Hi Paul, I just wanted to let you know that I truly enjoy your channel! Everything is so well done and you are a great craftsman. Thank you for sharing your skills with us!
Thank you for a well made tutorial using very basic tools. For people like me who are maybe interested in trying new things to make out of wood and use or give to friends, this is a great starter video! Thanks!
Paul, I wish you were on this side of the pond, and we could go explore some water together. I made my boat and fishing rods, now I want to make the lures as well. I love using old tools and simple methods, and you show them very well. Thanks for another very nicely done video. Stephen
this is the channel I click like to before I even watch the vid, I don't think I've ever SEEN ONE DISLIKE! the new film style rocks. just a subtle change to make it even better!
I was going through my tackle box to mix and match some old worn out spinners, hopped on youtube to get some ideas, and found your channel. Amazing stuff, mate! You've definitely earned a subscriber!
Love your videos. Not only is the cinematography beautiful and your instructions easy to follow but your lures are absolutely gorgeous. They are inspiring me to build my own and this video is just what I was looking for, simple tools and nothing crazy.
I just stumbled on your channel and boy am I happy I did! this is exactly the type of channel I've been looking for! Awesome work! you have yourself a subscriber!
Nice one Paul, yet again ..... very clever, i make my own trout and pike flies but will soon be having a go of these. keep them coming mate, regards smithy
Nicely done Paul. Its a good for the ego to see that evan you can have to start over and sand off a screwed up finish. As always artfully put together.
Great video as always, I always look forward to your next video 👍 The time and craftsmanship that goes into each lure is amazing. Take care and tight lines 🎣
Another excellent video Paul, So far I've already made the Fisherman's Friend Drop Shot mini tackle box, Great idea! I always look forward to the next video
saludos de baja california sur mexico, son muy bonitos los videos los cuales han sido muy importantes para aprender y tratar de hacer lo que usted realiza gracias
Hello Paul ! Nice vidéo ! In RC boat activity, I use expoy mixed with withe spirit, it's more easy to make the first layer on wood (sometimes with glass wool). Sorry for my English, thank's for your video, every time pleasant to watch ! Stéphane
+Nature minimaliste (Bushcraft) I always hold off diluting the epoxy because I am a bit lazy and find i can re-coat quickly, i recently have got hold of some acrylic varnish which i may start using instead, before painting and using the epoxy clear coat
Your approach as well as the tools you used was spot on ( not everyone has all those newer power tools ) I've yet to see anyone else use your approach let alone use scraps of wood!, Q...have you ever made any ice fishing lures?? Great video keep up the good work!
I was looking to start doing this sort of stuff as I’m tired of spending g tons of money on lures but I do t know about all the woods what wood would be good for hardbaits
I like your style of video very much. You did an excellent job with this one! You have some great wood working skills, patience and creativity! One thing I missed was what you said you wiped the lure down with before painting. I especially like the way you showed how you marked and centered everything. In that same vein, do you have any videos showing the marking/centering of the hook hangers on a round body lure and getting a diving lip squared up and perpendicular to center? Thanks for sharing your skills!
+Kirk Dietrich I wiped down with white spirit to remove anything from sanding. I do not have a video of that as i tend to mark out before i begin to shape so while the wood is square. There are lots of methods for doing after shaping, i would check out tacklunderground.com it would hard for me to explain them. thanks
+Michael Loft Not really, i don't use any-more but that is not because i had problems i just use another resin from www.katanarods.com/ generally with bubble problems they have to come from somewhere, so if you have applied the epoxy and popped any bubbles you could see and then left it cure and come back later to find more bubbles, then you either need glasses (i found this out ) of something under the epoxy is making bubbles. This can be paint or wood even polyurethane resin if that is what you are using. You need to make sure anything you have applied before clear coating has cured. Also it needs to be at a stable temperature, if you take a cold wood lure and coat it and place it somewhere warm the wood will start to give off gass making bubbles the same is true of polyurathe resin which has not long enough to cure.
I've been trying this method, but finding that the acrylic varnish coat dissolves the acrylic paint and makes it run. Any ideas how I can stop this happening? I have very limited materials available.
How do u make your lures float/sink perfectly. My lures float on one side and I try to make it all even but it doesn't work. Please help me perfect this. Btw your really good at this, I want to do the same thing your doing, keep up the good work.
+Mitchell Tandeski I am guessing there is either not enough weight in them or the weight is not low enough in the body. Have you got the hooks on when testing?
my master was about to give up on the lures, but I was so interested in the lures, every day I watched your creations
Hi Paul, I just wanted to let you know that I truly enjoy your channel! Everything is so well done and you are a great craftsman. Thank you for sharing your skills with us!

Great video brother!
Which wood is the best for making a good lure?
Popler
Loved this !
I wonder, could you tell me where I could get some lure plans? I'm just starting and need some help.
pinterest
What type of weights did you use
I’ve never used a fishing lure and I was wondering if you need to attach bait to it?
Depends on the lure, this swim bait no, but jigs and the like yes, that way you have some action near the hook.
nice video , you can make a video to show us how make a stick or popper surface lure
I am working on one at the moment
+Paul Adams (The Handmade Fisherman) there will be an above video
What size trebbles do you use? 1 or 2?
Thanks for the video, very helpful
I really want to try this. Really really.
How do u make your lures float/sink perfectly. My lures float on one side and I try to make it all even but it doesn't work. Please help me perfect this. Btw your really good at this, I want to do the same thing your doing, keep up the good work.
