Thank you SOOOOOO much Rachel! Yesterday I started reading all the Zoe info in prep for taking the tests. I felt a bit nervous. I googled "Zoe test day" and Lo! Your video popped up. Your humorous step by step presentation made me feel confident about doing each of the steps. I have just done the breakfast muffins (Hmmm - would not have chosen to finish them!) But as I had fasted for 15 hrs (long story) I was still glad to eat them! Hope you're discovering useful info in your Zoe journey. 😀
The changes have been eye opening and I think it’s helped me to kick long Covid! Feel sparkly clean inside. Good luck with it. Keep logging right through the next couple of weeks. It really helps.
It helps to keep your arm as straight as possible when doing a finger prick blood test so gravity can give you helping hand, so use a low table and remain standing throughout 😊
I’m on test day myself right now. Really useful to see this ahead of time. I found the most disgusting part so far has been eating both sets of muffins. Squeaky and dry. The glucose sensor and poop test were a walk in the park in comparison!
What interesting times we live in… when we can be mailing our 💩 and 🩸 samples all about… and eating muffins all in the name of science. Keep us posted Rachel. Thanks for the science experiment today. Ⓜary💦🏊♀
I forgot to mention that in 🇨🇦 our 💩 test kits don’t include one of those fancy high-tech hammocks to catch the 💩. You’ve got better kits in the UK, far superior to our low budget version here in 🇨🇦… haha! Ⓜary
The poo hammock made the dirty job a whole lot easier. They're only high end because it's a paid for kit - the tests cost about £300. More news when I have some and can pull a video together, Rach
My kit came with 2 packs of 2 large cookies, white and blue. “Palatable” is being generous. I take my blood for glucose test often but I had to poke my finger twice with the lancets to get enough blood, which refused to drip even with massaging. Considering I was on an emergency run to the vet exactly when I needed to do my test, I was unable to heat my hands up. Six hrs after I ate the blue cookies to track gut transit, I saw blue in the toilet. WTF? Oh ! I had been eating purple mustard greens from my garden and it showed up as blue. Pretty sure my gut is not clearing food in six hrs. Logging food is an utter nightmare. I am on day 2, trying to log food, 2 hrs in and still cannot figure it out. The short video explaining how to do it disappeared after going too fast for me to understand first time thru, because it did not show what I am seeing on my screen. Complaints: instructions were jumbled; took quite a bit of studying to understand and cannot figure out how to use the food log in, nor can I locate any instructions on how to do it. Quite angry. Costs a lot of money. You would think they could get the ho to app use easily retrievable. Beginning to think all those support videos on youtube are just sales videos.
Hey! I found the logging fairly straightforward a once I used the heart icon to save favourite items. It reduced the amount of times I had to type things in. I haven’t found it automatically making recipes, just listing the amount of each item I’m eating. Have you contacted their support team, I’ve found them very responsive and quick to problem solve. I am not sponsored by Zoe, I have just been enjoying the journey and thought people might be interested to hear about the experience.
I just got my results back and was a bit stunned. Not only was my blood sugar control "poor" (no surprise there) but my fat clearing was "BAD". OMG. Does that mean I must live on beans, nuts, and non-starchy veggies? Yep, that is how it has worked out. My gut got an "excellent", which was no surprise but very reassuring. hope your scores allow you to eat at least a little "normal" food. I am waving goodbye to all starches except beans; at least I get to keep eating most of my usual veggies. Really toasted about having to give up fermented carrots and onions...I LOVE those.@@mirosae7340
I'm very curious in the Zoe approach. The gut biom interests me but i feel the research implying your gut biom can change dramatically within 3 or 4 days of a change in diet diet undermines the Zoe premise. However their success rate is hopeful. I'm following your journey with huge interest.
Hi Natalee thanks for following. There is suggestion within the programme that changes can be made to the gut micro biome over the course of the programme which is several months long and sets up for a lifetime of healthier eating as per the individual’s biology.
I am watching because I have the kit but my days start off too busy, with others, to have even looked at it yet. I do know that I have no muffins though...
So strange seeing you so far from water other than that glass Rach 😂. Joking aside I'm sorry to hear about your fatigue and burnout (can swimming locally not help?) but well done for listening to your body and trying this diet. You say you've lost your 'creative flow' - I see your videos as an art of broadcasting as your editing and explanation skills are superb and you make them very entertaining with your wonderful humour. Cool guests sometimes too. Do you see making and editing your swim videos as an art? Hope you're back to your energetic creative self soon
Hi Dave, it's not so much that I've lost the creative flow and more that I don't have the energy to plan, swim/record, edit, upload and do all the background stuff, so I'm having to take it steady. That's why it's more adventury at the moment than putting across educational content. Fingers crossed the insights help me to a healthier and more energetic me!
I was interested in Zoe until I watched your video and saw that a finger prick is required. I'm not keen on that, so I'll pass. So this video has been useful, thank you 👍

I thought for a moment you may have to wear that sling before you sit on the loo! 😂 can’t wait for next instalment

Whole food plant based diet did wonders for me 👍 fatigue gone within 3 weeks 🌞
That's great! So inspiring to hear that others have found relief from fatigue through nutrition.
all sounds very technical ,I hope this helps to get you on the mend ,good luck

Thank; you so much this was really helpful
Thx! Doing it this week- are you allowed to drink water whilst eating the muffins (now cookies)?
Yep. Water is fine. I needed something to lubricate my mouth!
Thankfully it's cookies now, I eat them tomo!@@EverydayAthleteRach
I start tomorrow but today I'm trying to scan my kit. I can't find the 'scan my Zoe kit' button anywhere! I need help. Ive fallen at the first hurdle!
I hope you got sorted and are well away with the process.

You probably are right. Re sales, but did you get your rseults back? I am hoping these to be helpful. Im starting 2mw

Maybe you have cookies instead. I think the muffins have been retired!
Ah! Well, it looks like I need a day with no human contact for the tests... I will watch your other videos on it too though. Ta @@EverydayAthleteRach
What stage are you on now? Have you stuck to the routine or logging food every day?
I’m working through the daily lessons and still logging most days.
Hi are You sponsored by ZOE in any way? Is this a sponsored video? Is this a free sample? TY
No I’m not. I paid for my tests and membership. I have a RUclips channel and my audience was interested.

Are you allowed to exercise on test day?
After the tests have been done, but not while they are trying to analyse your responses to the cookies or muffins
Doing my test day today. Cannot swallow these dry muffins lol it’s the most carbs I’ve eaten since Xmas.
Oooph! Keep on chewing. It’s worth the effort!
It sounds like you have an eating disorder

It was only sore for a couple of minutes, but I get that that kind of test may not be for everyone.
Seems like too much work, not worth doing
The results were definitely worth one day of effort. Feeling fantastic for it.
