- Sam Peng is one of Bangkok's largest fabric market. if you want to source fabric in Bangkok this is the best market to do your fabric shopping at. Sampeng Market is located near Chinatown in Bangkok but is the clear hub for any fabric shopping you might need.
I've shopped for fabric all over Asia and the US and in my opinion, Sam Peng is hands down the best fabric market to hit up. And I think that is saying something considering Bangkok, Thailand is probably the best city to shop for fabric in the world.

Hands down this is one of the best markets for fabric sourcing in Bangkok. They pretty much have everything from high-end fabrics to lower-end synthetics. I could spend all day there going between all the different vendors.

I bet one could find a polyester and/or cotton material to use as a lining for a drapery fabric such as a Thai silk. Of course, silk might be for the more affluent buyers. Thanks for sharing.
I would not source silk at Sam Peng, but poly for sure, rayon as well. just have to find the longer bolts for drapery.
There are some really good food vendors in that market as well. they set up just along the path in the middle of the market. I almost always get friend spring rolls when I am there.
I always get the Chinese style roasted chestnuts when I am at the market, it's one of my favorite snacks.

Can you recommend a funky retailer for some mens clothing in Bangkok. I'm finally back in October and need some colourful clothes. Greens Reds etc
If you are looking for casual wear my suggestion is to check two locations. First would be Siam Sq, check out the vendors at Siam Sq One and Lido, there are some very funky independent retailers there with a unique selection of color and style selections.
My next suggestion for a location is Terminal 21, if you get up to the third floor (I think its the third, might be the 4th but you will know it when you see it) one side is dominated by small independent vendors, you will find some very cool and unique styles in those shops as well and there are a lot of mens options.
if you want to find some colorful tees without prints I suggest checking out a Thai brand called Double Goose, they have an online shop on Shopee, they make excellent quality tees that feel great and they have a large selections of great vibrant colors. if you ever see me in a video wearing a black tee with no graphic on it, that is a Double Goose shirt. There sizing is very Thai tho. I wear a 6XL in their shirts. lol

There are many prints, but just about all the fabric is Thai, some of it premium and some of it not.
