I knew there was a reason I liked this band. Got alot of respect for this guy. Makes his own guitar shape, spends time with his family, humble, and can fucking shred.
Same, don't know if it's the same for you, but when i practice Songs at slow speed to work up to pace i have a hard time working in the legato's and slow down the speed because i pick too many notes. I feel kinda dumb that i didn't figure it out by myself but paying attention to start on 1's or doing it on a count makes it a lot easier to play at high speeds. I also like his philosophy on working up and down the neck, just so fun to play.
@djakew7: your Meshuggah and Lamb of God at some point of their life grew up listening to "grandpas guitars" (which a lot of us refer as guitar heroes)...meaning to say, if you want to be as good as them then put yourself into their shoes and most important, give respect.
he should really solo more! his riffs are awsome and he has good soloin skill so i really wana see his full technicall ability! Love Lamb of God. Definition of Heavy metal.
@AlexNormonBazzz now the talent thing is all opinion. but technically, have you heard tosin abasi, marc okubo or either of Born of Osiris's guitarists?
Heya! Anyone know where to find tabs for Mark's exercises? Or maybe the pros out there watching this video can tab it? :D They're awesome but but for beginner-to-int players like me it's really hard to pick it out!
This was the one I've been looking for. Considering buying his signature. He may resemble Jesus but also reminds me of a metalhead Allan from the Hangover lol
@BLUEWIZARD40 Just Google Jackson Mark Morton guitar. You should get some shopping results. It's about $1,400. The particular color is the wine red finish I believe.
I didn't say anything bad about metal. Look at my favorite videos...tons of metal. I was just letting this guy know where he could find a magazine that would suit his interests more.
Yes actually. In fact they talk about taking riffs from old hippy bands and such. It's all apart of their sound, like being a metal band that turns down their gain
@Ramones1234100 please understand that metal and shredding is basically where its at for up and coming guitarists and also please understand that there is way more to shredding than just random notes. please listen to a jason becker or marty friedman album and youll see what i mean
While Tosin Abasi is a remarkable guitarist John Petrucci easily puts Tosin Abasi to shame. But then again you also have to remember that John Pettrucci, Tosin and Mark/Willie and Matt Heafy are from completely different playing styles so it's a little stupid to put them all under one category of guitar playing
Guitar World has been pissing me off. I even stopped my subsciption. I only just bought the April Issue because the cover story is Hendrix, and they have a really good guide to recording (even though it's how to record modern metal, go figure) I just wish they catered to more then just the shred metal scene...
Great playing and KILLER Boogie tone!!.
I knew there was a reason I liked this band. Got alot of respect for this guy. Makes his own guitar shape, spends time with his family, humble, and can fucking shred.
Mark is awesome
Yeah, I like Mesa Boogie
That was a perfect example of pentatonic and blues mixing..hail mark..
mark is the man. he writes some of the most challenging riffs ive ever seen
& again he opens my eyes.!

mark morton is just awesome !
Mark is fucking awesome! I like the idea of playing across the neck instead of just up and down in the basic box.
i've never been a metal fan, but i have a lot of respect for this guy
this dude got some amazing skills. hope they will stay together for ever.
@jfrockon I agree. I still think the best vibrato in metal though is Joel Stroetzel from K.S.E. dude can make notes sing
@djakew7: your Meshuggah and Lamb of God at some point of their life grew up listening to "grandpas guitars" (which a lot of us refer as guitar heroes)...meaning to say, if you want to be as good as them then put yourself into their shoes and most important, give respect.
that lick at the end is fucking insane
that guitar is awesome !! does anybody know what model it is ?
if only there were tabs for this exercise
que copado que es este tipo!
Guitar World has a lot to offer for a guitarist seeking knowledge.
that's a cool run.
is this the mesa boogie mark V head?
Yes it is
he should really solo more! his riffs are awsome and he has good soloin skill so i really wana see his full technicall ability! Love Lamb of God. Definition of Heavy metal.
what a legend!
wow that looked pretty intimidating and scary
this nis gods way of telling me i must learn it
thats like poetry on guitar
@AlexNormonBazzz I love those guys and LOG, but there's a band called Revocation that has em beat.
awesome video :P 5 stars :)
mkay..... i haven't seen a guitar one magazine in years, I don't think that its made anymore... at least in Canada hahaha
Mark Morton and Willie Adler are probably the most talented and most technical songwriters and guitar players in metal right now. How metal should me.
I wouldn't go that far... but they are good at what they do and make heads bang!
@ieatcheez4breakfast The artist or the pokémon?
These guys are are the metallica of there generation. There are faster bands, there are 'heavier' bands, but nobodys better. LOG the class of Metal
@AlexNormonBazzz now the talent thing is all opinion. but technically, have you heard tosin abasi, marc okubo or either of Born of Osiris's guitarists?
Hey, a modern guitarist with a good vibrato... nice
@AlexNormonBazzz michael romeo (symphony x) and jeff loomis (was the master of nevermore)
@machinegunguitar
And don't forget looking like a heavy metal Jesus! Mark seems like a great guy to hang with as well
great lessons for he has a great tone and a great style i have to agree with alexnormon deffinatly one of the more technical players around.
@iPR0SH0T I do believe John Petrucci would agree that Tosin Abasi has that title.
Heya! Anyone know where to find tabs for Mark's exercises? Or maybe the pros out there watching this video can tab it? :D They're awesome but but for beginner-to-int players like me it's really hard to pick it out!
Could i have the tablature of this?????? pleaseeeeeeeee
This was the one I've been looking for. Considering buying his signature. He may resemble Jesus but also reminds me of a metalhead Allan from the Hangover lol
@AlexNormonBazzz
Uhhhh, so Emil Werstler and Tosin Abasi are....
@BLUEWIZARD40
Just Google Jackson Mark Morton guitar. You should get some shopping results.

Mark is fucking awesome!!
guitar world --- saw something like elf stuuf there --- paste an link ! ?
Lamb of God is a great band cause they can be heavy without having to go to those really low tuneings like drop a or drop b
I didn't say anything bad about metal. Look at my favorite videos...tons of metal. I was just letting this guy know where he could find a magazine that would suit his interests more.
@fruitywheelz rite?? big stretches around the 9th 7th 5th and 3rd fret bits going on here
@pittbullbill Are you serious? It's when you "shake" or bend a note up and down. Your serious?
he does
Am I the only person that has to backup the video to see the riff again because I was distracted by the beauty of Mark's guitar..?
@budgood099 dave mustaine and chris broderick are..
He ams not a normal human. he ams a god
Yes actually. In fact they talk about taking riffs from old hippy bands and such. It's all apart of their sound, like being a metal band that turns down their gain

dude, i play drums and i find this intresting
i wish there were tabs
@AlexNormonBazzz Haha, sweet man.
@punk9999643 Man im already a massive Opeth fan :) Martin Mendez is the most influencial bass player for me
That cat would make an excellent JHFC
the lick at 2:04 is so fuckin badass
@A7XEternalSoldier
true enouph
@AlexNormonBazzz Alongside Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel! :D
@masonandscott
because he is...obvi:P
why does he squeak when he says s sounds?
@AlexNormonBazzz paul waggoner and dusty waring of between the buried and me
@machinegunguitar and because lamb of god is fucking bad ass
Willie writes the hardest songs! But I see what your point is
Along with Robb Flynn and McClain imo...
@AlexNormonBazzz Check out Opeth. Lamb of God are amazing, don't get me wrong, but Opeth is better guitar/vocal wise. At least in my opinion.
@AlexNormonBazzz Jeff Loomis.
All blues based (versus jazz based) metal does dude, try listening to Sleep and Electric Wizard. Blues up the ass.
Hey, you dont have to be dead/born in the 50,70,60' to be good!
While Tosin Abasi is a remarkable guitarist John Petrucci easily puts Tosin Abasi to shame. @djakew77 Don't worry you will be old much sooner than you think.. Then you will have some punk telling you how your stuck in the 10's 20's.
he's got a hell of a reach in his left hand
but you will find spots where you wanne keepg going with you Right hand...
wtfff mark? off topic! 2:25
whats bad about being metal.... and guitar world does more than just metal, they do just as much not metal if not more than metal segments
Well GuitarWorld is a fuck load better than ExpertVillage!
@GuitarAddison well, he's propably not a guitar teacher xD
meh. If that was "too fast" for you well....I suppose we all have to start somewhere. It was just triplets. Nothing really new here.
@maidenfreak94 His Boring!!!
@3922378742 use your ears. screw tabs.
Technical ? Not at all, check The Faceless.
LMAO ! ! ! !
@MetalMark9 No
willie isn't technical at all, he doesn't really know the theory like mark does
he is looking more like Jesus these days
sounds a little dimeish
Ugly guitar
I think that's one of the ugliest guitars in metal...
i`m thinking the exact opposite
Ever seen the majesty?
dani is a fag
