When I picked my Oval Engagement ring in 1990 everyone looked at me like I was crazy! NOBODY was wearing an Oval or had even seen one. I'm so glad to see that it is appreciated and in style now. I still love it.

I love the oval best. I know they have been so popular since 2019. They just make your hand look so good.Second choice is the Ascher. You don’t see as many of those.
Ascher looks soooo much smaller than other diamonds at the same weight..a 1 carat ascher is TINY....oval are cute but that shape has many issues( bow ties etc) pear is just so different and special it looks huge too...
@@sooosuss7154 When it comes to ovals you really need a well cut stone. Only the poorly done stones are misshapen or have heavy bow ties. You’re right about the Assher cut but it looks so modern in an Art Deco style ring. Just love it.
@@nikkil764ascher is also less sparkly and reminds me a lot of an emerald cut...the problem really is that there are no cut grades for ovals and because it is soooo popular there are soooo many more bad ovals out there instead of good ones...I would not buy an oval online for that reason...where I live, i only can buy loose stones online
@@sooosuss7154 I wouldn’t buy a stone online either unless it was GIA certified and probably not then. I have a jeweler that has become a friend after years of great service. A relationship with a good jeweler is critical.
my fiance just proposed to me with an Asscher! I was a die-hard on the emerald cut, but he found out about Asschers and fell in love with them. I couldn't be happier with it :)

I have loved princess cut since the mid 90s when it first got popular. It’s still my favorite. I have a one carat and I would give anything to upgrade but I have kids and health issues I don’t think I’m ever gonna upgrade. So I will be satisfied with what I have! 😂

I was pretty set on a round ring for so long, with thoughts about a princess cut. After trying on a couple today, the princess cut really stuck out to me more than I expected it to emotionally. So I'm really struggling deciding between round and princess cut now! XD

As someone who loves jewelry and especially rings I have an appreciation for all (okay... most lol) shapes. It's been extremely hard for me to pick the "right" shape for my engagement ring and your videos have immensely helped. Going to an in-person consult tomorrow but I've narrowed it down to: radiant, emerald, oval, pear. Although I'm leaning towards the emerald and radiant, something about them keeps pulling me in when I browse online.
