- Reviewing Xiaomi's Poco F6 Pro, an upper mid-range smartphone taking on the Pixel 8a with its Light Fusion camera tech, almost-flagship gaming performance and premium display. The Poco F6 Pro will be hitting the UK soon, from 499 GBP same as Google's handset. I've been using it as my phone for about a week now so here's my verdict!
Yes, in some ways the Xiaomi Poco F6 Pro is as good or better than the Pixel 8a and many other mid-range phones. That 1440p screen is beautifully sharp, with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support. Gamers will enjoy blazing through Genshin Impact and other quality titles, with Xiaomi's HyperOS gaming mode to help out.
And the Poco F6 Pro's camera setup is also good, as long as you don't mind boosted photos with richer tones. You don't get a telephoto lens, but that quibble aside, you'll capture good looking pics and up to 8K video.

I'm more interested if the nonstop focus hunting when recording a video (using the main camera) is still present or has been improved?
Are colours on the main and selfie camera show natural, true to life colours the way you see in real life?

Insane that this will get the same amount of updates as Sony's new Xperia 1 VI.

I don't care. Xiaomi lost me when they started taking away all the features like Apple and Samsung. They now eve took away our ability to switch off the screen while hearing a RUclips video or downloading game files etc.
I'll rather get the Sony phone that still gives me an SD card and a headphone jack and has no annoying screen hole.
@@SIPEROTH The SD card is a dying specie in the smartphone market, since the internal storage is much faster. Better get used to it. The headphone jack is a meme at this point, since it is not mandatory and wireless headphones are more comfortable. Soon all phones will remove it... Move on with the times.

I love my Poco F2 Pro and I just got another F2 Pro second hand of course 🎉 pop up camera 🤳🏾 is definitely an accidental eye catcher when I do face unlock 😅

Damn! I'm using F2 Pro too. It's time for an upgrade. Waiting for the F6 Pro to be more available in my region.
Mine still works great too on Android 10 and miui 11 as I haven't bothered doing updates. The pop up camera still works after 3 years surprisingly.
If mine didn't get a problem with the battery connector sticking to the rear for the second time I would still be rocking it today. Sadly needed to spend a month away in repair land so I replaced it with a used S22 Ultra and it has convinced me to keep going with used in the future, but once I got my F2 Pro back I happily gave it to a family member who is still enjoying it plenty.

Wish you had talked more about its TCL C8 OLED display. How's the viewing angles? Any discoloration? Brightness? Some Chinese tech reviewers said it's better than they expected. I hope you reply to this comment.
I haven't had any issues with the brightness, even had some proper sunlight here to test it against, autobrightness worked perfectly, dims down low in evenings. No distortion when tilting either

Do you know if it can be activated with any operator here in the USA to be able to use it for calls?
I had Gorilla Glass 5 on a Poco F2 Pro and Victus on my current S22 Ultra and over half the time the Victus picked up a lot more light scratches from everyday wear and tear, I was confident running with no screen protector on the Poco and not so with the S22.
From what I know, victus is way shock proof than glass 5 but more scratch prone

@@arkadiusw.897 I am commenting on the loco x3 pro, even after years it runs and goes without any problems. I just had to change the screen because I emerged the phone under water. In fact my phone survived 3-4x water damage, but this last time it couldn't work anymore. Incredible.

last year after watch your poco f5 review went to buy it. after using nearly a year final review is that the processor is superb screen ok but its OS IS VERY LACKING IN FEATURES

My day to day phone is the Xiaomi 13t pro, but I settled for the POCO x6 pro in February 2024 as my travel device , the only extra on the F6 in my books is the quicker 120W as opposed to my 67w hmmmmmm 15 mins quicker charge. But I got the banana yellow which F6 doesn't have.

But there are 2 downgrades: 160 mAh less battery, no wireless charging.
Awesome little device. I don't think I need an upgrade (yet), but the new Poco F6 seems to genuinely kick ass!

Does bloatware actually matter? You just delete it. Minor chore when you first switch on the phone.

Your Poco F6 Pro will get SD 8 gen 2? Ours in Asia will get SD 8"s" gen 3, which is lower performance to the 8 series.

i Find uoy reviews very good, but the only problem is most of these phones aren't even sold in the U.S., like Xiaomi none of the popular networks carry them, so I don't even now if any if their networks would work with them, plus have any support for them.

I swear non in-display fingerprint sensors are more rare than under 6 inch phones nowadays, even including the budget ones!

Yeah it's hard to be a flagship killer for its price and feature offering. They're trying to promote themselves as a "daily driver" now... which if that's the angle now they better start minding about the camera and battery life just a little bit more.
