Used to play drums back in the late -90’s. We mixed death metal with hardcore. I remember how hard it was to maintain the energy, and that became my fall. We released a cd back then, and shortly after we split up. I never continued. But listening to that now, and then to this. Miles apart. The skill on all musicians today is unbelievable.

I wish I could hear more of the rhythm guitar in their new songs like you can hear in this playthrough. People think LS has maxed out on heaviness, just imagine if the symphony portion didn't drown out the heavy rhythm portions lol
Austin is an absolute machine. He has been the scene's most solid drummer (easily) for SEVERAL years and he does not get the credit he is due. Total monster on a kit and is able to communicate SO much through his drumming.

Look up the heel toe technique.
They are. He’s not doing heel toe. You can see he’s half assing it

It’s the heel-toe technique. He kicks the base constantly with the lower part of the pedal with the heel and the upper part with the toes using the rebound. The movement of his feet is very small but you can see the idea behind the technique. It looks like his feet are doing some kind of “wave-motion”. The beater, doing also a minimum of movement, is at the speed you can hear. The base is triggered, that explains the constant sound with such a minimum of movement and attack, that’s normal in those BPM-areas.
