- In this video I am going to make a DIY version of the Sawhaul. A tractor mounted chainsaw holder. This might be one of the best tractor mods I have ever done, no more chainsaw riding between my feet when I'm driving through the woods!
Things you need:
Cutting board: amzn.to/3Vyic5J
U Bolts (check your size first): amzn.to/4epJIe9
Miscellaneous Hardware
ALSO, I totally stole this idea from @upinsmokefirewood

Good idea, I always thought those sawhauls were very overpriced.
Yeah, I'm not sure what kind of propriety material you're getting for all that money, but I bet this will work just as well.
@@EverythingElliott Laziness costs money.
That's a great idea! I'll make one for the back of my Quad for when I have to clear trails. I usually strap it down in a milk crate.
You could easily secure it to the rack on an ATV! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing, good project. I bought a cutting board and then saw where I could make one by heating and flattening a piece of 3” schedule 40 PVC and heating it in an oven. After heating the pvc I sandwiched it between two boards to flatten it, as it go flat I put a spacer board in it so it didn’t go completely flat. The gap that the spacer went was where the chain bar was inserted. I sawed a 1” strip about half way through at one end and then reheated cut the strip in the middle and then straighten each side so it could fold out and then used the strips to attach to tractor. I may try your design on another tractor since I still have a cutting board.
The PVC isn't a bad idea...depending on your climate. I know PVC can get brittle in the extreme cold, which I experience in the winter. I'd be afraid of it snapping when going through the woods.
Thanks for this.
I remember when that 200 peice of plastic was first introduced.
I loved the idea. But couldnt see spending more than $40 on it.
And that’s exactly why this was born. Loved the idea, hated the price.
The cat is mint, great idea, I am going to try this
Glad I could help!
Outstanding work bud this is exactly what i was looking for. I have made many things out of cutting boards. Great idea thank you for sharing. We've gotta do some light messaging.... with a hammer. Love it.
Just needed a little love is all! Thanks for watching!
Looks great man you are definitely a self-contained self-sufficient unit
always busy, always learning new skills and trying new things!
"Now I kinda figure that with this rubber on here, we're gonna hafta do some light massaging." Uh huh. That's what she said. Nice idea on the sheath though.
Giggity!
How did I not see this! Awesome! You can get bigger cutting boards at Sam's club if that one doesn't get it done but worse case buy 2! Looking good!
That’s good to know that Sam’s has them! Thanks for the idea on this one!
Great job. A bungee over the top would give a bit of extra protection from bouncing that little saw out.
Not a bad idea!
That worked well. Mentioned your chain storage tube to my brother in law who has the same Kubota.
Thanks for sending it along! It's been well over a year and the tube is still working great!
Great idea with inexpensive materials. I'm probably going to make one for my quad soo
I just couldn't justify spending that kind of money, when I knew I could replicate it for much cheaper.
This is great. Even I could do this. Thanks! 🇨🇦
It was not a complicated build, I wanted to keep it as simple as possible! Thanks for watching!
Bro that mustache is what's making you sweaty and hot 😂. I like the DIY videos, good job!
The mustache is a status symbol, sometimes you just have to deal with the side effects of high class
Great ideal & job ! Prob last longer than the $200 one. I think i will make one of those thanks for the ideal .
I think that cutting board is the right move. nice and thick, and will be gentle on the chain!
I am definitely going to make one like that for my tractor.
It’s a great solution isn’t it?! Share it with a friend that might find it as useful!
Good job
Thank you!
I'll be
making one, Thanks
Love this!
Thanks! Share it with someone else that likes to DIY and would benefit from it!
Hello Elliott, nice work 👏 made the one on my Bobcat to hold the 500i and MSA220 Battery saw, $28 total cost👍🏼🇺🇸
I've seen that on your track loader in your videos, didn't know exactly what you used to make it, so I went with the cutting board.
Excellent!
Thanks for watching!
Nice job
Thank you!
Cool great idea!👍👍
Thanks!
Cool idea. Well done.
Thanks! I think it’s money worth spending!
Nice now that is some MacGyvering.
Anything to get the job done!
Good plan, but if you had put it on the right ROP, you could get your bigger saw in there.
You’re probably right, but like I said, how often am I really bringing the big saw deep into the woods with me…
Try putting the big saw in it again, but upside down to have more clearance from your light.
Now you’re thinkin. Not sure how, or why I didn’t think about that…thanks!
Nice job.
Thank you! If you know someone else that could benefit from this, feel free to share it with them!
Nice
Thanks for watching!
Can it hold a 20 inch saw?
@@chadtownsend4779 sure can
Will my MS880 with 59" bar fit? 😅
You mean you dont have a quiver for that saw? you just dont haul it around on your back like robin hood?
whats the purpose of the zip tie on the handle?
It’s a quick firewood marking tool. Flip it out and the end of the zip tie is 16” from the bar
Great video! Is there any video on the tractor tool box?
@@stevedesprez2108 no sorry, its just a harbor freight ammo can that I made a sheet metal holder for
Tractors, motorcycles, pools. Any accessories for these items are extremely overpriced and most of the time, they're cheaply made , especially pools. That holder will last longer than the tractor.
I’m super happy with the way it turned out, and haven’t had an issue yet!
Incredibly unsafe work practices.
How so?
Borys, it’s a shop. Tons of unsafe things in a shop. It all depends on the person in the shop. I think Elliot is fine
