You don't need a fan clutch removal. I used an adjustable wrench and a ball peen. Some carefully aimed hits on the wrench got it broke free.

Is taking the transmission line really necessary?

I assume that a 1998 4.6 liter is the same procedure?
    Great video. New subscriber.

Does a bad water pump make a clicking sound? And would a bad one leak fluid or not

Im curious why you took transmission line off radiator. Im replacing mine right now, what was the reason for that?

unless you take out yhe radiator there is absolutely no reason to remove the trans cooling line. second you do not need to remove the fan shroud. loosen the fan and push it inside the shroud towards the radiator. lots of un-needed steps

From 7:35 to 8:01... none of that was necessary for the repair... it was just for stress relief, right? (Kidding. Great vid. Much appreciated.)

I've seen both installing like this and then installing with silicone on the surface and I'm not a fan of silicone unless it's rear diff or something. Is there anything I need to know or should I not use the silicone method that people are insisting I use if I think gasoline might end up in my coolant because I'm not going to tell you I know why gasoline is in my coolant but after using Blue devil it sort of helped and I had a lot of petrol in my coolant and of course I've never gotten a solid answer because out of a million mechanics in America whenever you ask them something apparently they just don't know but when it comes time for you to do it they know exactly how you should do so what should I do because I've heard very specific comments to never use silicone on an area that could be exposed to gad

REMOVING THE TRANS COOLER LINE AND COOLANT RESERVOIR HOSE ARE COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY STEPS. Taking the upper radiator hose off at the radiator gives PLENTY of room to get the fan shroud out without removing the cooler line. No need to remove the reservoir hose from the radiator at all.

I swear I dont have a belt on my pump... am I crazy? I swear it looks like a ribbed belt is there but its not... like just a free pulley... am I nuts? I have a 4.6... but should be the same motor...
