  • A rough summary of KRYPTON!: ZOD'S MASTERIPIECE!, the prequel book to the Kryptonian Epic, which concerns the illegal experiments performed by scientists on an alien world. The decisions of a single small group of people ended up in disaster for the entire civilization, and left a legacy that would spread to a planet a universe away, a story that would only end hundreds of years later, in a violent confrontation between emissaries of the two worlds.
There are some details I fucked up or changed in early videos; those should already be apparent. Other things were unformed into their final shape. As of about a year and a half ago though, everything is all planned out. Still having a lot of fun with this.

My guess is that when the Brainiac part of the pod, detached and crashed to Earth, it used someone with some crazy, HP Lovecraft belief system as its base-mind. Which, of course leads to all of Aquaman’s backstory and creation. Which I really hope we get some more info on soon.

It’s fascinating how the three biggest threats in this series, Lex, Aaron/Joker and Zod are essentially ego-maniac performers who gradually buy their own act. Little Lex becomes his dream Big Lex, the parody General becomes a true despot and Joker; well that one’s self explanatory. In contrast to that, we got Clark, who fears that the more absorbed into his persona as “Superman” he gets, the more “Clark Kent” is gradually dying. It’s wonderful stuff

while on the other hand Zod created this monster that is his own flesh and blood that is a horrifying murder machine that is only there to help Zod escape a position he put himself in. showing the difference in ideology and personality of Zod and Jor.

Holy shit! wasn't expecting to get this. I now have a theory, an observation, and a question.
Theory: You once said that Bizarro was "kinda" in The Epic, and you keep explaining that the hybridization will not and cannot go the way Zod wants it to for him. And on top of that in the little you've told us about Do It Yourself (still my most anticipated video/whatever media you put it out in) via the end of the fear gas trip in Death of Batman, Zod wanted Clark's blood. So, my guess is that Zod does eventually get what he wants by being hybridized with Clark's DNA, but he's a misshapen clone.
Or Zod hybridizes with Lex and it's both characters seemingly getting what they want (to be a Superman), but they're an ugly misshapen monster version of the two of them as one.
Observation: Jax-Ur asking Jor-El if he'll have what it takes to do what's required of him when the time comes is totally like Diana asking Clark if he'll be brave enough to do what he needs to do in the end. I believe you dropped that hint in the Agent of Batman Questions Answered Livestream. Also the idea that Clark spent years obsessing over "the little green guys in the sky", is similar to those same green guys being in Kryptons sky. Both Clark and the Kryptonians wanted to go into space, but their bodies kept stopping them in some way. Love this!
Question: I know Clark is confirmed to be solar powered, but does the color of the sun matter? Or is it the fact that Clark is a Kryptonian/human and that combination of, I guess, brut animal muscle and plant solar absorption made for the effect that is "super powers" regardless of the color of the sun so long as sunlight is given to him?

    • @Uptomyknees
      @Uptomyknees  Год назад +4

The color does not matter. Clark metabolizes solar electromagnetic radiation and x-rays into an organic field around himself that both helps to power his body and gives him superhuman abilities; he can bleed the energy out through his eyes with "fire," see things on x-ray and gamma spectrums, and even fly by using the field to fling himself into the air and carry himself like with a kind of localized current.

I had Krypton as a sort of Pandora but far more exciting and Met Gala looking place of weird costumes, but all things that are created are made by this symbiotic ecosystem that the Kryptonians use, this enables them also to make weapons, housing and everything else they would want.
It's when a scientist creates a being "Brainiac" that people become more tech reliant, and begin to ignore the planet and Brainiac becomes more powerful, its then the planet essentially dies or turns against them and it becomes the end of Krypton.
We had a Glassplanet online conversation but I never mentioned any of this so there is no claim of stealing here! Plus it's fanfiction so its all fun anyway.

The thing about naming Zod "Darkseid" (Seed? Taxonomy of 4th dimensional consciousness corporializing as a Mr. Fancyplants?) is that it adds a whole 'nother layer of legitimacy to his brash amounts of insane, pointless evil. Darkseid isn't an "evil god", he's the "god of evil". Even his infectious aura is enough to turn Gotham into a cesspool of incurable crime. Zod, Darkseid's vessel in this reality, is evil for the sake of evil because it -must- exist

Is Aquaman’s home the result, then, of the rest of the damaged pod- the part that builds the living environment- crashing into the ocean? The pool on Wonder Woman’s island was caused by an errant chunk of Kryptonite, that I get, but I wasn’t sure if Aquaman’s powers were also Kryptonian in origin or if it was just… there?

There was a 500 year gap between when Clark's pod arrived in Earth's atmosphere and dumped half the payload and when he landed in Kansas. My guess is Savage was an Arctic explorer in the 1800s who stumbled across Braniac w/o its base mind ("three lights over a sea of ice" i think is how it went) and is driven crazy. Maybe Braniac tried to latch itself to Savage and it warped his mind, prolonging his life in the process.

All right so Clark was released from Krypton over 500 years ago. You mentioned your Wonder woman video connection to the Kryptonian technology on themsycria and the word hybridization there similar word used here when talking about what kryptonians can do with their DNA. We haven't mentioned if Aquaman has anything like that but I guess my thought here is and if you're not going to tell me you don't want to spoil it or Wonder woman and Aquaman I don't want to say failed experiments with the Kryptonian technology that made Clark what he is, but are they remnants or byproducts of incomplete or similar technology. I'm not saying they're kryptonians but I'm saying it sounds like they went through a very similar process that you mentioned kryptonians can go through.

So, if American Alien took place in 2015, the year issue 1 came out, and Superman was in orbit for 500 years before that. The year Krypton collapsed was…1515. 1515 is of course the year Conquistador Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar founds Havana in modern day Cuba. Fast forward a few hundred years, Club 38 in Havana opens with the main attraction of a man nicknamed “Superman”. This man and his act would later be referenced in The Godfather Part 2. Released in 1974. 1974 was of course the year DC launched its 59 issue run of “The Superman Family”. The first issue of this comic (#164) finds Jimmy Olsen and Superman trying to best Dr. Mark Olsen from unfairly claiming a Spanish conquistador’s buried treasure by driving all the town members away. As everyone knows, Jimmy’s Father Mark would later be reincarnated and take the name of the Mayan feathered serpent god - Kukulkan (this is real). In last year’s film “Wakanda Forever”, Prince Namor is referred to by the Avatar looking people in his underwater kingdom by the same name - KUKULKAN…so am I wrong to assume A MARVEL CROSSOVER IN THE KRYPTONIAN EPIC HAS BEEN CONFIRMED?!

There are parallels with a LOT of the characters in the epic; what's interesting are the contrasting differences. Aaron actively chooses to be The Joker, whereas Dru-Zod, generally a dumber and less thoughtful being, actually turns into GENERAL ZOD. Both of them are entertainers, but Aaron recognizes the absurdity of his actions, and that absurdity is part of his artistic message. Zod's legacy is a more hollow, and for that reason, even more dangerous enterprise.
