HI Rachel, thanks for the update on the gaint yellow box!! I am uber-interested to hear about your results and progress as I am quite focused on nutrition, exercise, and health in my daily life. Recently I have participated in some alumni webinars which focused on the gut microbiome and how it affects our overall health. It is fascinating!! I have also learned that this field of research is going to explode over the next five years or so… there’s so much that is now being discovered about the bilateral communication between our brain and our gut. I’m really hoping you experience positive results… please keep us posted on your progress. On a slightly different note, the ice has been thawed off the lakes for about two weeks now and the wild swimming at my favourite lake could not be better. The water is breath-suckingly cold, the sun is out, and I have been joined by a pair of Common Loons during my swim which is really quite a rare treat. (The Common Loon is a strikingly beautiful bird and is the iconic symbol of the Canadian Wilderness. They mate for life, and each Spring they swim about with their baby on their back.) Thanks for the update… thank goodness wild swimming has begun for 2023 here in northern 🇨🇦. Ⓜary💦🏊♀
Hi Mary, you might be interested in the Zoe Science and Nutrition podcasts, they tackle just this topic and more. I've had my results back and it is fascinating. Another video coming soon. I love that you have been able to get back into the water, you are really spoilt with the amount of wildlife - I get excited if I see a swan take off! One day I'll come over for a swim and visit the loons!
Really interested and excited to find your diary. I have long covid too, for almost 3 years and have signed up to zoe for similar reasons. My test kit arrived today. Will follow your journey with interest
Thank you for going to the effort of making this video, it gave me alot to think about. Though it is costly, investing in ones health is probably not a bad thing.
I'm fascinated how this will progress. I have an inkling it will benefit you. I took part in free Big IF and free Habit Tracker. Both made a HUGE difference to me
Looks interesting. I did a Happy Gut course which focuses on FOMAPS and learning how to avoid those that negatively affect your Gut health - it worked really well and now nearly 2 years later I still eat mostly (95%) whole foods and avoid the fodmaps that affect me and feel so much better for it. Hope this works for you!
Great to hear a success story. It is taking a bit more concentration and planning but I’m feeling better for the changes. The vids are a few weeks behind my actual progress.
I read that long covid was very like MCAS, mast cell activation syndrome, and treated myself as if I had that. It takes 6 months which is such a long haul but it did work.
How long does the Zoe blood sugar sensor last? Do you have to replace it every now and then, or is it one time thing? Secondly if I have recently finished antibiotics course, do I wait to do the microbiome test,
It's a one-time thing that lasts for 2 weeks which is plenty of time for ZOE to analyse your blood sugar clearing vs what you've been eating, and for you to get a handle on what affects it the most.
I’m looking at joining this but I’m more interested in controlling my blood sugar spikes and improve energy levels. If you do a yearly membership do you get the CGMs included ? Or do you pay extra for them given usually you need to replace them every 14 days or so ?
Hi you get one CGM and during the 2 week period you’re wearing it you are guided through some blood sugar experiments to see what foods and food combinations do for your blood sugar levels. When you get your results you find out about which foods affect you and how so there’s no need for a continual CGM.
I swam once but the sensor lost signal for a few mins and that was enough to make me not swim for the rest of the time. I didn’t want to waste my investment. Turns out it was stuck on really hard so wouldn’t have come off. I would look up the manufacturer and check what they say about it.
I've been looking at this and wondering whether its possible to still go wild swimming with the monitor on, or whether that would be an infection risk?
I do t think swimming is recommended with it on, but you could always contact the Zoe team and ask them. My sensor had a funny 5 minutes after I got out from a 10 min swim. Was worried I’d trashed it!
I don’t like how much it costs. It’s only for people who are well off. I’m struggling paying for electric and food as it is. I have Fibro and M.E. and have been struggling with exhaustion for 10 years and bed bound. Why can we not get help for free instead of pumped full of drugs or left and forgotten. Long Covid sufferers get so much more help than I ever have.
I hope that as things progress the costs become more affordable. Having said that the support and information so far means i have found it fascinating and good value for money, so far. In terms of the long Covid clinic, I have receive support in the form of online courses about managing fatigue etc, which have been of some use. I’m sorry to hear that you are in poor health and I hope you get some support.
I was listening to the long covid podcast which suggested that there should be a lot of cross over from findings from LC research that is also applicable to managing and treating ME/CFS 🤞wishing you both well.
These tests unfortunately are very expensive for computational power and other resources involved, as for now there is no way to get it done for free unless someone rich pays it for you. Only a few years ago, just the gut microbiome exam costed around 5000 pounds, so the hope Is that with time passing by it lowers more and more
@@ameliaporta7539then how about the Government stops sending money overseas to countries who don’t need it and use that money to fund these tests instead?
Thanks for sharing! I follow Sawallah-Adderley channel, it’s Nadia Sawallah from loose women and she and her husband Mark are doing this too! They’ve not made a video on this yet but i find the concept very interesting. Knowledge is power! 🌟
Hi Rachel, I'm glad that you are trying to do something positive that might help how you feel. Have you been to your GP though? Lots of other reasons why you could feel so tired and not yourself. Lots of people putting everything down to long covid when there could actually be another reason that could be sorted out. Best wishes. Jo
Hi Jo, yep I’ve been to the Dr’s most recently they did blood tests which were fairly unremarkable and said ‘I’m tired too, there’s a lot of it about. You probably just have to get used to it’. I left feeling pretty peeved.
Best wishes for better health and recovery. Looks like a superb science project and kit. You maybe interested in the work of Dr. Eric Berg as well. He does a live feed each Friday where people as various questions. It's been helpful. He has post covid care vids.
The long covid advice you've been given is totally wrong. You need to be working yourself to pulp doing as much exercise as you can and that way you will get back to normal. Is total nonsense telling you to rest and take it easy.
@@EverydayAthleteRach unfortunately medical advice is out of step. They don't have a clue. You know what you work with everyday and you have to work through it and you can't work through if you are just taking it easy.

I’m so glad you’re doing this Rachel, I have mine due to be delivered in June and I’m looking forward to seeing your experience.
My box arrived yesterday and I will be starting on Friday

Good luck!! I think you’ll get on fine with it. I felt brilliant within weeks. Let me know how you get on
Hi, I also have long covid. What were your experiences like with Zoe?
The podcasts are very interesting too. Zoe Health is great as there's such a lot of free information
They are super, aren’t they.

For me, it had definitely been worth the investment. Update video out today.

I’m already starting to feel the difference. The videos are a couple of weeks or so behind my progress.

Ah, that's interesting. I think I spotted Davina McCall with the box too. I was attracted to it by the Prof Tim Spectre, it seems great so far.
Literally just looking into this
Test day video out now. I’m a few weeks in and can already feel the results x

Zoe stuff is cheaper individually if you buy like products which are of higher quality and get a nutrionist from a gym you will save more money.
Interesting. I guess that might be cheaper if u were a member of a gym….
Hi Rachel have you tried cupping therapy.
No I haven’t. Would you recommend it?

Spector is a such a con artist. I would avoid anyone who uses a word like secret, mystery, unlocking, hidden etc
The info within the programme and the suggestions for my biology work well for me.
Fools and their money are easily parted 😅
I've found it remarkably helpful, so for me it was a good investment. Granted, it's not for everyone.
I wish I read it before I have become one🤦♀️

This comment is out of step with all medical advice and research. It is also insensitive.
Which membership did you go for
1 year
