Hello Serg! Vespa are mainly used for delivery for these stores because it can do heavy lifting items. For example, one of the vespa was filmed carrying a few rows of fabrics.
Sampheng district was concentrated with textile wholesale stores so vespa are main delivery vehicles of choice for every stores for more than 40 years.
Yes, we are very close to the little India district. There are many garment shops there and I have some very many vespers running around. I think another reason is because the two-stroke motor has more torque, so he can carry heavy your loads.
1. A police officer you saw. They are not police officers, but officers at the municipality. They are in charge of keeping public spaces tidy and taking care of sidewalk trade. They only catch people who sell things in excess of the area and sell things on the sidewalk. and sales on public areas He seized and confiscated all the things that were for sale.
2. The reason why this area is full of Vespa In fact, besides Chinese people, near this market is a large fabric wholesale market called Phahurat or Little India. The market is full of people from India and there are many Indian restaurants. And Vespa has a factory in India. Therefore, Vespa is a very popular model in India. It has both durability and strength. People in that area will use Vespa for carrying large amounts of things, especially fabrics.
3. All this area is called Old City. This area will be the center of all trade and wholesale markets such as Sampeng is a general wholesale market. Near this market is a large fabric wholesale market called Phahurat. The wholesale market for audio and electronic equipment is called Ban Mo, the wholesale market for gadgets for phones and computers is called Suea Pa Market, the wholesale market for motorcycle and car parts is called Worachak and Klong Thom, whole sale tire is call Wong Wian 22 or the large flower wholesale market open 24 hours. Pak Khlong Talad 😁😁🙏🙏
Yes, I noticed that the authorities were mainly looking at peoples merchandise, and if it was in the way of people walking by. I’ve been to Little India, and there’s very many Vespa’s there as well. It’s just so neat to see so many of them still running around.
@@LifewithSerg The vespa around there is over 20-30 years old. In addition to being able to run, it can carry things that are 2-3 times bigger than the Vespa on a daily basis.🤣🤣
Yep. 2 stroke engines have more torque.

We were staying in China town wish I seen your video much better than any other market by price. ❤
I think, now you know Bangkok more than some Thai people. Excellence job ❤❤❤
Ha ha. Thanks!
My aunt had run a cloth & sewing accessories shop in Lat Phrao, and she's bought her supplies from Sam Pheng for over 20 years. Back when I was a kid I have been following her to Sam Pheng sometimes and it was so boring for a kid like me X-D. This place was almost never changed.
Wow. That’s so cool to know. Yeah I could tell this has been around for a long time.
Hi did u see a place where they sold thai traditional crown 👑
@@vichetthim5223 If you want to buy clothes, fabrics, crowns, accessories related to Thai culture. You should go to Phahurat. This is a big source of Thailand. We export these products to neighboring countries that are popular with Thai products, such as Cambodia.
I think i've cracked the code on why they use the vespas... the old shape of the vespas they are able to make custom racks for carrying boxes / freight. I noticed right at the end of your video.. loving the content mate :)
Yeah they are super durable and the 2 stroke motors have way more torque than 4-stroke motors. So this is likely the reason, as they can carry heavier loads with the 2 stroke engines.
Hey Serg , Really enjoyed the video . Awesome hat pick up … 👍
I need to go back and buy more stuff. Lollll
I'm coming here next week😃 Thank you for showing this place 😄
Hope you enjoy it!
Wow, awesome video. There are so many things. 🥳🥳
There are so many different things there!
Thanks for this video, I'm currently on Thailand and for sure I will go here
Hope you enjoy it!
I used to come here to buy airsoft guns and other toys. Very cool market. I remember you said you were a former toy dealer, there's a place called Mega Plaza that is like 6 floors of collectible toys
Yes, I have been to Mega Plaza. Several times. Very cool place.
Nice video Serg! The size and density of that market is astounding!
I think I only covered about half the market. At best. Will def go back.
Sampeng is for wholesale and costly for retail.
Forr retail head to pratunam market evening.from 5 to 11 or 1159pm. Best price but always bargain or ask for discount. Check for yourself.
Yes, I need to go to that market. People keep mentioning it to me.
Wow what a place for a bargain. Loved seeing the old Vespas.
Yes, the Vespas were such a delight for me as well!
Great helpful video. Like the Vespas! My next visit to Chinatown
Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
You are absolutely right. No haggling on price, it’s too reasonable ♥️.
Yep!
Good morning Serg, keep well, thank you for good vdos.
More coming later today.
I love shopping in Bangkok, but usually need a taxi with heavy/bulky items. But it's not bad from my usual hotel using the blue line.
Thank you for this useful tip, I'll visit next time I'm there.
Yeah easy to get to on MRT. Do check it out.
Wow!! This market is amazing. I agree with you no need to bargain. I think the price is fixed. Thanks so much for your excellent vdo.😊😊😊
You are so welcome!
OMG, I love this kind of market! I think I will never be able to visit there, but I am travelling with you!
It was fabulous. There is another market nearby that I will go to soon.
Added that on our list to check out for next time we're over, thanks for sharing that mate! 🙏
There’s a huge discount if you buy three or more. But I don’t need three of the same thing. Hope you enjoy.
@@LifewithSerg Yeah no need, what I noticed is they have a few unique items we haven't seen around Bangkok much at all, like the Winnie the Pooh stuff, Dee loves all that... 🤣
Oh yeah. And I probably only showed 20% of the whole market because I didn’t wander down any of the side streets.
@@LifewithSerg 😯😯😯
Got to give this market a visit next trip.
think i need a few hours in there, so much goodies available and shopping in Bangkok is always fun with those thai smiles 👍
I definitely didn’t spend enough time in there. I’m going to go back and spend at least 2 to 3 hours as there’s just so much stuff.
So true, we on holidays and we still rush around but there so much to see in these markets that you got to set a time limit.
i give around 2 hours when exploring the likes of bobae or mbk and always give patunahm a bit longer so somehow next trip got to fit a visit to samphreng market. 🙏
This is a great little video. I've wanted to come to Thailand for the longest time now. I can't believe the magnitude of items in those markets or how many stalls are set up! Blows my mind! Its like a little village. I'd love to see a jewelry store that sells real gold rings and pendants on chain's. I love seeing what each country has to share with the world.
You can definitely find anything here.
Oh man, I wish I would have seen this shop before leaving. Love that Pepsi hat.
Yah man it’s got that total vintage look. My other one I got at another market is crap. Lol
Bargain with little prices is so stupid, I agree with you.
Yes just pay.
You get some RUclipsrs who go to Cambodia, which is worse off than Thailand and they bargain to get a couple of dollars off.
Hi Serg..Very Good & Informative video!! Just Subscribed & 👍Liked..deserved 100K Subscribers..
Thank you so much for your support, I really appreciate it.
In the past, I used to get fashion shoes and sandals from here to sell at the flea market. If there are a lot of them, it will be in the morning. There are 2 shifts in the market, that is, selling from the morning until 8-9 PM and the market selling from midnight until 6 AM in the same area. 😊
There’s definitely lots of good bargains here
Do you know if they sell elephant pants here?
Thanks Serg. ❤ those prices.
I barely scratched the surface of this market. I’m definitely going to come back and do some actual shopping soon.
More merchandise at Sampang start at 2 a.m., Yes 2 in the morning. 😁 you will be serprise more stuff less price! 😄👍
Really? Wow. Ok, I might have to come look sometime.
@@LifewithSergSerg, not go on sunday night or monday night I'm not sure, because monday is street cleaning day. 😄👍
Nice video once again Serg! Wanna to Ayutthaya with me, anyday next week - also DIY!
Ayutthaya is great, but I’ve already been there several times so I’ve got some other plans. Hope you have a great trip.
@@LifewithSerg thanks man.
That is absolutely wholesaler in BANGKOK with all stuffs you can search and almost sellers are Chinese-Thai for decades.😊
Yes, I noticed there was a lot of signs in Chinese. It’s a very interesting wholesale market.
Love your hat, this is amazing wholesale place.
I can’t wait to go back and spend more time just shopping for things.
wow i wish the tour of this market was longer haha i am totally looking forward to get to sampheng Market
There is quite a bit to see either. I probably only covered about 25% of it in this video. Go and check it out, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
Serg, great video...ty
Glad you enjoyed it. I really love going to these markets!
Hey Serg! Today I just watched video about a workerless (automated) convenience store called "Lotus pick & Go", I thought of you because I remember you're a Lotus's customer. But NVM, the market in this video is so cool that it makes Lotus Pick & Go becomes meh. Can't imagine how old exactly are those Vespas but what makes them so cool is that they're still in use, not in a gallery. I figure you big guy slip out the despicable me wallet (you should really buy it ;) to pay for a drink in 7-11, that must be very funny 😂😂
There must’ve been at least 20 vespers there. I think they’re built really well and then perhaps they can carry more weight. I’m going to go back to smoke it with a friend. Maybe then I will buy that wallet. Lol.
Sampheng market is a wholesale market. The price will drop if you buy it 3 prices+ but if you go to that market around 2AM-4AM you can bargain a little bit more.
The man in uniform is not police. they are municipal official there duty is to take care of cleanness and order on the footpath (take care by law not to clean it by themself). You can see the difference between police and municipal official by look on there rank on the shoulder. police have sliver color rank and municipal official have gold color rank .
Yeah, I saw them making several vendors move things around.
Awesome Serg :D
Glad you like it!
@@LifewithSerg I always do :)
4:20 These guys aren't police, they're City Law Enforcement. As you correctly said, they inspect vendors for licences, and enforce basic laws- stuff like saying where vendors can or can't park, they also collect taxes from vendors. City law enforcement does work that isn't important enough for police to handle.
That aside, great video! Sampeng is my favourite market in BKK
Ah yes I figured that out as well. Thanks for the correction.
The chang mug looks nice if only they had them in different colors.
I’m sure they do.
I would need a shipping container with all the stuff I would buy there LOL. I cant wait for my trip to Thailand in 2 weeks this market is a must see place for me!
Have a great time.
I usually went to this market when I attended a college in BKk 30 years ago. The price is low and quality is not bad. However, you can't expect good quality of low price stuff! I would love to go back there again.
Yes, it’s not high end stuff, but so fun to just look around.
Welcome back to Thailand 🇹🇭🙏
Thank you!
Used to go this places with the children to buy stickers, and snacks
Oh yah it’s great for that.
The old Vespa especially the model you saw is the best motorcycle for carrying huge loads that is perfect for the shops . They are very durable have strong chasis. That old model is not being built by Vespa anymore. But still there are many Old Vespa communities and lots of garage in Sampheng area. I used to have 3 of them to carry heavy stuff for my shop. Furthermore, that old model has almost the same price as the brand new motorcycle.
Yes, I am well-versed in motorcycles and scooters. These are old two-stroke Vespa scooters. I think one of the main reasons they use them is because the two-stroke engine has more torque, and can carry heavier loads than the modern four stroke scooters.
exactly, and especially the tyre. The rear tyre of the old vespa are thick and strong to bear heavy loads. I used to make it pastel blue and pink before i sold them :)
Love your video
Thank you!
Love your market videos Serg! Here in the US a burrito that used to cost me $8 is now $11 and a haircut that used to cost $30 is now $44 plus tip! I better fly back to the Land of Smiles 🇹🇭 before my money is all gone!
Yeah, these market videos are fun to make. I was actually in the US for a visit a month ago. To my surprise, after having been gone for a little over a year, I didn’t find the prices had risen much at all.
Fake smiles as long as you have money. You're just a tourist with a stamp in your forehead saying 🏧
Hey serg would love to see a possible video about the health side of living in bangkok, maybe an experience at the dentist, or hospital, something of that nature🤔
I’ve been to the hospital to three times, because it’s the easiest way to see the doctor. While it’s not the content I’m interested in making, there’s quite a few other channels that have covered this topic.
Sawasdee krup Khun Serg ! Samphaeng is a bit too hot & humid over the overlapped roofs in rainy season ! Perhaps shopping at Central Embassy so nice & cool with NO people surrounding you ! 😂 Wow an e trader also gees you are full of surprises 🎉 No present for your cute bestie Nong Praveena ? She will be delighted with surprises from Samphaeng for her ja ❤
I don’t like the malls that have all the high end fashion brand stores in them. Just zero interest to me. I really enjoyed this market, and I will bring my friend Paweena back here so both of us can do some regular shopping. Yes, I had an eBay store since 1996. Sold vintage toys and electronics. Till I moved to Thailand. I’ve been in the ebiz a LONG time. Ha
@@LifewithSerg No wonder Khun Serg traveled Business Class back to America So Hi So ja 😂 Story of Paweena will be a great content !? I was just teasing you about luxury malls as their air conditioner is so cool vs Samphaeng !!! Can I come too ? You must know how to do CPR in case I fainted 😂 Fun vlog indeed Khun Serg brought back my very early memory b4 II got exported to Sydney ( Made in Thailand ) stamped 😂 💕
They use Vespas to carry rolls of fabrics from warehouse to the shops. Sampeng has been the country's fabric trading center since the 60s. before starting to sell toys and other equipment in later decades
Yes, I see the Vespas running all over little India. I’ve just never seen so many vintage Vespas in one place being used so much.
Have a theory on all those Vespas. In a marketplace that large, they are like the fastest mode of transportation, and time is money. Like those bike delivery dudes in San Fransisco that weave around all the traffic and deliver the goods fast. There's a lot of goods at this market to deliver! You're right, I would have so much fun at this place. Glad we got to rummage at your old trotting grounds the other month!😂
Yeah, you’re right on that. The question I had was why vespers and not other bikes. I think the answer is because the two-stroke engines have more torque than four stroke engines, and these bikes are a lot more solidly built for carrying things around. I know that if I brought you to this market, you will probably spend more than all day there. Lol.
I should go there.i love shopping.❤
You’d love it.
Hopefully you can make a video at the Klong Thom Center (electronic market) one day.
I’m looking it up right now. Thanks so much for the suggestion! I love stuff like that, I might go over there and take a look at it this weekend.
Looks a local place. Thanks for let us know 🙏 😊
My pleasure 😊 enjoy!
Sanaol Dollar ang conversion. 🙌🏼😁
Yes it is. US$
Hi Serg , Sampang market is a big wholesale hub in Bangkok.
Yeah I loved it there. Ow I need to go back without my gear and so some serious shopping lol.
@@LifewithSergVespa is commonly used for delivery in old fashioned way.
In Chinatown Bangkok?
Thanks for the video. Really like your presentation
Hey Serg, what a great market to visit when in Bangkok.
Suggestion - when giving exchange rates remember your audience is NOT only yanks! 🎉😂❤
I know, but if I start doing every currency the screen will look like a forex exchange board. lol
Scooter (Vespa - Unique sound) in your vdo (9:15min). I think It's more than 20 or 30 years. I saw it long time ago.
Yes, those are actually from the late 1970s or the early 1980s. I know that they’re old. I think they’re using them because they have two-stroke engines, and they have more torque does a four stroke engine. This allows them to carry heavier things.
Which camera you use, name plz ? Ultimate clarity awesome man
I record everything with my iPhone 13 Pro Max.
And whats the cost of ur dji mic, its awesome too coz i dnt hear any background noise while u vlog
Reminds me of my trips to “flea markets “ as a kid. Great video as always Serg, I will definitely put this on my list when I travel there in early 2024! (Any cheap cigars there? Lol)
You know, I haven’t seen ANY cigar stores here now that I think about it. I’m sure there are some.
I never miss this market.
It’s a great one to go see.
Serg Take care yourself.....From bay area SF
Hope all is well there!
🎉🎉🎉🎉 I will tell you that in the old days There are many customers, most of them are Thai people. and some foreigners The streets you walk are crowded and crowded. walk with difficulty We also want Sampeng to come back to have people come to shop and walk around as usual.
I came early, at 10am. No sure if it’s always this white in the morning
Nice spot man...😎
Oh yeah!
thank you for not playing annoying music during your video!!
I put music in most of my videos.
Hi interesting vid, how did you manage to sell all your items before you moved? I'm in the process myself!
I just sold things online, locally, gave things away, and donated stuff. It was a very straightforward process. Once you start, it’ll be so easy to get rid of things.
Welcome to Thailad❤🎉
Thanks
Dear Serg, police in Sam Peng are normally there to raid places which sell pirated products and other kinds of infringement for example the bear toys, clothes and bags with designer's prints. They've been reported of piracy or occasionnaly come to inspect randomly.
I’ve learned that this wasn’t the police, but municipality code enforcers. They made several vendors move their items because they were blocking the walkways.
Thank You Sir
Most welcome
Cool good to know❤
Enjoy!
If you like this kind of market, perhaps you might want to visit another market, Klong Thom market or ตลาดคลองถม, just a block away from Sampeng, selling all kinds of tools, electronics, etc.
I went there a few weeks ago and I was really excited as I wanted to make a video there, but it was just cheap junk.
Chatuchak market has same prices ?? Thanks for the informative video
Chatuchak is really only good for tourists in my eyes. Yes, I have been to it a couple times, but it’s not a place a personally need to ever go again.
Have you seen any thing Atari in Bangkok's flea markets? One day I'll be going to Thailand.
Not that I remember. I had bought and sold many many Atari systems and cartridges in the US. I think you’re going to like the video I recorded today. It’s not Atari, but it’s a place that you will absolutely have to visit if you ever come here since you like video games.
2:52 "Patches! We don't need no stickin' patches!!!!!"
Right?! Lol
Omg 😳 Below 70 Thb 101 market too damn😮
There’s so much more of this market. There’s even one store that had everything at 20 THB.
You should go to khlong thom thats is the wholesale area for electronics
I’ve been there, and honestly, I was disappointed with the market. I brought my gear and I was going to make a video, but I didn’t feel there was enough there to make an interesting video.

Any recommendations for pure veg restaurant in Bangkok?
There’s tons of them. Just use Google. I haven’t tried any, but I see them everywhere. Most Indian restaurants will have really good vegetarian menus.
What is the bag shop name u showed after ok station???
If you can’t see the name in the video, then I wouldn’t know either.
Now you have known Bangkok better than me who have lived for 10 years. You are not a tourist Serg!, Bangkokian though. loll
Ha ha. I truly appreciate that!
Do you think you can buy those high power laser pen things in from this market? I need to make a DIY fly killer for back home! :D If not, where is the best place to buy those kind of things like electronics etc ? I saw them around Nana Plaza area but it’s all more expensive along those streets..
I’m going to be in Bangkok on Saturday eve / night only.
I would say go to Fortune town. That’s where most of the gadgets and electronics are. But I’m not sure about laser pointers. So don’t hold me to it.

Hi what’s the opening time for the market? ❤
I don’t know, you can Google it to find out.
what’s the best market to go to in bangkok for good copy’s of clothes & shoes?
Probably MBK. It’s a mall.
1. Where do u get military/camoflage clothing
2. Is there a shooting range for tourists?
Google
I have been to Bangkok 3 times, i have one question to people of Bangkok. Why are there so many wires on top in every street. Why not made underground yet?
This is the way it was originally set up. There is a project to get them underground. As you can obviously imagine it will take some time.
What about clothes where can I buy on bulk ?
If you’re looking for used clothes, go to Pattavikorn market. If you’re looking for new clothes in the book, I really don’t know. I would recommend you just go and Google it.
Do people come here and buy then ship to the states to sell for much more?
Not here. You can get same prices on AliExpress.
if you're good at being in everyone's way then you might consider yourself a great bouncer haha!
Ha ha that’s funny. 🤣
Old Vespers do not die, they just go to Thailand.
So many Vespas here.

Cheap but how's about quality? Are they good and last?
Can’t have both. 😊

I don’t believe they sold online.
The purchase price of 1 piece and 3 pieces is very different.😂😂😂
Yes. It’s a wholesale market.
