I've owned several different breeds of dogs. I now have a Miniature Schnauzer he's 3. By far the smartest breed,so smart they have a mind of their own. If you have one, be patient, keep working hard, give them lots of exercise, teach them a new command or trick each week, and they will have fun. All this breed wants to do is keep showing you how smart they are, and they will try to outsmart you.
That's a Schnauzer for you. They are notorious for their intelligence. Merlin's ability to listen and obey is original and natural. Good job Merlin.👏👍♥️🐾🤗

Eddie Cuellar ...My 12 1/2 year old mini runs out the back yard and jumps with her four legs altogether in the air like a little lamb if she thinks a cat or possum might be in the yard. Such a cute and loveable character.

My mini Schnauzer looks just like that but is just over 12 1/2 years old. She still prances like a pup. Beautiful dog, great with children. Love her to bits.

Nice video... Breed of my heart, many attitudes that I recognise in my miniature & standard schnauzers... In my case: treats, yes, but much more importantly with these dogs often endowed with a strong temperament: attention to what the dog needs here and now, trust, confidence, partnership, relationship...

You are obviously good with training schnauzers. However I do not support over-learning i.e. I also want them to act, behave and have fun on their own terms.

My mini needs training big time I have a hard time with him listening a lot of the time. And he isn’t good around other people so from that experience my advice is to socialize them when their young which was my mistake 😒
He is loving, and playful but needs more training with listening when told to do something or not to

What annoys me is....humans turn these dogs into unruly unliveable dogs and then have to pay someone to reverse their behaviour !
