    To add to my original comment I would like to mention that a company called Electrical Hub sells an industrial adhesive called Click Bond. It is incredibly strong and works great for those that can’t or won’t weld to their tractor, implements, etc. I’ve used it as well as welding over the years and highly recommend it.

    • @DIYMyWay
      @DIYMyWay  Год назад

      Yep, heard of it and it’s expensive as I recall. I’ve found J B Weld is VERY strong when used correctly and is inexpensive. In fact, I used it to secure two chain boxes to my FEL towers before I had a welder and they’ve held rock solid for over four years. Here’s the link to that video in case you are interested: ruclips.net/video/iUS9RyFy5sw/видео.html. Thanks for watching!

    Late to the party but nicely done sir. I recently purchased a Mahindra 4550 tractor and already itching to add some tractor bling. I do not have your skills to weld etc. but the idea is what counts and I like that you went the extra mile to keep the scabbard closer to the interior of the tractor. I wish you were my neighbor! Lol.

      Thank you, James! I didn’t have welding skills either until I bought a welder and started welding. It’s not hard and you can get decent with a little practice. I have a harbor freight Titanium Easy Flux 125, which is a great welder to learn on. Here’s my review video on it: ruclips.net/video/sOnyR8_nIXE/видео.html. Thanks for watching!

    Looks Good Martin!
    A well equipped tractor is like a Swiss army knife on wheels!
    I've had a home made scabbard on mine for a while (not as slick as yours) and couldn't go without it.
    Does your saw have dogs on it? (log grabber spikes) looked like it sat down flush...
    on another note, be careful using that bed rail for building. Probably fine for this kind of build, not much weight hanging on it. I've used it for stuff trying to be save money on steel , and had it crack from weight and vibration. When cutting or grinding it sparks like grinding cast iron. Not sure how its made but gets brittle/work-hardened.
    It's fun to see your progress stocking/ setting up the Garage Mahal !
    Keep them videos coming.
    Dan

    • @DIYMyWay
      @DIYMyWay  4 года назад

      Hi Dan! Yes, it has dogs on it. They sit inside the scabbard. Good points about the bed rails. Wouldn’t use it for anything heavy duty, but these rails cut and welded like steel. Yep, plenty more to do in the Garage Mahal. LOL! Thanks for watching!

    Was always told we couldn’t weld on Loader, or ROLP’S frames. Any truth to that?
    I remember when you mounted your chain boxes, no welding on your Loader Frame.

    • @DIYMyWay
      @DIYMyWay  Год назад

      I’ve hear that too, but I think it fine to do a small amount of welding on the loader frame like I did so long as the loader frame is removed. If I had had my welder when I installed the chain boxes, I would have used it, but the JB weld has held up great. As for the ROPS, I’ve heard you shouldn’t drill into the ROPS but u-bolts will hold anything you need to the ROPS. Thanks for watching!

    Hey Martin, Just curious why you welded the chainsaw holder but glued the chain tool box on another video. I would think the chain tool box would be a lot heaver thus needing to be welded just like you did here.

    • @DIYMyWay

    Hi Martin,
    Well thought out, great idea! How often do you remove your FEL? Do you remove the tool holder before taking the FEL off the tractor? I'll be doing something similar when my B2601 arrives (hopefully in a week or two!) and noticed the clearance between the tool holder and tractor hood/cowl is pretty small!
    Thanks for sharing your build and upgraded scabbard installation (in a separate video)!

    • @DIYMyWay
      @DIYMyWay  4 года назад +1

      Thanks, Domenic! I don't remove it very often. Mainly when I have to do maintenance on the tractor. There's about 1.25" clearance, which is enough for me to take the FEL off or put it on without removing the tool holder. I just go slow and carefully. However, this is on a flat concrete floor. If I were going to have to take it off on uneven ground, I'd take the tool holder off first. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    Why did you choose to weld the tool holder frame instead of JB Weld like you used for the chain boxes? Great video! Thanks!

    • @DIYMyWay
      @DIYMyWay  4 года назад

      Hi Norm! That’s an easy question to answer: because I didn’t own a welder when I mounted the chain boxes and did own one when I mounted the tool holder. While JB Weld would probably have worked fine, it isn’t nearly as much fun as welding! Thanks for watching!

      The FEL was completely removed from the tractor. There was no danger of frying anything in the electrical system.
