had one when I was a kid. think 60 bucks. Looked for one this weekend and near the 3 grand mark.. I should've bought a warehouse of them in the 80's and hermetically sealed n stored em.
I meant to say why I send you my Excellent comment . You have excellent demonstration skills . Clarity in angles , lighting and sound made this a most engaging video to watch . No disturbing or distracting “ music “ . I doubt that Bolex themselves could have found a better skilled person to demonstrate their product . Well done .
85ND3.. hm... if they impart a color. Is the "Neutral" part of the ND term really applicable? I joke. But also. I am genuinely curious if they technically are considered "neutral" :)
I’m feeling incredibly motivated to get a REX model H16. a gentleman recommended I get a REX 3 or higher. This will take some time and a lot of $200 eBay cards. I don’t care if it takes me into 2023 to save for one! 😤 It will take me months of discipline to do this!
Bolex is fully mechanical machine, so it is more robust and easy to fix, Scoopic is electronic, it is a great camera but when it malfunction, you are out of luck, basically you need another Scoopic to fix your's
@@Analog-Grain I believe you, but then I wonder why they had two versions of the lens? Actually three - H8, H16 AR , and H16RX? The last two obviously for the reflex prism FFD.
Today's engineer graduates couldn't design nor produce this mechanical masterpiece. This is the offshoot of a hundred years of watch making.

If we only knew the gold mines people were sitting on.
What a trip watching this when High with "Cryochamber" music running live in another tab

Thank you!
All due respect, I think the EL Mark 3, I think, is the best-looking and practical one, but I can't seem to find it online anywhere.
Excellent . Thank you for sharing .
More sleek to me 😊
Nice. Btw, you forgot to open the Loopformers after forming the Loop, you'll scratch your film if you forget that!
For widescreen shoots instead s16 could use anamophic lens?

anyone know where to buy one of this in good conditions?

You better get it as soon as possible, because the price is going up, if really want to get one, you can finance it
@@Analog-Grain what about the Canon Scoopic Compared to the Bolex ? Canon makes the best super 8 cameras but does it continue to their 16mm offerings?

@@Analog-Grain ok I’m entirely certain I’m getting a Bolex REX 2-5.
get rex5, you can add 400ft mag for it if in the future you want to use it for some longer projects
Wait, why are you using an AR Switar lens on a reflex Bolex? You need RX not AR Switar lenses.
The camera isn't mine, so I didn't pair this with not RX lens
@@Analog-Grain The 25mm is an H8 lens - won't cover 16mm AFAIK
@@timothysassoon1077 it cover, trust me, I used it

@@timothysassoon1077 look again, the one on this camera is H16 RX
