The problem with a lot of the studies they're using to disprove the existence of porn addiction is that they rely on data from lots of men and women who use pornography habitually but have no interest or effort in trying to quit. So obviously, nothing on the surface seems addictive about the behavior. But what happens when any of those people genuinely try to quit using pornography for 1 - 2 months? They can't do it. Not simply because of their changing preferences or momentary wants, but they literally can not resist the temptation to go back to it. It becomes a need in their lives they cannot help themselves but give in to. I don't see how people could not look at that as addictive behavior.

Yeah i agree, but also ..it all depends in how the dopamine receptors and the axes of dopamine are configured in the brain and how the brain itself reacts to reward....
Thats why so many prople get alcohol adiction with just a couple of years drinking and why people get that dopamine high peak when gambling....
I dont think that blaming porn is the way to go to solve the promiscious problem and lack of emotional attachment that our society is going through...
I think the lack of education of quality its the problem and part of that is the censure culture....that religious (catholics) people try to persecute blindfolded.
Nothing is black or white...but the more expose we are to the colors we can discriminate gray areas and the way to reach that it is education, the first exposure to the Kids to sex should be before adolescense ( 10-11years) and that should be in a classroom...not behind a cellphone.

I know right?! I was absolutely mind blown that they talked themselves into that position. Although I think Destiny did it out of spite. He really sat and reflected for a solid while after that like “what the hell did I just say”. Those two are unhinged and I hope they reflect on how they came to the conclusion they did. Because they proved Trent and Layla’s position perfectly. If consent is your only moral framework then sex with dogs is ok. Dogs are pretty down with anything. They don’t care. If consent is your only frame of reference then as Destiny said “it’s better to hunt them with your dick than a spear”. Wild. Just wild that that’s where he came down on it.

The problem is that destiny was pointing out the absurdity that arises when you say that preforming medical experiments on animals, forcibly impregnating them, and then slaughtering them and eating them is okay but having sex with them is not. Destiny was saying it that from the perspective of the animal it doesn’t really make sense to say that all the horrible inhumane things we do to animals is okay but having sex with them is wrong. But the other side was not speaking from the perspective of the sex harming the animal they were taking the perspective of the sex harming the human because it is perverse to have sex with an animal because idk reasons?

It’s a societal pressure for girlfriends/ spouses to say “it’s no big deal”. But really it’s putting an emotional and physical wedge between them that manifests into other things. I literally just witnessed m this unfold with my neighbors. Recently married just moved in, the man watches porn and she is “ok” with it at first. Fast forward a year, they are divorced. One of the main reasons? He was more interested in getting off online than trying to be intimate with his wife. Anyone who doesn’t see the correlation is brain dead/denial.

This is not to say destiny never answered him, the back and forth was pretty good and destiny held his own. Again it’s just my perspective hopefully someone can tell me if I’m wrong or not but in the end it’s hard to tell who walked away with the win here, Lila and Trent seemed to give of religious vibe while others would say destiny and jazzmen are insane and hedonistic.

if animals are considered to be alive and have feelings, as well as they can't consent (which is why having sex with them is bad) then it is worse to kill an animal than have sex with one, as in one the animal is maybe(we don't know the science) hurt emotionally/physically, while in the other case, the animal is dead.

@@CTdonnner1991 luckily nobody was trying to justify bestiality. They were just saying that it's less bad than eating an animal. Humans are ordered to eat meat sure, but does that mean that when scientists use animals for research (often involves killing them, seeing how long they take to die, intentionally poisoning them, and distressing them among other things) those aren't worse than having sex with the animal? Does it change the fact that the vast majority of meat is produced in incredibly unethical ways in which the animal is often suffering their entire life just to get slaughtered? Eating meat 99% of the time results in the torture of animals, yet somehow the torture of animals isn't worse than having sex with an animal? This doesn't even include the fact that animal farms are a lot less efficient in terms of space when it comes to feeding humanity, so it's not even like you can use that as a justification. The truth is just that people enjoy eating meat more than they care about the wellbeing and health of the animals who are being eaten. As such it's hypocritically to view beastiality as some crazy moral wrong without also applying that condemnation to those who eat meat.

      2) If there was a way to morally and ethically create animated CP (as in we don't need to train AI off of actual CP which would harm children) and as a result real children would get harmed less that would absolutely 100% be a good thing how is that even deniable?
      3) it's not that having sex with animals is good, it's that humans already do so many terrible things to animals (eating, borderline torture) etc that sex with animals is no worse than any of those things. Choosing to object to sex with animals but not object to animals being used in labs for research (in which most of the time the treatment of them is insanely terrible) is just hypocritical as it shows you don't actually care about the animal at all.

@@swordyshield No I got it, I know what he's saying, he's a secular Humanist utilitarian of the "harm reduction" variety so to be consistent with his ethics he will defend all manner of activities that trigger an inherent disgust in most people because he doesn't believe in ontological human value and purpose. He is a perfect illustration of how snappy and "cool" these ethics systems seem to people until they're put to the test and have no backstops to horrific evils
Also, yes Trent is consistent as a Christian moralist because only humans can be moral so morality is going to be through our own view. The Bible advises ethical treatment of animals for OUR benefit, ie it makes you a worse human being to perpetrate unnecessary cruelty on animals, it offends God. Objective moral standards only apply to humans. Christian understandings of interacting with nature or objects/beings that may or may not be harmed in the same way as a human is that it is corrupting to the human being perpetrating the act and disrespects God. Under this framework you can consistently object to Animated CP, Bestiality, incest, necrophilia, and many sexual or other actions that do not have an obvious external victim

If animated CP would undeniably reduce the number of actual children who get harmed and could be made ethically, yet you don't allow it because of the "corruption" done to the humans, then you are okay with harm being done to children. Seems weird how people would rather care about some "corruption" than the actual harm which is done.

@@swordyshield it's not the only basis for moral objection, it's one of them, but you're presenting a false dichotomy in your hypothetical. If there is another equally or more effective solution to bring down the rate of SA then your objection is irrelevant. You're presenting it as if it should be a necessary evil in your hypothetical, but necessary evils fall apart if there's another option making the evil unnecessary. Let's say that If someone said if we let people abuse dogs then they are less likely to abuse humans I would just say that we should criminalize both and police better to prevent both, because that's a hypothetical that I object to in concept because I don't believe that one decreases the other. My moral system is predicated on the idea that acting in evil ways does corrupt people to do MORE evil things across time so by nature I don't accept your hypothetical and even if I did, I would continue to object to Animated CP and find another way to decrease child SA.
My moral system can confidently condemn things like necrophilia, incest, animated CP, etc. Destiny's ethics cannot. Destiny loves to say "intuition pumping" but what he constantly does is "intuition numbing." He knows that he has a moral intuition that certain things are bad and instead of trying to understand why that may be, he tries to rationalize himself out of that discomfort to avoid inhibiting his true god, pleasure. The secular Humanist view would have us all contemplating existence like rats finding pleasure and avoiding pain, I prefer to contemplate higher, deeper, and better things. There is often wisdom in revulsion even if there isn't a study for it.

Well done! One of the great myths that pro-porn people think is that people who watch porn and go on to more and more extreme forms of it are really just discovering what their sexual interests really are. But, this is actually false. If someone stops watching porn, their sexual interests will often return back to something more normal. Porn actually changes your sexual interests.
Another thing people, especially guys, need to do is stop masturbating. Another lie that many men believe is that you will be miserable if you don't stop getting your "sexual release". It's also untrue. What tends to cause the misery is trying to stop while continuing to look at women and fantasize and fill your head with sexual images. But, if you simply control your eyes and control your thoughts, this can be stopped rather easily as well. You might have built up a habit, but if you learn to redirect your mind whenever the thought arises, eventually that habit that compels you to think you need it will die down too.

    Trent: Yes! It is worse

    • @thomaschoate976
      @thomaschoate976 Год назад

      how is it worse?
We literally torture and slaughter billions of animals for meat and dairy on factory farms. And some of it involves sexual interaction with animals’ genitals in order to breed them.
For example, for dairy and beef, bulls are sexually stimulated by farmers to collect their semen. Then that semen is used in artificial insemination to impregnate the cows. Which involves sticking their arm up their butt to position the cervix and get the semen in there. Then after the calf is born, she is separated from her mother and milked. Eventually, all cows are slaughtered for meat.
“But we need to eat meat!!!”
Oh really? You need to stuff your face with a bacon cheeseburger?
What’s the difference between doing these things to animals for taste pleasure vs sexual pleasure? Or is it because you pay someone else to do it?
The truth is most people don’t give a shit about animals. So it’s weird to morally grandstand. Just because it’s “out of sight, out of mind”

And we should listen to a literal prostitute because everyone knows that the highest caliber of moral behavior is selling your body as a commodity.
Your attempt at character assignation fails pretty hard when the opponent's characters literally represent the lowest and most shamed moral weaknesses in men and in women respectively.
