I'm not even a mom but this was so inspiring and I thank God I clicked on this video. I was going down a Christian Universalist path and also not really sticking to that but everything your wife said in this video really resonated with me and I want to fully be a true Christian and start reading my bible. I grew up in a foster home (my parents aren't my biological parents they're my foster parents) and I would say parenting someone who Isn't your flesh and blood (technically) is even more blessing because they realize that u don't have to take care of them but that they choose to take care of u. In my way its almost like for me that even though my literal flesh abd blood isn't shared by my parents its a transplant and my flesh became a part of their flesh. Warning DO NOT TELL MY MOM THAT I"M NOT HERS! U will get a tongue lashing as my HS found out.
What a blessing!!! I'm pregnant with my first. So much words of wisdom to take in as I enter into this next phase of life.
FYI the first time I saw Skillet was in Virginia at an Acquire the Fire in 2000. You shocked me that there was such a thing as Christian Rock! Now I'm 33, just saw you in Beaufort, SC Drive In Tour and still loving Christ in you. Thank you both for your faithfulness.

My husband is a pastor, and we didn't have separate children's church for several years. But we started to notice that parents were plugging their kids into electronics during church! I wondered if they realized that they were in essence putting their hands over their children's ears and blocking the Word of God. As a result, we began teaching the kids during church because clearly many parents weren't doing that. Currently, our church uses a new curriculum from Answers in Genesis, and it is excellent! It actually teaches kids apologetics. Y'all are awesome and a blessing!
This episode is wonderful but it's really quiet.
Kids are like wet cement. You mold, shape, and protect till they are strong.
I so much enjoy you guys. Heard about Skillet when I was 17 and now I’m 31 with my own family and still love you guys. You’re true down to earth, real Followers of Christ. It’s very rare these days. I wish I could go back and raise my kids again! They turned out to be strong young men who love Jesus, but I’d love the chance to go back and fix some things we didn’t get right! I guess that’s what grandparenting is for! Thanks for your very practical parenting insights!! And I agree, being a mom is so much more fulfilling (and more difficult!) than any job could ever be!!

Loved this. So refreshing to hear other believers out there who are raising their kids similar. Our oldest is 8 going on 9 😱 but it was amazing to hear your story for your family to give hope ❤️

My take away for me to think on is how do I focus on raising my kids out of faith and not fear? Praying on that one and going to dig deeper.
Not fear of the Lord - that is a given - but my own insecurities and personal “DNA junk” 😉

So much conviction in here, so much encouragement in here, so much good stuff in here!!! Thank you thank you thank you! Absolutely loved hearing you both talk Christian parenting. I think it would be a blast to see your kids' perspective on growing up on the road with Christian rock parents but I get that some are more reserved when it comes to youtube and your kids which totally makes sense. I realize you all are super busy on tour but maybe in the future would love to hear how you all did school with the kids, am I right to assume it was homeschool? Thanks for allowing us this insight into parenting life. As a mom of a 4 year old and 11 month old I resonated with the no sleep stage of life. This too shall pass. There are nights where I sing verses over both my youngest and myself to keep me in the right mindset. Had to do it a lot with my first born in those late nights. Create in me a clean heart. Thank you Kory for sharing!!!

I have one request regarding this podcast: Are you able to normalize the loudness of the podcast at all? I had to crank my speakers to hear this one and then got blown away by Feel Invincible. Of course that isn't a bad thing though haha, but it would be nice if the volume didn't spike and drop as much. Thanks for all you're doing! Stay close to the Lord and keep speaking out!

Thank you for this episode. My wife and I were one of those parents who had a non-sleeping child through 3 years. So jealous of the other parents! And the never-ending stream of advise?! Oy! Sleep deprivation is an effective method of torture.

Oh man, I LOVE the reformed church but God dropped the gospel on my head like a ton of bricks in a dream. TERRIFYING at the time but changed my life completely and wonderfully. I’ll never forget! The anniversary of it just passed on May 7th. I remember it every year.
I was happy to hear that there is a stage of raising kids you didn't love. I get tired of hearing...don't wish it away, you will miss it. Nope, I don't miss having babies. I love that my kids can feed themselves and I can sleep.
