I love the honesty. It's refreshing that you show the failures and the triumphs -- it let's us all know that perfection takes practice. I appreciate it not just all technical "how to" footage. There is playful banter and levity, seasoned with a healthy dose of respect. Thanks for the entertainment mixed in with learning.
I literally was just complaining about my upshot today and how I was feeling pretty clueless about how to get good at them. Thank you so much for this video! I’m really excited to get back out and try your suggestions.👍🏻
Good to see correct form in action always felt odd doing approach shots form. I tended to do a weak driving form as explained in the video. This should help me on my next disc golf run.
These videos are great help even for those of us that have been throwing for a few years. There has definitely been take aways from each one to help improve my game. Suggestion : A video on being more consistent on every throw. I believe that is a major problem for alot of players new and experienced. Thanks for sharing this
I know the video is old but the Disc Golf Basics videos have been super helpful for me and me wife we just started playing a couple of months ago and this has improved our game a lot. The videos are also fun to watch so that's great too.
i wonder if at some point, you could just post a video with all the tips in one (quickly) because i just remembered i forget the "roof" tip, im glad he mentioned it again! thanks for everything!
@@Latitude64 The worst is the moment I open the hand trhowing hard. I don't know why sometimes de disc go left and others go right :) The few times go straight
I’ve been practicing the last couple days with this technique and while my release isn’t always consistent, I already have much more confidence… THANK YOU for this incredibly helpful series!!!
These videos and watching Albert Tamm are what pushed me to running a Trilogy only bag. Something about Trilogy's plastics and the handfeel of a lot of their discs just clicks with me. I can easily say the Compass and Pures are my Lat 64 workhorses, but my Fortress gets a lot of love too. As always, thank you Jonathan and Tomas.
These Basics videos are fantastic....I was sitting here thinking "Gosh, I just never know how to pick the right disc" and then I see the "Up Next" video is precisely that! Great work, guys!
I really like the videos. This was a great topic and advice to try. I would like to see a video on field practice. Learning how to throw the different types of disc consistently. Based on the type of shot you need. My bag is full of Latitude 64, River Air, 2 Diamonds, Saint Pro, Fuse, Compass and of course a bunch of Pure’s. Still trying to learn the right disc for the shot.
Approach shots have always been a challenge. Mentally, I tend to overthink the throws and struggle with angle and power, usually throwing too soft because I don't want to overthrow the basket. I'm definitely going to try this out and see if I can gain more confidence on my approach shots. Thanks guys!! Great stuff, as always! 😊👍
Dude, your content of this disc golf tutorials is awesome 👍👍🍻, it’s hilarious but educational. I’m a huge fan of Lat discs but have been throwing full Prodigy. Keep up the good work.
Who do i contact about purchasing some older Spike putters that are stored away or laying around. Took a 7 year layoff and would like to get my hands on some older spikes but cant find any anywhere! Thanks, love the vids!
You guys continue putting out great content. Even for playing for a dozen years I lear a thing or two in each one. Keep them coming! What is the song at the end? Love it!
Hey. Thank you :). I know, right. Thought about adding the whole song, haha. It's a song from one of those get music for your videos services and it's just called "the funk". /Jonathan
Awesome content, I really like the editing on these videos and you two are such a team. It could be interesting to see some videos on the technique when you throw the disc on the other side (don’t know the name lol)
I have tried everything but if I want to get midrange even a bit further like 50-60 meters (about 150 feet), the disc is always turning too much right in a middle of the flight and its not coming back🤔
you might want to try a more stable midrange. If you throw right handed and the disc flipps off to the right in the middle. Maybe try a Compass och Claymore :)
One thing that they did not mention (even though Tomas did it) is to throw a bit nose-up. This will make the disc stall and you avoid going to far when you don't get the right height. It allows you to go for the bucket a bit more because it won't go too far past the basket. Also. Playing catch with a putter will teach you this. Try to make the disc lose it's speed before the other guy has to catch it. A flat/straight shot will hurt when you catch it, but a stalling nose-up shot wont.
Haha no. Didn't know that adding a video to a playlist (even tho it's not "published") ends up showing in the channel. Hence you seeing it a week ago or so :). You got a sneak peek 😅 /jonathan
Thing is I’ve noticed with him is that he does it goofing around and not be serious with the shots. Like why do you need to do a 360 with the follow through? Unnecessary honestly 🙄
Do NOT press the link! 😘🤘 /Jonathan

They touched on it with the throwing form. The pull in a straight line and consistent throws should help.

Keen to a weekly series of these guys.
I'm super pumped to buy my first disc now, thanks for the great content!

Thanks for this! I've not really known what to do for my upshots. This gives me some direction. I'll give it a try tomorrow!

Love how Tomas puts it
I love the tip to open up your front foot. It makes it much easier to get your hips through the shot. Please more videos with Tomas on mechanics!

How are you suppose to be able to do this when you're always surrounded by trees? I need a branch breaking disc and tutorial for it.
This is a good question. Than maybe a straight approach is the way to go :)
