    Awesome video! You were very straightforward and to the point in your responses. I think it’s cool to learn that Georgia Tech has a very strong CS culture and that you were able to quickly progress through the pathway even when starting with no prior knowledge at the beginning of your freshman year

    This is really helpful! Could you make a video on what internship interviews as a freshman are like?

      Sure! I'll add it to my backlog of planned videos :)

    I'm also planning on doing those same threads 🙂

      Awesome! No thread is perfect, but overall I think devices and intelligence are both solid picks.

    This man looks so much younger compared to his current videos. He aged 5 years in 1

    Oh thank god theyre going to teach the basics and all for computer science. I’m sure I’ll catch up if they’re going to move on fsdt

    Could you make a video breaking down the CS classes please? I wonder how they stack up (I'm guessing higher numbers mean more difficulty, but that seems rather simplistic)

      I actually did one a while ago (it's a bit dated, but it could help you get an idea: ruclips.net/video/cXHHwrJjov0/видео.html). I also have a more recent playlist where I've broken down every class I've taken, so that could help you out too :)

    Great video! Can you share sth about the MSCS program at tech? Like how competitive it is based on the things you heard? Thanks!

      Thanks! Unfortunately I don't know much about it (it's not something I really looked into), so I'd probably only be able to recite what's on their website. That being said, if anyone watching this video is familiar with it, feel free to add your thoughts to this thread!

    Thank you for the video! Do you know if it is possible to specialize in more than two areas?

    • @KyleKeirstead
      @KyleKeirstead  4 года назад

      That's a great question; it may ~technically~ be possible based on some rumors I've heard, but it would definitely be unusual. My guess is that you would probably choose your favorite two threads and then try to use your electives to take some courses from other threads. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Kyle. Great job. My son got into GT for the fall 23 class and he is a good math student, but no CS experience. The commitment due date is tomorrow. He is torn between the instate University of Maryland CS honors vs Georgia Tech. Do you think his lack of programming skill will be a setback for him at GT? He wants to go to GT, but he feels whether his lack of CS knowledge from his peers will set him backwards? Any advice. We visited the campus and really liked it

      Hi Harish, that shouldn't be a problem - a lot of first year CS majors at Georgia Tech have very little to no coding experience. The first CS class (CS 1301) starts from the very basics, so there's no expectation of prior knowledge. If he's worried though, I'd recommend spending some time this summer learning a little Python or Java to get a head start (those are the two languages that most classes use). If that's the only thing he's worried about and he likes everything else about GT, then I'd say go for it!

    Hi! I just got accepted to CS at Tech and Im most worried about being a woman in stem there, do you know how’s that community? are that a lot of women majoring in cs too?

    • @KyleKeirstead
      @KyleKeirstead  3 года назад +2

      Obviously I can't speak on this personally, but I've always felt that there's been a significant number of women in my CS classes. I don't doubt that there's more men than women in CS here (as is true for the school as a whole), but there is a Women at the College of Computing organization here you might be interested in!

    Hi Kyle! I am planning to use Transfer Pathway to transfer to Georgia Tech. I have some questions about the school and Computer Science that you have not mentioned in your videos. Is there any way that I can contact you? Thank you for your help in advance.
