I think this feels more confusing for an anime-only than it needs to be. Information like Kenjaku's name/general backstory and the back of the prison realm are irrelevant for understanding the Shibuya Incident because that information is only revealed after Shibuya in the manga anyway. The best way to prepare is to just have a refresher of the major story points/characters/power system as shown in all the previous JJK instalments. Other than probably Domain Amplification, I think Shibuya explains itself pretty well, and it'll be doubly clear in the animated format.
The thing that worries me a bit is that I heard Gege doesn’t want a narrator in the anime. Spoilers:
The narrator though is the only source of information for key techniques and strategies used in the fight, like Gojo’s 0.2 DE or the mechanics behind Sukuna’s Cleave and Dismantle. So far they used other characters to narrarate but in those moments it wouldn’t make sense

It's disrespectful to the story to remove the narration in some ways and the character of the manga itself, THOUGH then I'd imagine they Imagine Themselves as the Narrator and thusly wont have someone speak for them or something? Seems suspicious in a mystery kinda way and wondering abouut what the hells REALLY going on is when a Lot of NEW Manga are at there finest... keeping the mystery is the real magic though...
But let's acknowledge Not everything can be fully adapted to dialogue and action... Its more true with Proper wordy books for sure...
Though without Narrator sámâ we also DONT Know the complexities of ANY of the Techniques without character exposition and the animated actions with whatever dialogue is dramatically given... Much of this is the feel of the Mángâ during those times AND the Time between Chapters the readers spent theorising and looking up assorted Eastern Spiritual Ideas from more than the usual Shintobuddhist uses of specific names and terms or a popular story or character from the nihon shouki or however its properly transliterated... Cant be asked at the moment... Excuse my usual specificity's absense....so JJK has some serious challenges in how easily it translates, in SOME ways though it may do other things better... from certain points of view...
But some Impact is lost if its JUST cool action and unexplained curse techniques for these one on ones some of which commentary is an impossibility functionally but now im wondering whether or not the Sukuna Gojo battle isnt a single episode now of Mostly tense exposition and cutaways... actually the other fights are what keep it longer but man then its still 3-10 episode range if they go wild with all the other stuff...which I'd hope they'd do hmm...I still feel like Narration is important to some narratives but if your just Western TV Show style about it I cant blame them... Only OLD western TV has famous narrator stuff otherwise its a talk show... that only translates to slice of life or whatever
Just realised that maybe some of the explanations are Not to be spoken aloud in some way related to law or curses or who knows what...Who knows what else they dont teach in normal history class right? hehehe The world man... ha
But the most compelling aspect of JJK was the Time spent trying to understand the meaning of what you were pausing to think about when reading.. IT FORCED YOU TO THINK. you know?
That's not television though... so what CAN be Translated and Communicated without narration or new dialogue is... its a lot more than the story can have removed...
The theoretical stuff in the curse techniques and the background having removed the Reveals of whats even going on is kind of removing a lot of the heart of the manga and narrative since understanding what's happening can't be handed off always... even in the Gojo Sukuna battle where theres commentary from characters they're not meant to know everything... EVERYTHING is handled by the narrator at this moment.
Who's handed such a dramatic moment that ONLY THE NARRATOR WAS ALLOWED TO SPEAK OF?
That is the Big Issue in Removing the Narrator with a Manga like JJK and some of this stuff is NEVER explained so that the Fight's complexity is abandoned and the viewer's interaction with it through gaining understanding on SOME Level... THOUGH I imagine there are touchier subjects being explored in JJK that probably arent too different from stuff some armies did historically...
I wonder if it gets that complex where some stuff can't be spoken like they're under a vow or something but not in a way fully explained to what is shown in the manga... It needs to stay focused on the action and not explaining EVERYTHING because every mangaka that uses historical stuff cant go and touch on everything to fully accurate levels... But hey I understand having a "that which shan't be spoken of" with the cost of one's life on it or something... Its a bit oldschool but I was never exploring so much as trying to psychoanalyse the value of whatever was written with theories on why such things were worded and whatever they were telling somebody else in another country or something... Got sidetracked thinking about Crôwley again... hehe Man oldschool spookstory psyops are complicated right? Its all just choices and narratives which can always be relabeled... some mangas retell other stories or get elements from them in super interesting ways...
But man how do you tell the audience stuff ONLY a Narrator Should speak?
Thats the big question for capturing and communicating some later JJK stuff...

There’s a lot of things I liked about the arc but what I like most is that it literally feels like the final arc of a shounen. So many major story-changing developments and epic battles that is the culmination of everything in the story leading up to this point

Nick, Geto mentioned in the movie, that there are 16 special grade cursed spirits and we see a lot of them in the anime and even more in the manga. I think many ppl started to lose track of them, I’d love to see a video where u list all of the ones we know and what we know about them. ^-^
Maharaga's adaptation doesn't specifically require 4 hits, it's specifically gradual. If you hit him with an attack worth "100 damage" he can adapt to those uniformally and without much burden, if you hit him with an attack worth "1,000,000 damage" his adaptation would take time and be a temporary burden.
If it helps think of it like each time Maharaga *takes a step in adaptation* he takes 100x less damage from that specific attack, and at some point it's no more harmful than a slight breeze. The adaptation process has a burden depending on how strong the specific attack & technique are, so hitting him with 1 heavy attack over and over can do some damage, but nothing does more damage than the first time it's used against him

It depends on the complexity of the attack. If it is a more simple phenomenon, Mahoraga can adapt instantly. Very complex ones take time or repeated exposure.
Also Nick is wrong that Mahoraga "dies". Its adaptation would be useless if it died. It works when it takes a blow that doesn't instantly kill it

no we do know kenjaku is older than 400 years old, he was personally involved with tengen when tengen was in their first (natural) form, and also taught sukuna how to split his soul into 20 pieces (his fingers) in order to reincarnate in the future. meaning he is minimum 1000 years old. also the death wombs were his children which were made during the heian era.
The death paintings aren't from the Heian era.

yeah i really love the balance between the characters and every character who feels more special than another is because of their role in the universe like how Gojo feels more important some times rightfully since he is the strongest jujutsu sorcerer in the verse but other than instances like that all the other normal sorcerers feel like they get fair treatment no things like mc is better always wins and random power ups everyone feels like exactly what they are a character in a story a human in their verse

Watching this episode convinced me to watch jjk... I have since then completely caught up on the anime
I was waiting for the full season to come out but couldn't hold myself for it so just sat down yesterday and watched all 16 that have come out as if right now + most of the first season for a refresher. And boy oh boy, it do be brutal, and even though things didn't hit that hard it was only because I kinda spoiled myself with the manga breakdowns and stuff. The spoilers were worth it though cause otherwise I was gonna be like "what thee hell just happened?". It's crazy and action packed, can't ask more from an anime like this.

MIguel had the whip that could nullify curse techniques/ destory the prison realm right? Could a weapon like have been used to destroy sukuna's fingers? I know gojo destoryed the whip in his fight with him in JJK 0, and I don't believe we've seen what gojo did with the Inverted Spear of Hevean, I don't remember him desotrying it. But theoretically couldn't one of these weapons have destoryed sukuna's fingers? Angel couldn't use jacobs ladder yet they weren't reincarnated, (maybe this could've as well). The answer may very well just be Gojo tried with Inverted Spear, but it didn't work.

I feel like you’re explanation on the whole Prison Real minute requirement is inaccurate. It’s not necessarily thinking about a time longer than a minute but rather… It’s like those moments in life where a couple seconds feels a lot longer. That’s not to say your example of some ex popping up wouldn’t work. It would work in the sense that one may have a ton of memories and feelings flooding back and therefore that moment feels longer rather than working because those memories are of a time period literally longer than a minute.

I honestly loved the Shibuya incident. I only read it once but I took about a week to get thru the whole arc so I didn't miss anything. The character development was 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾
