    If no one has ever told you, you're a rockstar! Thank you so much for this video. It is very timely. I recently ordered Tocopherol acetate thinking it will be the best option since it is not heat sensitive. Thankfully, I haven't opened it so I can return and order Natural Vitamin E instead. Thank you once again!

    I am truly impressed about your presentation on this crucial information. I was quite confused about the whole tocopherol usage in my whipped body cream formulation. Now after watching your video, I got some clarity. Thanks for such a wonderful presentation once again. God bless you 🌹

    Bos Essentials has the best Vitamin E that I've found. It's ~90% D-Alpha Tocopherol with ~10% Mixed Natural Delta/Beta/Gamma Tocopherols, so no carrier oils. They also have the best Ascorbic Acid powder I've come across so far. Super fine powder that dissolves quickly. Thank you for providing this type of content. Super educational.

    Ohh Thank God I found this video. Well I actually a little bit confused to determine which type of vitamin E that can be used to protect the formula. Thank you for the explanation.
    But, I want to ask something related with an addition of Vitamin E in hot process.
    Sometimes, I added Vitamin E Acetate in oil phase while I'm making an emulsion products. Because when I add it after cooling process, that Vitamin E won't mix homogenously. Do you have any suggestions? Should I increase the level of emulsifier or may be you have another suggestion?
    Thank you.

      Hi Setia,
      Thanks for watching and your interest! Please be sure to subscribe to never miss the latest releases!!
      To answer your question, Acetate won’t protect your formula at all. Use the non-acetate version only for protection of your formula. If adding to hot process, you will need more as some of the antioxidant activity will be used up during the heat exposure.
      Hope this helps.
      Happy Formulating!

    • @setiabakti5930
      @setiabakti5930 3 года назад +1

      @@theinstituteofpersonalcare6401 Ah i see. So basically, it's still okay to add non-acetate Vitamin E in hot process, but make sure to use higher level so that the final product still has antioxidant protection.
      Thank you for your explanation.

      There are a few ways to broaden your searches for raw materials:
      • Visit our global suppliers page: createcosmeticformulas.com/IngredientSuppliers/cosmeticingredientsuppliers-897/
      • Join our Cosmetic Raw Materials for Small Brands facebook group: facebook.com/groups/1734896293290235/ here you can split packs with others to access materials from large suppliers
      When you are a student with us, you also get access to our raw material database, which has 1000’s of raw material details in it, along with supplier details - so you can access this info, get in touch with suppliers and ask for samples (they will provide our students samples) and/or seek minimum pack sizes (or consider purchasing and splitting packs on the Small Brands facebook group above). Thank you Belinda for such informative video (along with all the rest). This is really impressive knowledge as I was suggested to add some tocopherols to some of my carrier oils to delay the rancid progress. In this case, I suppose Tocopherol Acetate is no good for the carrier oil. I also have with me DL alpha tocopherol. Would this be a good one to use or would you suggest going straight to Mixed Tocopherol instead? Many thanks.

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401
      @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401  3 года назад +3

      Any tocopherol (not acetate) will provide antioxidant protection to the formula; but they come as varying grades and strengths. In the absence of further information about the grade or content of your tocopherol, I will say mixed tocopherols tend to have a better performance per input - but this can vary depending on the exact quality and concentration of the tocopherol you are using. Look for this information on the Certificate of Analysis or ask the supplier. You can also learn more about ingredient quality and making these determinations in our Certificate in Advanced Cosmetic Science: personalcarescience.com.au/CosmeticScience/CertificateinAdvancedCosmeticScience-478/ Happy formulating!

    Thoughts on Vitamin E from sunflower? Would that be protective? Looking for a soy free alternative.

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401
      @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401  2 года назад +1

      If it is sunflower oil, it will oxidise easily. If it is tocopherol, it will protect your formula. If it is tocopherol acetate, it will not protect your formula. Check what the material is, to know if it will provide adequate protection.
