The neck gaiter and fanatic beanie, in my opinion are the 2 smallest but biggest pieces of cold weather hunting gear out there, very underrated and worth their weight in gold
I'm from Tennessee. I purchase your hats every year at the NWTF convention in Nashville. Great product! I also enjoy your reviews and have used them when purchasing Sitka!
I’m from WI. I think anything under 40 is acceptable for the fanatic. I’d go baselayer, fanatic hoodie, then fanatic jacket. I like that 2-3 layer system better than say fantic hoodie/equinox hoodie/stratus vest. I’ve also rocked that in the 40s just fine. I’m one who really doesn’t like the double hoodie tho with the hoods around my neck especially with the neck gaiter on. I’m looking to sell my equinox hoodie and get a celsius jacket instead
Lubbock, Texas born and raised! Your videos have helped me with a waterfowl system and now I can’t wait to get me a whitetail system. Thanks for the reviews. Send me a hat!
Your breakdown sounds very similar to my East TN layering setup once you go below 50 degrees, including layering the fanatic vest over the stratus at the extreme low end. At the high end I actually use the Ascent pants, shirt, gloves, and hat instead of the ESW series. For 50 to 70, I switched things up this year and use First Lite layers.
Iowa Switched to primarily Sitka hunting clothing this fall & am glad I did...should have invested in quality clothing years age. Am 6ft 190lbs & went with fanatic bibs, jacket, hoodie in xl...also have 200g merino wool base layers...this gets me to low 30’s..maybe even upper 20’s on days with little or no wind. Am in need of a dedicated mid layer, but for now using a Cabela’s jacket that I already have...the only thing would have done differently is gone to a xxl fanatic jacket to allow more room for layering as when using Cabela’s jacket for mid layer can get difficult putting on fanatic jacket as outer layer. It is possible a Celsius Midi or Equinox Hoodie that I am considering adding to my Sitka system next season may be less bulky thus making xl fanatic jacket the right choice...time will tell. Anyone who has both Celsius Midi & Equinox Hoodi...how do these pieces compare for mid layers in term of bulk...are they comparable?
@@njgrplr2007 I consistently wore it as my only outer layer - especially during afternoon hunts. The material is very soft and not like a normal "puffy jacket." Definitely quiet enough to wear as an outer layer. I bought it for insulation but found myself wearing it as my main outer piece during most of my mid season and early late season hunts.
Love you reviews very helpful for deciding what pieces I need. This Minnesota boy will be starting out with the Status jacket & bibs and add pieces as I can afford them. Time to upgrade out of my old Scent Blocker system that I have used for years. Thanks again for your reviews!
As a Wisconsinite, you're not far off what we wear in the lower temps. All depends upon the wind. As for when the temps drop below 0-10, you don't necessarily notice the difference as much as the initial drop to below freezing. Biggest issues are hands and feet. Still trying to find a way to not have feet sweat on way to stand (biggest cause of cold feet).
Central Illinois late October thru late Nov, tree stand hunter. Temps can range from mid 40's to the 20's. If you layer correctly, the Stratus system is all you need. Base layers, heavyweight hoodie, and the Stratus. Thanks for your reviews. Happy hunting!
Everyone is different when it comes to cold. For me single digits and windy I am just wearing my Merino base layers. Heavyweight bottoms and Fanatic bibs. Core lightweight top Fanatic hoodie Celsius midi Fanatic jacket. Merino skully And a fanatic hat. That’s is. I’ve Done all day sits in this in single digits without getting cold 🥶 The only time I break out the fanatic bibs and Jacket It is once it gets below 10°. I am fine with layers on under my Stratus up until about 10°
I just saved 50 on some of the under layer Al’s sporting goods I believe it’s one of the hooded fleece lined which will go great under my browning hunting jacket I primarily use Marino wool but with a $50 savings and the reviews I couldn’t pass it up at 1:50
for tree stand hunting the mid west during the rut, what next to skin base layers to you recommend. Im trying to decide between synthetic and merino and light medium heavy? thanks!
Thanks for all the helpful reviews! Do you actually use and/or like the thumb loops? I really like my Celsius midi and Fanatic hoodie, but I find the loops really annoying. They are uncomfortable to actually use while hunting for hours. If I don't use them, I have to fold them up and it creates lots of fabric around my wrist, especially where I strap my release. I'm considering switching items / systems or maybe getting the sleeves altered.
WI boy here. I hunt the rut in Oct./Nov. and Nov. gun season. Sometimes late season bow. Also, I hunt out west for mule deer in Oct./Nov. Looking for a mid-layer and outer-layer you'd recommend that can be used both for out west mule deer/elk hunting and also for WI bow/gun season. I'm thinking that means the subalpine color. But, what mid/outer top layer and full outer layer jacket do you recommend that can cross over to both to get me from the teens to the 40's? I would get just the fanatic for WI Nov/Dec, but can't use that out west. So, I was looking at the Mountain Jacket, the Kelvin Lite Hoody, the Celsius-Midi, or Stratus jacket. But open to anything. Thank you.
I also first light furnace which is very good I also have a Hoodie nothing is cheap when it comes to keeping warm I have some badlands gear Where is out to easy of course half price was worth it but it’s not long life I’ve been hunting with my dad since age 5 I’m almost 58 I have a place near Canada I know the elements very well my primary rifle is a 457 due to the fact large bear Packs of white wolf Daypacks work well I prefer some thing that’s going to keep me safe in case something happens at $700 for a backpack quite evident I’m not joking Of course I paid three I don’t see that price anymore I will be going with this gear more often I like the weight of the wool For the price Silence is deadly
0-40* FANTICS jacket and bibs cover it, @40-60* Stratus set - maybe just the jacket on the top end - equinox pant bottom but never both, and warm weather equinox and lightweight hoody. Everything else is just unnecessary.
Hi my name is David I’m from Watsonville ca we are huge fan of yours we do apologize for not staying on my game letting other people play me. David loves to get a duffle my suv was jacked and we just tracked it down around marlin I’m thing of driving out to pick up rang rover my self because I’ll have to pay 2000$ to get it back out to Watsonville California plus towing and gate fees We have a baby mix fox and Pom who would love running around so if you have the time I’ll love to meet up grab dinner and go over some game plans for me We only heard from you though email one time I’ll take it as no if we don’t hear with in a week with respect and sending you love

Another good video you’ve help me out with my gear this year. North Carolina

Celsius Midi has been key to my Virginia hunts this season. Thanks for the great videos.
Is it quiet enough to be worn as an outer layer?

Just added the Equinox Hoodie to my closet for a starter piece in the cold Iowa weather!
Me too. I love it here in Illinois. Makes all the difference as a layer or by itself.
Awesome review I am new to Sitka and this helped a ton thank you so much !!!!

Southern Oklahoma, love the videos! This channel is really helpful on picking out different systems to hunt in.
You making videos still? I've always enjoyed your videos, very informative. I am curious about the new Incinerator bibs/jacket
Really appreciate your knowledge and suggestions. Helps give me ideas for my Missouri hunts.
Where do you hubristic in Missouri?

If your feet are cold, put on a hat. If you're already wearing one, you probably need a warmer hat
Use powder in your boots and antiperspirant on your feet. Crazy but it works!!
Breakdown was great, Thank-you-Bill from PA
man thank you so much for making these videos for us new to sitka gear and completely lost as what to get. Looking to start building my collection

Great review yet again. I am starting to get quite the collection of Sitka Gear for hunting here in Pa. Thank you for these reviews.
Everyone is different when it comes to cold.

Core lightweight top
Fanatic hoodie
Celsius midi
Fanatic jacket.

The only time I break out the fanatic bibs and Jacket It is once it gets below 10°. I am fine with layers on under my Stratus up until about 10°
Love the reviews man! Coming in from Virginia, picked up my Hudson jacket in marsh. Waiting for a review in the waders! 😁
PA! Supposed to be under 30 degrees tomorrow morning, fanatic hoody and an equinox hoody will get me very close. Gradient cold weather bibs too
Awesome outline on temps! Hanging out in the tress of Virginia.
Great advice, I'd like to see one for waterfowl. With both temperature and scenario. Could be a series of videos.
Your reviews are amazing, they have influenced the system I chose for KY whitetail hunting. I would like to see a Fanatic Lite jacket review.
Wisconsin boy here, but living in Indiana! I only have the heavyweight hoody on top, so need to get me a good versatile coat.
Can you do a review on the Downpour pants and jacket please?
I just saved 50 on some of the under layer Al’s sporting goods I believe it’s one of the hooded fleece lined which will go great under my browning hunting jacket I primarily use Marino wool but with a $50 savings and the reviews I couldn’t pass it up at 1:50
would you do a comparison of merino vs non merino?
New to the channel really like how you break it all down! Where is the best place to buy Sitka?
Any chance you could do a video on putting together a pronghorn system?
for tree stand hunting the mid west during the rut, what next to skin base layers to you recommend. Im trying to decide between synthetic and merino and light medium heavy? thanks!
I’d start with core lightweight and build on top of that. Most likely core lightweight then a fanatic hoody (core heavy weight)
Love the videos, Pennsylvania
Thanks for all the helpful reviews!

Iowa, love the videos!
What is that little lightweight bag you pulled hats and gloves out of looks like you have a few of them
You should do this for waterfowl

11:58 I thought you were going to say "I just basically put on everything i own" lol
The midi pants paired with the stratus pants? Did you size up in the status pants or is their enough room to run true size on both?
Thanks for the video. Illinois.

Can you do a Sitka blind bad review?
Just curious I know you made a video on the vest but in your opinion is the Dakota vest pretty warm for how light it is?
It’s not heavy , it’s a great wind stopper outer layer. The wader pockets are a big selling point for me
@@fieldseriesreview awesome! I’m really trying to decide the Dakota vs Fahrenheit. I just wish the Fahrenheit had wader pockets
i want a pant and outer later for archery in pa, what should i get. I was looking at the equinox pant and hoodie
Can you do a video like this but for duck hunting?
Do you deal at all with KUIU gear, because I was wondering about the best system for whitetail with KUIU.
How do you wear your Hudson bibs as waders? Very interested
Is the Celsius Midi material quiet enough to be worn as an outer layer?
Would you be able to help me choose my Sitka whitetail setup?
Hit me up on IG
can you do what you’d where during turkey season?
I love Sitka!
I will never wear anything else for whitetail hunting
Do you have the Fanatic Lite Bib ?
0-40* FANTICS jacket and bibs cover it, @40-60* Stratus set - maybe just the jacket on the top end - equinox pant bottom but never both, and warm weather equinox and lightweight hoody. Everything else is just unnecessary.
No Celsius jack
