Mudslingers_tv69 Did you actually check to see if there was any damage or did you just ASSUME there was no damage? Running with no oil is extremely harmful and oil is what helps keep these air cooled motors cool as well. Bet your cylinder is scored up and that's the least of your concerns.
Dude, I have seen so many machines like this. I just picked up an 82 Yamaha Seca 400 for $50 that LOOKED this bad, but it turned out to be a real gem. I have absolute faith in you that you can fix this. If you feel you need help with any 4-Stroke questions, hit me on on G-Mail, I have sent you mails in the past. Good luck, it looks awesome. It always surprises me how someone can let something get in that bad of shape. Sad really.
Cool project for sure. I've owned several warriors. That pull start is not original to the warrior family, most likely from a big bear 350. Your shifter is missing a small link at the bottom, similar to a sport bike shifter. best of luck!
make sure the cylinder is clear before you try and start it. clean the tank and carb. drain the oil and make sure it's clear than put new oil in it. put some 2 stroke oil in the cylinder for the first start to help lubericate the top end since it's set for so long without oil up there aswell as helping make sure it turns over smoothly. put a whole bunch of "marvel mystery oil" in the cylinder to help get it even smoother and let it set over night you want to make sure when you're ready to start it that you don't break anything and make sure everything will be fine, don't cut corners to get it running faster, i can speak for most of us when I say I'd rather see you do it right and well then getting it running in the next video.
Should have removed gas tank and Plastics, airbox and carburetor first. Check air filter! They probably tried to start it and pulled what ever critter was in the air box into the intake valves and cylinder is my guess.
DO NOT TRY TO START IT YET !!! Inspect everything, new oil, fuel, air filter, etc..when its time to start, just get a drill n attach to pull start nut n boom...but i would pull the head, carb n exhaust n inspect b4 tryin to doing anything! Good luck. Lookin forward to seeing what happens...
Yeah I'm actually looking forward to the project build. it should definitely help out your RUclips stats. people look forward to watching builds and stuff.
When you said, " I'm going to add heat...everywhere", I though you were considering setting it on fire. 🙂 I love this project Joe!! I know it's a few years old, but I'm not sure how I missed it before.
if you have a stuck piston they used to do this during the second world war get a pan of engine ooil heat it up until boiling then pour it down the cylinder it works
Love the new build man....you should do a total restoration on it....will be a great challenge for you and great content for all of us.....great classic machine no doubt....keep up the good work and God Bless
I think it is safe to say it is IN NEED!!!!! Can't wait too watch, good luck, and hope it doesn't become a money pit! You are a very skilled, and totally brave mechanic........
If you completely go through and restore it to perfect condition and rebuild the engine, you could definitely sell it for at least 1800. That leaves you 1600 dollars to put into it, and i think you could completely restore it for that. Honestly if it was stuck that bad, you shouldnt just pour oil in and get it unstuck, theres a reason it got stuck. The cylinder is probably all messed up or the piston is in pieces. It wont last but for 10 minutes if u try and run the engine when it was siezed up before
From a financial standpoint part the thing out and run with the money, you’re going to spend so much more than what you’re ever going to get for it. from an experience standpoint you’re in for a world of fun, goodluck
I have owned one of those they are bullet proof tanks and having reverse is a cool option mine was the 1st sport quad I’ve ever owned I straight piped it and had a blast great buy man! If it won’t run u will never loose money on it now that motor is free and it has spark!
We had an 88 warrior That thing was nearly indestructible. Set the cylinder at where it froze and let it soak in some engine oil that's high in zinc. I wouldn't try to bump start it we don't know if a ridge of rust has built up in the cylinder or if the clutch basket moves. Take your time, replace the starter and use the electrics to spin it over without a spark plug. It's probably the safest way to spare breaking the rings or causing cylinder damage. I really want this thing to run I love 80s Yamaha quads.
Marvel Mystery Oil and a heat gun until a stuck engine hits 180 degrees and it usually will free stuck rings from sitting. I have used that for over 35 years with good results.
All it needs is some TLC & it would be a nice quad & 350 warriors & 350 raptor's have pretty much the same parts its pretty much the same quad, good video
I love to watch your videos made me go pick up a 2002 kawasaki lakota for a project been sitting for 2 years i already ordered a new carb and stuff for it it runs but the carb is completely trashed
Don't get me wrong I do like watching his videos but he has a hard enough time with getting carburetors and getting stuff actually run right nevermind rebuilding a whole machine and he only wants to spend three hundred bucks that thing is way too far gone
No lie its looking rough, but if he doesn’t have to replace any engine parts and spends the $300 or less wisely with cheap mods and restoration, I see it going for $1200 if they are $1400-$1500 in his area... So a $700+ gain
Should've checked to see if theres raptor 350. It's a warrior but with raptor plastics on it. But I'm still waiting on the 400ex lol. Keep up with the videos though.
You should take your time and completely restore it.(don’t rush) To anyone else it would be a money pit but you can completely go through it and make a handful of videos which will create more than enough revenue to justify sinking 2 grand into a $1,300 machine. It would show another side of your talent, rather then the turn and burn flip which you are already successful at.
I own a 03. They are bullet proof. Another kid in my town has a 98. He beat the piss out of it for a week without any oil in it. Still runs today. I hate Yami. I'm a Honda guy but I won't trade my warrior for anything. #beastmode

the first thing i would do with that pile of shit quad is burn it
Pretty Hyped for next Vid!!
@@isaacblagden3510 😂😂
2vintage btw the clutches get sticky after they sit for a wile. I found it out cause the same thing happened to my cr125
If you set a battery on cement like you did it's bad for them
Should be a cool project. Might even learn something.
I've owned a warrior , and I own a raptor 350 (same engine) , very good engines and super easy to rebuild
Kenneth Pickett complete the same thing
Be side plaster
YES!!! Please do more warrior stuff because I’m about to buy one and need to learn about them
When I store my machines in the shed I always put the choke on every time to prevent things going to the engine.
Those warriors literally don't stop running ever. It could be under water and still run.
LMAO 😆
David Weinzierl you mean Honda recon right
@@r.i.parthurmorgan5168 or a Kawasaki bayou
David Weinzierl I know some one with a blow up one right mow
Hence the name
Those things are bullet proof. Seen ppl run them with no oil for a whole ride and nothin happened😂
Mudslingers_tv69 mine lasted about 2 months on about no rings and low oil
Only downfall 4bangers are$$$ to rebuild
@@codykuiper9613 well thats cus your an idiot

Been there
Mice probably pissed in the engine and rusted things up
YES! I have been waiting for you to get a warrior

Are you going to do a full restoration or just get it running and sell it? It’s a really cool quad. Cool vids
He should get it in moderate condition. Not perfect but running and looking OK with decent plastics.
Hes going to do a top speed run of 27mph oh baby its fast.
Cool project for sure. I've owned several warriors. That pull start is not original to the warrior family, most likely from a big bear 350. Your shifter is missing a small link at the bottom, similar to a sport bike shifter. best of luck!

I use atf to get all seized engines unstuck
Brake fluid works to get an engine freed up also.
Or diesel
@@johntunstall9698 brake fluid ruins gaskets tho
Minnesota Madman I’ve never has that problem but after unseizing the engines I’ve always done a full rebuild.
Should have removed gas tank and Plastics, airbox and carburetor first. Check air filter! They probably tried to start it and pulled what ever critter was in the air box into the intake valves and cylinder is my guess.
If the carb is good can easily fetch 200. Ive got a nice set of lights for that if interested. White and all
DO NOT TRY TO START IT YET !!! Inspect everything, new oil, fuel, air filter, etc..when its time to start, just get a drill n attach to pull start nut n boom...but i would pull the head, carb n exhaust n inspect b4 tryin to doing anything! Good luck. Lookin forward to seeing what happens...
Make sure you clean that GAS TANK out really good before you put any in it
Yeah I'm actually looking forward to the project build. it should definitely help out your RUclips stats. people look forward to watching builds and stuff.
Thats exactly why I'm here haha. Love a good build series!
This one should keep busy for a while✅
Never seen one of these before, looks like a great project 👍
Yes! This is gonna be fun to see
Use kerosine to unlock the engine let it sit for a few hours. Works every time
When you said, " I'm going to add heat...everywhere", I though you were considering setting it on fire. 🙂 I love this project Joe!! I know it's a few years old, but I'm not sure how I missed it before.
Warriors always had reverse, they were the first sport quad to have one. I had an 01 warrior and it wasnt fast but it was very reliable
Nice project;) good luck, you inspire me to make more videos;)
if you have a stuck piston they used to do this during the second world war get a pan of engine ooil heat it up until boiling then pour it down the cylinder it works
Yesss I just did a full motor rebuild on mine. +4 rod and one mil over piston and new bearings. Mine is the same year model but super clean

Yes I have a 1987 Yamaha 350 Warrior sitting in my basement I haven't rode it in 11 years
Were you from ? Do you want to sell it?
Will it run video! Do it!!

I have a Yamaha warrior currently and it’s a great machine should be with it 100%
Keep these videos up love them
I owned one i picked it up for 250.00 it wouldn't turn over changed a fuse and cleaned the carb and it started right up.
Good going brother but please give it a good jet wash n clean before you do anything else to it joe 👍
I owned 2 warriors both most reliable fun quads I ever had
Fill that cylinder to the top with transmission fluid. And let it sit
Great buy. It's fun buying totally trashed stuff and getting it working. 4 strokes ftw!
Yes you got one
Love the channel. Your ability to figure things out is amazing. Remember, don't fall in love, and it is only worth what you are willing to pay for it.
Totally fix this thing up. Make it a series
Nice! Just the CDI box and carb are worth the $200 bucks if you bail on it. I need an engine case for mine. Fun quad though!
Awesome quad Shame it needs so much work . Maybe you can turn that 4 stroke in to a 2 stroke by removing 2 strokes
Haha what? 😂
Oliver Lewin make it a two stroke beast
Finally you got a warrior 350 I've been waiting for this 😁👍

This is the beast quad you can have
If you paid $200 and you only want to have $500 into it you're a God man if that thing runs and drives for 300 bucks best of luck bro
This will be a great series
Dude, u got screwed. I bought a blaster that was cosmetically perfect, it just needed an engine rebuild, for $300
Or maybe you just got a hell of a deal

Marvel Mystery Oil and a heat gun until a stuck engine hits 180 degrees and it usually will free stuck rings from sitting. I have used that for over 35 years with good results.
Brake fluid works awesome to unlock a piston cylinder!
In my opinion I wouldn't have paid more than a hundred bucks but where I live they are a dime a dozen
It wasnt raining.. maybe a bad omen, u always buy bikes when it rains
Haha true
I picked one up for 600 the other day , best purchase I’ve made in a while , need a better muffler any suggestions?
FD RC thanks
Batone white brothers exhaust sound amazing

I’ve owned four really great quads going to get another one sometime soon
I had one and loved it. Its a good woods bike!

Nice and cool project 👍
Would be a good parts quad as well
THAT WILL BUFF RIGHT OUT

I would watch a 40 min warrior 350 video 👍
I can't wait for part 2

Can’t kill a Warrior! Believe me I’ve tried.... Imma Honda guy😝
There is a small linkage for the shift that goes on there
I’ve owned a raptor 350 and a warrior 350 both same engines really stout hold up well btw 200 was a good investment
What's that nice looking 3 wheeler in the back?, also those warriors I think are 4wd also
Do NOT shorten that shifter up. NO NO NO!! Buy the linkage like its supposed to have,

Never use wd40
this is gonna be a fun project
its a shame how some people treat theyr stuff
