I absolutely love the ideas that you come up with, the light bulbs will definitely come in handy when the holidays come around. I can not wait to give these a try, thank you sooo much for sharing these amazing ideas.😁
Love the bulbs and stars especially and the leaves with acorns are really cute. I’ve used various pastry cutters for years, but always great to get new and different ideas. Thankyou for sharing, take care and stay safe x
Always a treat when you post a video! Love your ideas and sense of fun. I love using placemats (both plastic and textile) with interesting textures for projects. Thanks so much for sharing your talents with us❣️
If your bulb ornaments are totally dry, the air inside is not a problem. If there is still moisture inside turning into steam, that is what causes explosions in kilns, not just air. I really like this one but it seems scary to stand them up in the glaze firing! But since they are bisqued, they should stand up ok. Thank you for these very cool ideas!
I love your videos Anne. I have used cookie cutters for quite a while now. I love the lightbulb! I also make wind chimes using cookie cutters. Which string type do you use for outdoor use? Tks.
Hello Ann. Been following you for a while now. Do you ever use plastic cling wrap over your slabs prior to using the cookie cutters? I regularly use cling wrap, as it helps to soften the edges when I push the cookie cutter into the clay. It also does not stick. I like the idea of using a sponge on top of multiple layers of clay! Thanks for that tip!
Hi Bruce (this is Jim)...we were JUST in the studio shooting an episode and Ann was using this exact tip! It works great for keeping the edges clean! Thanks for sharing this!
I think I need a Jim over too 😉. Love the ideas given especially the last one. I have been wanting to learn how to make a casting of my own thrown Christmas ornament, but not sure if really cost effective since I really don’t slip cast. Therefore this is a good alternative. Lastly do you have a making your own paper clay video/ I want to make flowers for a feeder and seem to think they would be better if made with paper clay? Thoughts? Ty
Another really neat video demo. Luckily I don't use porcelain so I don't have to consider this challenge.... and the challenge is a Christmas light made of porcelain with LED tea light in it. Ann, if anyone could make it work it would be the "OCALA TEAM" Cheers...Freddie
Hey this is a random question but my aunt does pottery and I'm trying to figure out something to get her. Any ideas would be helpful since I don't know anything about pottery or what she has already for making pottery
@@LittleStreetPottery Thanks for the quick reply! I love your videos! I use Laguna #65 but want to move to porcelain so I will give it a try! My supplier calls it Grolleg Porcelain, do you think that is the same thing?
I love LOVE the light bulbs. I can just see a heap of them strung across my garden. So pretty adding color in between blooms.
Paisano's Roost Farm in Southern New Mexico: I'm a quilter/fiber artist. My cookie cutters are my source of endless appliques for projects.
Using plastic wrap keeps the clay from sticking and rounds the edge slightly giving the pieces a nice finished look.
The way you have made the light bulb is so clever . 🤩

I've used them for jewlery. I like the bulb idea. I'm going to give it a try
The bulbs are incredible!
I love your creativity! Everything was beautiful!

Loved it! Thank you Ann for your joyful patient tutorials, you are one in a million✨💐🙏🏻🕊👍🏽✨✨✨✨
Last weekend I used Xmas cookie cutters to make ornaments, I'm going to used your ideas to make textures I didn't think of that...thanks
Danke!
Thank you Maria for your support! (Danke!) Welcome to the team!
I'd love to see the bulbs with some tiny stars or dots cut out and a warm led light inside...
Thank you for this video. You’re such an inspiration! I’m going to try this today. Again Thank You!
Very Good!! Thank you!!!
I loved the lightbulb idea!! Brilliant!
Great tips for customizing the pieces!
Excellent
Brilliant!
These are so cute! I've never used cornstarch with my clay. Would I need to rinse the cornstarch off the clay before I could recycle it?
I don’t usually....just brush off what I can and let it burn out!😉
Obrigada pela aula. Já fiz vários experimentos com cortadores de biscoito. E funciona perfeitamente.

Impressed with using cornstarch but are you still able to recycle your clay scraps?
Yeah, I do. Usually brush off what I can but just let the crumbs fire out
, 😉

Everything I used was pretty much for indoor use...guess you could use heavy fishing line outside??
Loved those 3d stars and bulbs Glazing technique for bulbs is awesome. But how did you glaze fire them.
Stood them up on end like in the photo...they all survived!
Tip:
Dip the cutters in warm water before pressing them into the clay. It always works for me!!
Great tip!

..on our list Freddie!
Love these. What size cookie cutter did you use for the bulbs??? Thank you
It was a 2" metal cutter. It was one of a bunch of cutters I got with a 30 piece set. Thanks for watching!

Gift certificate from Baileys, or Sheffield Pottery. Also, if she does any carving, a set of tools from Diamondcore says “ I really love you”. 😁
This is a lovely video, lots of great ideas! What kind of clay are you using?
Standard English Porcelain #365. Thanks!
@@LittleStreetPottery Thanks for the quick reply! I love your videos! I use Laguna #65 but want to move to porcelain so I will give it a try! My supplier calls it Grolleg Porcelain, do you think that is the same thing?
Clay is funny, and my particular porcelain is hard to find in certain parts of the country, but most any decent porcelain should be similar.
I just saw this video. Is it possible to do an under glaze on the pattern to accent it more?
Yes indeed! You can paint with underglaze before bisque fire. Thanks!
does the corn starch burn off cleanly in the kiln?
I brush off as much as I can and yes, the rest burns away. Thanks for watching!
If you use plastic wrap over clay the cookie cutters won't stick. It also makes a nice curved edge.
:)
