The Giulia is the most beautiful looking 4-door sedan out there and If you don't agree your opinion is wrong.
My opinion is right as I share yours!

Like 40 years ago my neighbor had an Alfetta. It was one of the fastest cars I had seen. I loved the engine sound.
Own both a Giulia and Stelvio 2.0s - they’re absolute beasts, no doubt.
This is not a fair race. The new TLX is heavy AF so that's the reason why its slow slow. I bet you if you put the 10th Gen Honda Accord 2.0 Turbo, it will probably keep up or beat the Alfa..
@@bj10jgo actually according to the stats the printed at the beginning of the vid the alfa is 6lbs heavier has 8hp more and 26 lbs ft more torque
I will say by owning a 22 Guilia Q4. The difference between Normal mode and Sport mode is INSANE. Such a fun car to drive!
Revs way higher in Dynamic
Nice video, is cool to see a "normal" Giulia against other cars, and not german.
It's because the Alfa already kicked the crap out of the Germans.
Agreed!
@Zoran Novosel same I really wanna see that
I want to see Giulia vs Supra 2.0. Same I-4 engine, Italy vs Japan 🔥
@@dsheen3637 that’s a good one
Can we take a moment and appreciate the fact that this one man, not 2 or 4 team member, made all these videos possible. That takes dedication and hard work. I don’t care who wins or looses, I thank you sir for making all these drags possible for us to watch them. We enjoy a Ferrari dragging a Lambo 😂🤣but nothing is more enjoyable than watching cars we can actually afford.
Thank you!
Ah, that sad look on his face when he said "that Giulia". Priceless... :)
But really, the Alfa is something special. Such an underrated brand unfortunately.
Own a 2020 Giulia I can tell you there is a huge difference between Dynamic and normal it's all in the trans programing.
Sam you keep saying that the Acura is losing because the Alfa has more horse power as an excuse. It is an 8hp difference and that Acura beat down cannot be excused over 8hp.... 😂
Acura has 700lbs more than alfa🙄
@@xilai7075 the full curb weight difference is only around 100lbs...not sure where you are getting 700lbs.
The Acura is just that bad
@Xi Lai so then not the horse power. Thanks for confirming my comment. You're a bit dim huh.

I would love to see you do a comparison between 2022 Genesis G70 and the new Acura TLX Type S!
It’s coming 😍
G70 wins comfortably
Unfortunately the type s is slow asf against its rival, u mean 0-60 in 4.9 seconds wtf, it's rival the BMW M340I does it 4.1 seconds

Drove German (BMW) for 26 years. Now own from new a 2020 Gulia Ti Sport in Missiano Blue. Its a beast, so quick in Dynamic you really feel the G. I'm gonna keep it for say another 2 years maybe and trade in for a Gulia Qudrafoglio. Dont think I'll be bother getting German with these affordable Italian rockets.
you should do more races with the giulia against other cars
Or, even better, have actual racing, as in a racing circuit like Watkins Glen, Limerock, etc., to truly measure the performance of each car. Performance is not just straight line acceleration. Braking, turn in, lateral acceleration, balance....all contribute to "performance". Anyone who's raced knows that money spent on weight loss, suspension, and braking is far more effective in lower lap times than engine mods, dollar for dollar. The gap between these two car, the "Acura" and the Giulia, would be far greater on a road course where the Honda has virtually 60% of their weight on the front tires, vs. the ALFA's 50/50.
@Fred deNapoli I'm glad I'm not the only one that share this view. I've always said you can make anything fast in a straight line. Most of the world's best performance machines are tested at places like the Nurburgring, not some abandoned air strip.
Need more giulia races
Great vide! Keep them coming!!
Thank you. Glad I found the channel, and knew what to do. ;)
Nice race videos. Appreciate it bro. We like it when you do race videos!
Great video. Would love to see some numbers from your drag racing!
where are you getting the CW from ? because everywhere i see the AWD models are 3,990 not 3700..
You can’t turn traction control off on a non QV Guilia. I own one. I wish you could, but they don’t allow it.
yes, you can. just swap the DNA for a race one and program it with the computer.
In terms of price, would the Guilia Q4 vs TLS TypeS be a better match?
That was a Q2
@@joeharris2995 what was Q2?
Honestly, looking at how large of a gap there was between the Giulia and the TLX, I think it might be a driver's race when comparing it to the Type-S. The Type-S gets more power, but even more weight. The Type-S has +75HP and +50TQ but is also about 600lbs heavier. I'd still give the Type-S the edge, but probably not by much. As for price, similarly equipped, the Giulia slots about in the middle with the Ti Sport model, less for the lower models that are pretty comparable to an A-Spec package.
Is the 2.0 turbo in the Tlx the same engine in the Honda Accord with a different turbo charger...
You can’t turn the traction control off on the Alfa out of the factory!!!
The Acura shouldn’t even be considered a “sport sedan” they are so slow. The Giulia is a beautiful car.
3rd run he was perfect... you were just slow from losing those last 2 races...😂😂😂
That wasn't s Q4. If it was the beat done would have been worse. That was s Q2
Did you get any times on the quarter mile? I have an alfa myself and I cant seem to find times for it. I only find it for the alfa 🍀 which if a completely different car.
Times for the 1/4 that I've seen range between 13.4 - 13.8.
Just got a 2021 Giulia... it lives up to the hype!!! Best decision I made in years!!!
still good?
@@Maximob-dm5wi Love it!!! Only direction I am willing to go, when I can afford it lol, is a Quadrafolio!!!
Was this the awd or fwd tlx and was it the rwd gulia or the awd?
Handling lets see if that torque vectoring all will drive helps on the track?
The engineers at Honda/Acura did an excellent job on the suspension. There’s no noticeable (visually) bounce, vibration when accelerating. The car is very stable. Very confidence, inspiring.
As somebody with a 19 Giulia Ti Q4, my heart is happy 🥰
Can you do a drag race on the 19 tlx shawd vs the 21 tlx shawd
I've always had the mindset that you can make ANYTHING fast in a straight line. I'd like to see how the chasis are tuned in these cars. When the road twist and turns, which car is faster going in and coming out of turns. Put 'em on a road course!
The only way to find out is if you personally did that. Nothing on a drag course would prove between these two.
I own a Giulia Veloce Ti Q4 MY19 (german version). I live on the Alps, and here we have only mountain roads with closed curves and 25° unevenness... the Giulia is simply fantastic, better than the BMW 330i xDrive with M package (her direct competitor, which also I tested here).
Absolutely nothing compares to the Alfa handling in this segment. Nothing.
giulia would really embarrass the tlx on road course
Giulia is one of the better handling cars in production right now. My $ is on the Alfa all day long.
On the 6th run the Alfa even tapped the brakes and still kept ahead of him. The Alfas are an amazing looking car and only surpassed by its handling. You don’t see them on every corner either. One of my favorite cars in that segment.
In the Alfa the DNA switch performance difference is huge, unlike in most cars with similar switches.
please can you guys do The same alfa romeo vs elantra N
That extra torque really came in handy..Tlx looks much better but there is deff a power difference..Id like to sew the gulia vs a turbo 4 kia stinger and a turbo 4 supra in a 3 way race
Agree that I want to see that race, but disagree on the Alfa not being as good looking. Both the TLX ava the Alfa are super cool looking sedans.
Show us a car that will beat the Alfa in the same segment for around the same price.
Maybe Genesis 3.3 turbo?
I can tell you right now the Alfa is a way cheaper lease then that Acura
@@kirksmith347 The numbers are correct. However there is something that can not be touched, and because of that those two cars are in two totally different universes. :)

I saw a video where the Accord with the same 2.0T beat the TLX despite putting out less power. TLX weighs more due to AWD and being a slightly larger car overall. Would be funny to put an Accord against these same cars the TLX is intended to compete with. Might surprise some people
Accord would win. I own the Acura and the 2.0t. It’s way faster
acura should have used the type r motor in the tlx would have made a lot more sense

10 spd in the TLX definitely helps on the launch, but then seemed to get heat soak.

Please do more races with the guilia 2.0 q4
I have one of these Q4 TI Guilia's. Best driving car! Just solid and so much fun - it always feels to me like a beast just barely under control and waiting to be unleashed :-)
Bring back the Giulia Q4 for a drag against some of the newer competition. Elantra N, Type S Tlx, Stinger, Civic R, Golf R, etc.
This was just fun to watch.

Worthless drag race. Dragging two cars that are destined to be grandpa Boulevard cruisers.
@@islandon22 you clearly don't know much about the Giulia. It's as pure a driver's car as you can find.
@@Mr.J2U there was one in our driveway that belongs to our neighbor just minutes ago! 😅
Have you seen who drives these cars lately? For one, my neighbor, a lovely 50 something, has never taken it past the speed limit. She bought it because it was "cute". I almost barfed! But that's who I see driving these beauties.
But I think you're speaking of the Giulia QV. Now THAT has phenomenal skidpad numbers. But at $81-$83k, that doesn't surprise anyone. As far as drivers cars I've owned and and driven I love Lotus. Then the Original AC Cobra (driven) Porsche Cayman (driven), the Mazda Miata (owned) and JCW Mini (owned).
To me, a "driver's car" means a car that offers a total connection and oneness with the driver. Having a great skidpad #'s, or a big "handling envelope" doesn't necessarily add up to a great driving experience. It's all about that interconnection. And I know you know what I mean. 😉

There is no "traction off" on the giulia. Only the QV can disable it.
You can install the QV’s drive selector on the base model Giulia to turn all that off just like the QV.

I thought the TLX performed really poorly, with such figures and being newer, it should have stayed within the same ballpark. Seems to me the ratios suck.
But then again the TLX is ALOT bigger.
@@drivescene6747 Yea those match-ups will be very interesting but I don't think the Type S would win any of em. We definitely need to it up against the S4 & the Stinger. If the Type S loses to those two then its safe to say that it'll lose to the C43 & G70. That 340i will remain top dog for another year. Maybe Acura has bigger plans for the Type S in the future. I'm sure they're listening to what people are saying & they definitely have the potential to become alot more competitive in this segment performance wise.
Since when does the A spec come with SH-AWD??
My old 2019 A-Spec (bought in May of 2018) had SH-AWD and a V-6. It was like driving a paperweight-great looks, boring drive.
Hi Sam can you do more giulia races?
The K20C4 and 10-speed in the Acura (also in the Accord 2.0) is just a launch monster. Can't wait to see the Type-S in action.
The 10 speed in the Aspec needs to be tuned a bit more aggressively. Yeah it's super smooth but it seems like even the accord 2.0 wears it better
Accord is much lighter, I’m curious to see the accord race this Giulia to see how close it’d get

we need more Giulia 2.0 races common
I don't think drag racing is what the Giulia is really optimized for, but glad to see it win anyway! I'm the lucky owner of a Giulia Q4, and I think 280 hp seems to be a conservative figure, for sure.
giulia vs tlx type s please!
Giulia 2.0 turbo is actually SOHC, not DOHC
Multi-Air
Good race! Wind noise is annoying
Now the Kia k5 gt vs the giulia 🤓
The Alfa has 280hp vs the TLX 272hp. Honestly 8hp is largely negligible in the real world.
The real difference however is curb weight - the Alfa is around 3700lbs while the Acura is at 4000lbs. The Alfa is one of the lightest entries in its class while the Acura is one of the heaviest.
At the beginning of the video vehicles specs were shown and the weight difference between these two cars was negligible; in fact, the Alfa was 6 pounds heavier than the TLX..
Not true according to the vehicle specs shown at the beginning of the video.
ТLX slow transmission mainly. Also i dont check but i believe is heavier due to 4x4 etc. This is slightly different class cars. Gulia is between compact and small sedan. TLX is mid up to full size in many ways.
