Finally, a "human" giving a review and actually showing how the unit works rather than a digital voice just providing standard features from the Rove website. Nice work. I have this dash cam and you hit all the points perfectly. Well done!
Hello Very nice video. Question about power. it looks like you are using USB to power instead of cigarette lighter. I have a usb connector and my other dash cam always thinks it is hooked up to computer when connected to usb power instead of cig lighter power. It looks from your video when power is supplied it just starts up and starts recording. This is what I am looking for. is this the way it acts.
Thank you for your comment! Yes, I was using an external battery and plugged the dash cam in via the 12v cigg. socket. It powers straight up like it would if in a car. If you plug it in via a USB connector, it will not power up like a car but only as a computer because USB connector cannot power it up enough to run I believe which is why it has to be 12V power. USB can only offer 5V of power. Blessings.
It's included in this camera kit/bundle. I put the links in the description where to find it. It's called a hardwiring kit to directly connect it to your car battery. Cheers!
It all depends on how much memory space you have. It's always better to have higher resolution and frame rate but that eats a ton of memory space which reduces the amount of video time you can capture before the card is full and is written over (loop recording). 4k 60fps would be ideal but huge files. 1080p at 60 is good enough. But there's really no problem just using 1080p 30fps too.
right? what is the point of getting the 4K if you arent using it. use 4k and if something does happen you can press that middle button to save the current loop video.
Have the same cam and it won't connect to the app. I literally have tried everything, short of wiping the phone. Hate I paid for so much for all the accessories and its useless. Thinking of throwing it in the trash and start over.
which app did you download? Also be sure that you have turned on the wifi settings in the dash cam otherwise it can't connect. Connect to "ROVE R2-4K" wifi, then enter the default password which is: 12345678. Then "JOIN" the network. Now open the Rove App - once camera is connected to ROVE wifi the camera will sync automatically and you can see live video feed from the camera on the ROVE App. Also for Android phones: there is one extra step you will have to take. Once you connect to ROVE R2-4K wifi, it will say "No Internet" which is fine. You just have to tap on the pop up notification that will show up in a few seconds to select that you still want to stay connected even though there is NO internet. Once you select this OK, you are set to go.

God bless thank you!
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful.
thank you Osirus
A really nice little dash cam! If you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer. Cheers
does it work wireless
yes, it has 2.4 ghz wifi connection or 5G to pair with your smartphone
@@breakaway2x so you can turn it on without a cord ?
No, he means you can connect to your phone wirelessly via WiFi. The dash cam needs to be connected via cable for power always. @@blendzblenndz7983

Hi. Can you turn off the speed stamp on video but keep gps?
Yes, go through the menus and adjust things to how you want them. User Manual is very detailed as well.
Everyone says, "you'll need hardware to set up parking mode recording" but never explains what hardware or where to get it?

@@breakaway2x ah ok, i appreciate it :)
The cam don’t connect with app on iPhone 15 pro max
what iOS are you using? It requires 15.6 or later. Also check to see if you can update the firmware.
You prefer 1080 60 on a dash cam that goes up to 4k 30? You even prefer it over 2k 60? Why?
