooooo underrated
My theory is that it was a relative of agitha who read from the book first, probably her mother, and then the task was passed down through to the next child who could talk to ghosts and so on through the generations of the family
I thought I remembered a scene where Norman's last name was later shown to be the same as Agatha's.
@@BelcherKendric-vn7ke agatha's last name is prenderghast, same as norman's uncle
The random hats on Mitch and the sin voting options was a nice and hilarious addition!
But dont think we didnt notice you intentionally claiming that ringtone was Friday The 13th's theme when it was clearly Halloween's theme just so horror nerds like me will comment to point it out and thus increase this video's engagement. ;D
Pot. Black. Calling. Kettle.
Keeping hats on Mitch throughout this video made me laugh more than it should have
7:29 Was this meant to be a joke, or did you actually not know this was the Halloween theme?
😂😂😂
i was looking for a comment like this XD
A bigger sin than any in the movie
I was gonna say....
Comment bait to help the algorithm. Learn how RUclips works bud. They've told people this multiple times lol
@@doomdoomx So, a joke. Got it 👍
😄😄
“Don’t make me throw this hummus. It’s spicy!”
You don’t mess with nobody’s hummus.
7:33
1. As pointed out in another comment, the ringtone is Halloween.
2. Technically Jason was undead until he was killed and buried. He then became a zombie after he was dug up and stabbed by a metal pole that got struck by lightning. Then there was the movie he was hell slug, returned to just being undead and finally part android in Jason X.
13:28 The fact this movie was able to go this far was definitely worth a sin off.
9:38 I love the way he just bursts into laughter with that freeze frame
“Wait, is Frankenstein’s Monster a type of zombie?”
His category is Flesh Golem. Technically he’s a cyborg.
Do the bolts in his head count towards making him a cyborg? Or is there more machinery I don't know about?
Hmm neat
Wait really
Semantics. May as well have said that he has +5 Strength and -3 Ninja skills.
@@nopenopenope131 That's not really semantics as it refers to how he was created. Frankenstein's monster is a patchwork of various body parts from multiple cadavers brought to life using a mix of vague pseudo-science and mysticism. That's a bit of a departure from a traditional zombie which is simply a singular re-animated corpse which may or may not retain their soul and/or memories prior to dying.
Legit, I knew this movie what somewhat dark, but not THAT dark. It's impressive actually.
All laika films are dark minus Missing Link
I love the commitment to the hat bit lol, also the silly ones were perfect.
"Using misinformation to incite a mob to break into a government building" HAHA Genius
No sin off for Mitch's reveal being one of the funniest gags in the movie? For shame.
This movie is criminally underrated.
"Thinking a kid knows who she is before have a chance to grow up" - I'm just gonna quote that here and see how well it ages.
What
It already hasn't. Just look at kids thinking they're magically the opposite sex because they aren't a walking sterotype of "gender"
What
Before have a chance to grow up? I feel like that sentence doesn't sound right
9:36 This scene made me laugh so hard when I first saw the movie. And yes,I did laugh just like that lol
I audibly gasped when I saw what movie they were doing today
Ikr it was a masterpiece
@@LemonEditsAndReviews is a child allowed to watch that
@@johnrinella9267 I'm pretty sure a bit spooky tho
i love Mitch. i love every scene with him, especially when he can't remember Norman's sister's name. and of course his last lines in the movie.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Been wanting you to cover it for years now.
Norman's sister was my favourite for no reason whatsoever
I love how mitch's hat changes every scene
I saw the hummus scene and immediately thought about the scene in Buffy where Oz says they should attack the mayor with hummus lol.
Nothing about the jock reveal as to why he never gane Norman's sister the time of day? That deserved a sin off for him not being a stereotype alone.
18:13 I thought the tree was going to say, "I'd like to talk to you about your car's extended warranty."
I’m disappointed there was no “I see dead people” reference
I'm still not over the fact you guys could have released a video in Thursday the 12th this month and didn't do a Friday the 13th sequel.
not giving the movie a sin off for the hilarious "my boyfriend loves chick flicks" is a sin itself
This movie is such an underrated gem.
The fact he put another hat on the boys head 🤣. And I love Neverending Story inserts. 💜
Respect to Cinemasins for covering this movie
Paranorman was that simple movie that o grew up with. I’m glad to watch a stranger on the internet tear into it!
At the end, I was hoping the sound edit of the evil tree would be “Tree!? I am no tree! I am an ent!”
The fact that they continued to add a hat to the older brother's head is so funny to me 🤣
I love how he called his ringtone the Friday the 13th theme and not the Halloween theme
I loved the fact you put a hat on Mitch in all his scenes.♥♥
7:27
I thought that was the theme for Halloween, not Friday the 13th. Am I mistaken?
Wait, this is actually a movie and not a fever dream I had after watching monster house?
I remember being very young when this movie came out. The play scene scared me so much I had to leave the theater.
if the sensor isn't tripped by the falling product the machine will spin until the product drops, also the product being so far back someone's been stealing from that machine
13:02 "Using misinformation to incite a mob to break into a government building."
Love that the hat keeps changing on Jock Dude.
7:28 You guys get a sin for calling the Halloween theme the Friday 13th theme
The hat on the jock bit was my favorite part of this video
0:35 The term "flesh-golem" has been coined to describe what Frankenstein's Monster is.
I remember back in the day watching this stop motion animation cartoon called Vincent.
And with this, you've tackled all of Laika's films thus far.
Man I love this movie, you guys had great insights on it, too.
I grew up with this movie! Thanks for showing it to the world :)
It’s about time you did this one
7:26 giving you a sin for calling that ringtone a Friday the 13th ringtone when it's actually the Halloween theme ringtone
Had waited for this forever
TFS Alucard: "HEY KIDS WANNA SEE A DEAD BODY?!"
Everyone in ParaNorman: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The hats on the kid....... I almost chocked laughing
Love the 'Plant vs. Zombies' shout-out! 😂
7:27 - 7:29 Halloween theme song plays. But he says it's the Friday the 13th theme song! I love it! 😂😂😂
Loved the running gag with the hat.
I absolutely love the 'Norman's Walk' music.
What a throwback of a film, I havent seen or heard about this in years.
love your vids hope yıu get 10mil soon
7:26 isn’t that the Halloween theme not Friday 13?
This movie is so beautiful 💓 I always cry at the end
Did we really need to bring Rock Biter into this and rip the hearts out of every 80s kid that watches the video? That monologue was the most gut wrenching part of that movie...
FINALLY!!! Why has it taken so long to get to this!?
Mitch's hats
I love every scene with the brother has a hat 😂
I absolutely love the dedication to putting a hat on muscly man flat head.
16:20, FINALLY someone said it. Amazing film, but the one aspect I never liked was they went hard with the victim blaming towards the end.
Literally just watched this with the family last night
I can NOT believe you didnt remove a sin for the deltoids scene! That was the funniest bit!
This movie is pretty funny with no context
This is my favorite movie next to bottoms and my best friend is a vampire. I saw it when I was seven and fell in love with it.
I remember my mom got me this for my 7th birthday. It was one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten.
7:28 that's not Friday the 13th, that's the Halloween theme.
The repetition of placing the hat on his head is hilarious
9:26 You really thought you could make a PVZ reference and get away with it, didn’t you?
Well yes. Yes you did.
Loved the pvz reference you made
Loving the nod to 'Death becomes her' in the outtakes
The ramdom hats on the flat guys head was funny
11:43 I think it’s solely Jeremy‘s delivery of saying the 21st-century is what makes that get me😝😝😝
Saying the ringtone was the song to Friday the 13th when it is in fact the Halloween theme song is a sin. Don’t let Michael or Jason hear you mix up their songs.
Sinning you for getting the Halloween theme confused with Friday the 13th!
The hat gag is hilarious
Friday the 13th phone music? That was halloween. And Michael not Jason. You slippin. A million sins!
Missed sin at 13:10
How does a teddy bear break through glass? Sure, it's on fire, but fire doesn't really add any mass to the bear.
This movie is classic🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
9:25, I love your Plants vs Zombies referance, Its one of my favorite videogames!
