Want to see more please this is just wicked killer cool. I’ve talked about wanting to do this to my 79 T-top car for 3 years. And to actually see it done is well ignition for the fuel!!! I bought this car three years ago as a build for me and my grandson who is now four. We lost my son his father in a car accident three years back. I purchased this car with some of the insurance money I acquired because of the accident. This car was purchased to share the love of cars that my son and I had together and now me and my grandson share together. My little man loves going to car shows and taking Papa‘s Camaro out and going for rides. I’m just in the middle of collecting parts so that way when he’s old enough to really turn wrenches him and I are going to build his car together and this is the plan that I have for it so thank you for these four videos on doing this conversion. I know my son is smiling down on the both of us every time my little boy and I fire it up and tear up the rubber. Seeing this brings tears and excitement and thought of the fun lil man and I will have building this car!!!!!thank you Stacey!!!
But... But.... But, You actually have to drive those cars! No Anti lock brakes, no sensors to tell you if you're too close to something, no cameras, no GOS even! My Gosh! You mean I have to know where I'm going! People today don't have to learn how to not hit the brakes too hard on a wet road (I learned at 14, and in mom's ride! Never hurt mom's ride!), Or how power is control, (no traction control). It's just not as enjoyable to me as the old stuff. Most every car or trhck I've ever owned has been 60's. I still drive a 66 Beater Chevy Truck. I still have my 63 Bel Air. I do have a 96 Z71 and two 85 Trucks. Don't get me wrong, I could enjoy a new Challenger SRT. You can't get a 6 speed manual in a Hellcat. SRT is the Strongest one.
I enjoy watching this channel and this video, the Camaro upgrade is awesome. Last year I tuned into a channel, a muscle car dealership and on that particular day for sale was a 1971 Plymouth Duster. What?????? It's a Dodge Demon ! Now the dealer listed the vehicle as a Duster because, well car guys understand the legality of it. The 'idiotic'comments were a plenty and had me rolling. " this is a scam " one viewer protested. But how was this done I asked myself? I understand changing the grille and emblems was acedemic But how did a person put those Demon taillights on? Curious, I googled; Converting a Duster to a Demon. This was new to me at the time and the research revealed step by step images covering changing the tail lamp panel and it wasn't that difficult. I've seen these Camaros after the fact so this video puts it all into perspective. Thanks Stacey
I would want the small back glass so it looks factual. I'd rather fool people. So T Tops are probably out, but there's aftermarket ones, so you might slide. But a Roll bar would be needed to stiffen the chasey. They will twist with a lot of power.
I like the look of the larger rear glass window and the factory Fisher T Tops are pretty cool touch as well. If you install a good set of weld in subframe connecters, that will help with the body twist. I had a Ride Tech Tiger cage installed in my 77 TA and it really tied the chassis together.
Do you think the bumper is still safe on these after the mod? There's nothing between the fuel tank and that thin 70-73 bumper. Is it the same braces to the correct spots on the body the new bumper brackets fit to?
I totally appreciate what you’re doing , I wish I was this good , but it would be so much easier to just buy a true split bumper car lol I would be so lost doing this conversion lol
Sorry Stacy,...it looks good, but I'm afraid I would have to get the whole 71 rear fender, so I could go back to the 71 small rear window. Why go half way to one of the most beautiful body designs GM ever made?
@@vernhoke7730 The 74s are my favorites, they have the classic looking window with the mid bumpers which looks way better and mean than the first ones, would love to buy one of those as my first car
Why can't they show us the final result? The car is looking pretty good and I wish they would finish a project, instead of jumping around and leaving ones like this in limbo.
I love your shows but, you never finish them and you jump around. You had the CopperHead video that was 1 hour and 45 minutes long if not longer. It was start to finish the complete build. From the chassis to the finished product. Then you drove it. I loved that. I think we need more videos like that cause you explained and you built. You did it from start to finish. It was great. How ever most of your videos are short and you don’t finish them. I can’t tell you how many times I watched your videos and then I’d search all your videos to find the finish products and I can’t find them. It would be nice to see more videos. I’m not even sure you do these anymore but, I’d love to watch a full video front to back. Start to finish. You building a 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab. One you can drive around town but, also drive it in the mountains and across small creeks.
I only know of maybe 5 or 6 projects he's actually finished. Right now if you go to the Playlist tab, hit "full builds" he has the completed monster Miata and the "Knucklebuster" OSB pick up.
This was a promising build with a lot of great information, but I guess this is one of the projects that doesnt get revisited/finished. Too bad, was hoping to see this one completed. That one thing I don't like about these shows.
This episode is about 5 years old at this point. If there's an update it's probably on Amazon Prime. Or it just never got finished like lot of their projects.
@@UpperDarbyDetailing in my opinion. don't get me wrong, i understand the appeal of a split bumper and the popularity compared to the 81 front end. but i think it would've been unique to build it as is. or just buy a split bumper year car.

they are mostly advertising ..a bit annoying
Would have been fun to see the final result
the best conversion video on the net
He really needs to finish this build.

Very cool 😎 truck. The family that wrenches together, stays together

Nice job on the camaro rear end
I remember this episode!
Holy moley, the stuff you have into it makes it into a track car I bet.
I wish I could get my hands on those 81 tail lights. Mine are busted
Dude you always do some really cool shit!!!
Thank you
Longest cliff hanger ever.
With that fro, this guy is like the Bob Ross of mechanics.
Sigh.... that's not an afro... and Bob Ross had a perm.
In a world of camaros, it pays to be different. So? What is the mortgage on a catalog camaro?
I wouldn't mind having the "disco rear end" but I would have to do the the 70 to 73 front end
When is the next episode of this build?
Newer
The tail lights for sale?
When is this build coming back? It’s been forever! Can’t wait until it’s done.

Chassis*.
A vinyl top would easily hide body work needed to convert the rear glass to the early non-wraparound.
To chang to an earlier small back window car, you just need to replace the quarter panel.
Wondering if you have the part number to that gas filler and cap. As with most your stuff Love it. Keep up the great work

Actually the wrap around rear window first appeared in 1975. The smaller one was from 1970-1974, I know I had a '74 LT.

If I had the complete quarters I would have converted to the small back window as well
What happened to part two? Did this car get finished?
awesome show 10 minutes of actually doing anything with the camaro and the rest a bunch of time wasting ads i waited a year for another episode
Are those taillights for sale? I need them.
This is a really old episode, and was when you commented. Hit eBay.
I'd just convert the front and call it done.
Would you grace us with a list of parts in the description box? It would be much appreciated.
I don't have part numbers handy, but there are some details here: staceydavid.com/projects/catalog-camaro

Bro you should remove that ugly wrap around window that thing sucks and went with the 70 style window
If you've ever tried to back up or change lanes in a small window Camaro, you'd understand why it's a better car with the big back window.
Next is to get rid of those wretched T-tops, and ugly rear glass.
what happened to this project? It was finished ???
It was put on hold while we moved. It'll be back!
Might as well go wife body since you have the sheet metal to do it.
Why does the kid in the old school bike ad look so absolutely pissed off???
Very blown away that camaros back glass change is a roof cut not a quarter oanel cut
It is an upper quarter panel swap, not roof.
This car needs a 572 fuel injected big block and be painted copperhead copper paint.
I would’ve kept that original tail, light and tray to create a custom assembly for it
turn it into a knight rider car KITT
That was a 4th gen
poor 81 camaro it didn't deserve a split bumper treatment. everyone likes split bumpers, but you're doing all that and it's still an 81 camaro
