Dude, thank you so much. I did not know this was possible. I came here looking for just a way to let me animate to my soundtrack for synching. It never occurred to me to place the soundtrack in the Video Editor while working in Layout. I've only ever selected the Video Editor from the splash screen, and only ever used it to edit video. This tiny bit of your video has checked off a major box in my first short production. The rest of the info in your video (using the audio in the Graph Editor) has got my mind racing with crazy uses for the future. Thanks again, and I'm happy to subscribe to your channel. Cheers.

No sure if I'm suppose to bake an F Curve to a shape key, but it works for lip sync too. I've created a book trailer and next a complete animated series. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for this very helpful tutorial! I knew how to bake sound to f-curves, but not the finer points about nodes, limits modifier, envelope modifier, and bake action. Very cool! 😎
So here's a question why is it my baked sound graph's curve end before my song does? Even after I adjusted the timeline to both X's. my song isn't finished at those X points. The curves go flat but I still have some song left that isn't being registered by the graph editor.

Would you happen to know why my animation data in the graph editor is playing slower than my audio? Is it just lag? When I move the graph editor cursor the audio syncs back up for just a second but then falls out of sync again because of the slow playback in the graph editor

How do you stop objects you you scale for going away completely when the music stops
I have a problem, and that is that when I put a sound it affects all animations and I want each animation to have a sound.

I'd watch the part about adding a limits modifier again...that's exactly the problem I ran into until I found the limits modifier. Hope that helps!

Is it somehow possible to keep an item animated for the X axis, but simultaneously sync it with the music for the Y axis?
I’m sure there is. I can play around with it when I get a chance. I’m assuming you mean something that’s already animated?

Yes it’s lag. It’s worse in render view, a little better in solid view but it won’t be perfect until you actually render it out.
