Early 90’s skis rocked a lot of pink and purple! I’m ashamed to say my first ski was a 1992 SeaDoo GTX with a bright pink hood and purple vinyl seat covers. Not sure what 80’s skis looked like.
@@badm0t0rf1ng3r those hulls were like bathtubs! So smooth on the bottom and nearly chineless! I used to whip that thing into spins at wide open throttle! Hahahaha I loved it! I have always dreamed of engine swapping a newer supercharged 4tec engine into one of those older 3 seater hulls. GTX, GTI, GTS they all had that smooth bottom. They were comfortable though and handled the Chip surprisingly well!
yeah. they got it wrong. that's a dual carb muscle ski (75hp) from back in the day..... EDIT: actually the duals were rated at 85hp. Not slow. Let's see JSBs pin the throttle on it!
@@badm0t0rf1ng3r I heard those tr1 engines are pretty good. Do they have the reduction gear built into them like the mr1 engines in the older vx110 skis?
SWEET !! Really excited to see some footage from the heli camera mount ! Looks like it needs some work on the set up, but still some really cool footage. It's really cool to get those perspective shots of Jacob riding and have the shot moving around. Love it. That 750 sounds great. I love the crisp sound and it is pretty surprising that it isn't super loud with just that resonator on there. Great build ... I think this one is a winner. It's not as "crazy" as some builds, but it's a nice clean daily shredder. Hope to see more of this as the weather / water warms up. Also, thanks for the shout outs, friends !
Yeah the camera thing was great! Not bad for the first try with it. With some better set up it will be really cool! Just need all the other skis to come together like this one!
@@Jacobskibros Yeah, I think you did a great job with it for a first go, for sure. I feel it's more... personal or friendly ... like, instead of just seeing what your seeing, or where you're pointing the camera, we see you. It's also easier to tell that you're shredding as you can see lean angles and body position. How did you feel riding with the camera? I know at first I was kinda paying attention to what it was doing and getting distracted.... and then after a while I just forgot about it and did my thing. It's kinda weird having something moving around your head randomly while you're trying to do something, haha.
@@JoelArseneaultRUclips I didn't pay any attention to it. I was just trying to shred a little to get as good a shot as I could. I think it's great. Actually Josh set it all up so I don't really know.
@@JoelArseneaultRUclips I remember you talking about this in the past and I think it has a counterweight across from the camera but I couldn't help but wonder if you could mount two cameras one on each end?
@@rickems8863 Yes. I made this one, and future versions so that two cameras can be mounted. I think that's how Josh has it set up in the clips from it, based on how he edited it.
Awesome shred session there. I am looking forward to getting out here shortly also. Great build with an awesome return it seems. Sounded great when it was hitting those RPM's!!!!! Also, here take some of these Kudos on the ride plate as it seems to hook up great!!
Thanks for the kudos. I just welded a piece of ride plate on that was just laying around and it was great. I don't think you really can rip on a 750 with the stock ride plate. I can't wait to really hit some buoys and hopefully get an 800sxr out at the same time.
I didn't notice this dropped earlier today but now that I've watched it I'm stoked to see the Sunday upload but also Jacob videos with the huge Plus now you've had the Joe Arsenal point of view camera set up. win , win ,win .... I wonder if you guys can do side by side footage both angles?
Love the videos. Great job on the jet trim! I have a 94 750sx that porpoises like crazy if I go much over 1/3 throttle. Got any tips for making it ride better?
The color scheme on that ski is fantastic, Barbie or not! It’s like the small dog of skis to where girls will like that you have one but also want it for themselves
When you got this thing together for the first time what size Jets did you have to run with that pipe set up ? any help would be appreciated thanks in advance
I just picked one up in Tampa off of craigslist for $125!! Needed a pump rebuild and the carbs cleaned. Its almost identical down to the 1" hole in the side.
I'm pretty jealous of that, haha. I just tried to get another X2 hull... damaged with no engine, and the guy wanted $1250. haha. The price for stuff here in Canada is a little nuts at the moment.
@@JoelArseneaultRUclips Yes, it was a score for sure. Every now and again if you are obsessively looking, the deals pop up, but I am seeing the same prices down here as you are up there. kind of ridiculous.
