Reminds me of a British movie I saw about a woman who suspected there was archeological importance under a mound on her property, and even with WWII about to break out, she hired an archeologist and they found a ship like this one underneath of one mound. About the people of the earliest in Britain. Viking types, and alot of valuable jewels were also found, so it may have been an important voyage that ended up stranded there. They couldn't lift the ship out without it disintegrating, so removed as much as possible of archeological importance for The British Museum, and then reburied the ship. She was dying of an inoperable gastric hernia, but managed to get it all done before she died. It's a very good movie based on a true story, and one day again in London visiting, I'll go see what she found in person.
