Remember that Brendon's rental guitar was untuned and damaged so Dwayne had to play the entire piece after figuring out the key the guitar was in by ear live on stage. He also found out he was failing some classes and his Dad grounded him and took away his guitar earlier in the episode. He was also getting taunted by Jimmy Monet all episode. Despite all of those hurdles he was able to do this. And the look on Jimmy's face is absolutely priceless.
It does alot to me also cause i used to watch the show as it came out as a kid, with my older brother. who let me stay up past my bed time even though my parents told him to have me in bed by a certain time, but he was the one waking me up in the morning anyways so he let me watch late at night. He passed away last year and i dont think ill ever watch this show without thinking about him..
its like a unicorn of destiny striding across the velvet starlit fields of the heavens. it moves me, it will move millions. 6 years later and its still gold.. jimmy's solo was a mess of showing off and scrambling. Dwayne dug into a guitar hes never played before to find its soul.
Its called a harmonizer, or whammy pedal. I'm almost certain there's 2 guitars laid over eachother on this little part, but that background riff does have some harmonizer effect on it.
i too wish this song was longer i was watching this on adult swim a couple days ago and heard this song and was like, wow that sounded just so incredible, i dont know what it is about the song but i would definitely put a lighter up if i was in a concert in heard it
@Emceetem I thought I made the fact that I was joking clear enough with my last line. I did try using a thin pick once and the thing sliced in half, but I've never broken a normal pick either.
why inst there like a download for this solo so i can listen to it on my ipod i really like this short finger tapping solo and ive been trying to learn it at the same speed as this cause i dont like other peoples speeds on this when they cover it however most of them r really good though soo i give huge props for being able to do this solo
Man, I remember growing up with this show. It was weird, sometimes funny. But Dwayne scared me with his hair lol. Also, I liked how he looked like he was in a 1piece pajama set.
Amazing solo. I just finished learning all the parts to this after about 4 hours of practice, now I just gotta work on putting it all together. There's a guitarpro tab out there on the net somewhere, just gotta find it.
Man Dwayne should have been in MMA! At 0:16 he took that bottle right to the dome and kept a solid stance! Whata chin! He would have one crazy ass fighting style 2 of course!
@midmike994 Standard size, but VERY thin. I use tortex mediums now, and back then I used heavy Fender picks, so I attacked the string with that thin pick and the damn thing just cut right in half (high E string).
There are single notes behind the main guitar line adding to the feel of it, I don't hear chords. If this guy (Brendon Small) managed to play it in one take on one guitar, I imagine he used one hand to do the main tapping part, and tapped the harmonizing backup line with his other hand.

this solo seriously hits pitches that just gives you chills
Dwayne is awesome. I would've totally watched a spinoff about him and his band.
dethklok is pretty close to that :P
No joke, and it was really cool of him to always play in Brendan's films.
There are SO many moments in this series that seriously bring emotion to me. That is so rare for anything, let alone a cartoon.

@@zombiecancers217 damn. R.i.p 😢
I must admit it. I've never heard one single piece this short that can blow you away like this. Dwayne Rocks hard.
The best improvisation of anything I can remember
this needs to be longer. like a month long. its like candy for my ears
Limmy Monet's solo was nothing but fast. Fast guitar is not always good guitar. Dwayne proves this perfectly.
Is that why some people hate bands like dragon force?

If a guitar could sing for world peace.
I got chills & goosebumps the1st time i heard this
It's so soothing... like an angel's voice in metal.
Still, my favorite guitar riff of all time.
This brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it.
I heard it for the first time today and same
This song always brought a tear to my eye. It's so good!!!!
TAKE THAT SKWISGAAR!!!
Still the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard
brings a tear to my every time its so damn scrumptious
its like a unicorn of destiny striding across the velvet starlit fields of the heavens. it moves me, it will move millions.
6 years later and its still gold.. jimmy's solo was a mess of showing off and scrambling. Dwayne dug into a guitar hes never played before to find its soul.
You know you're special when you get a mullet to reconsider throwing a bottle.
This is the type of song that is short but it leaves a lasting impact.
amazing solo i wish i could here this live
I liked Jimmy's face when he see's Duane perform.
This solo is badass, BREDAN* Small does a good job at playing this all and I give him props, I just wish it were longer.
Its called a harmonizer, or whammy pedal. I'm almost certain there's 2 guitars laid over eachother on this little part, but that background riff does have some harmonizer effect on it.
Thank you from the future
I love how Dwayne doesn't need stings to play.
That is the only guitar solo that has brought tears to my eyes. Brendon Small, you are a musical genius.
hauntingly sweet! rough transition to smooth! loved the distortion!
know a longer version of this, bc it is pretty nice...?
i get goosebumps at 0:32 every time. so god damn good.
it has an almost magical quality...
this makes me joygasm i wish it was a whole instrumental
That put a tear in my eye...seriously...that was beautiful.
i too wish this song was longer i was watching this on adult swim a couple days ago and heard this song and was like, wow that sounded just so incredible, i dont know what it is about the song but i would definitely put a lighter up if i was in a concert in heard it
That was the most Epic sound in History of Guitar freestyling.
Best solo ever.
Melts my fucking face, every time.
I Love Every Part Of His Solo!
Sounds like something Steve Vai would play. Awesome!
i have goosebumps.
This solo is soooooo sweet
Damn, Brendon Small can play. Holy shit.
just wish it was longer...
man that twin part is sick
This is what world peace sounds like.
What type of music do I have to listen to for that type of solo I need more
Probably Neo-Classical metal...
Not the same , but try Jason Becker - Perpetual Burn ( studio version )
That is the greatest description I have ever heard of this.
I love the way this sounds
Thank you Brendon.
Really amazing solo! Go D!!
brendon small is a god
geese home movies was my first best show I watched as a kid. sucks its not still going...
ha, thats my favorite part of the solo too. its the dirty harmonics and octaves hes doing with the 2nd guitar. gotta love brendon small.
Look up Metalocalypse, he does just about every instrument on the recordings and does all vocals. Its his show.
This sounds like a scottish song and that's why I like it.
this is just amazing
brendon small is epic win.
@Emceetem I thought I made the fact that I was joking clear enough with my last line. I did try using a thin pick once and the thing sliced in half, but I've never broken a normal pick either.
Never mind. I found the credits to this episode, It's by Brendon Small, he does a lot of guitar stuff for Adult swim, including Deathclock.
Dwayne should’ve at least been one of the top 3 winners
duane owns and so does brendon small for makeing this shit!!
why inst there like a download for this solo so i can listen to it on my ipod i really like this short finger tapping solo and ive been trying to learn it at the same speed as this cause i dont like other peoples speeds on this when they cover it however most of them r really good though soo i give huge props for being able to do this solo
me to. it make my heart sink
cool
And Dwayne lost HOW!? That was epic!
I thought i was the only one. Lol
That solo was heart warming =')
best music ever recorded
iv been watching this video since it was posted
Thats gotta be from something. I just don't know what. Awesome vid, I've watched like 15 times now.
Thanks!
ITS DUANE!!!
Man, I remember growing up with this show. It was weird, sometimes funny. But Dwayne scared me with his hair lol. Also, I liked how he looked like he was in a 1piece pajama set.
FUCKING EPIC.
so god damn amazing
Amazing solo.
I just finished learning all the parts to this after about 4 hours of practice, now I just gotta work on putting it all together.
There's a guitarpro tab out there on the net somewhere, just gotta find it.
haha, I played this at my school guitar class final and got an A
We wouldnt be able to handle dwayne's solo if his guitar wasnt broken.
Man Dwayne should have been in MMA! At 0:16 he took that bottle right to the dome and kept a solid stance! Whata chin! He would have one crazy ass fighting style 2 of course!
Go Dana!
It's Duane...
Harmonizer! That makes sense, hahaha. Thanks man!
damn this is a great guitar solo :D
Bro nailed it
*0:24*
*Gets out lighter*
@midmike994 Standard size, but VERY thin. I use tortex mediums now, and back then I used heavy Fender picks, so I attacked the string with that thin pick and the damn thing just cut right in half (high E string).
it's in the same key as "goodbye goodbye" by ų-ziq -- both good songs
You got robbed Duane.
Oh any1 else noticed the cyclops in the front row too?
Yeah too bad its not longer, this is an awesome little riff
I THINK the chords would be G, F, Em, Eb, G. I'm not sure.
god i wish this was longer
i can feel this song in my stomach lol
Still amazing
Thumbs up if you think that Duane makes Brendon's guitar sound better than Brendon.
yeah there is for sure some harmony in there.
this riff is fuckin sick
Small, Galsky, and Benjamin should do Home Movies: Live and perform all the songs.
Its video was popular in the future. I say that
I liked Jimmy's solo, but to me it didn't sound right when he made too many guitar squeals.
I swear this solo could cure cancer.
anyone know of an extended version?
There are single notes behind the main guitar line adding to the feel of it, I don't hear chords. If this guy (Brendon Small) managed to play it in one take on one guitar, I imagine he used one hand to do the main tapping part, and tapped the harmonizing backup line with his other hand.
actually just go to google and search guitarmageddon tab. Its the first result @911tabs.
You shoulda known/tried that already.
