Hi to check whether your x7 has the factory dashcam just keep the camera button on the left of your gearlever pushed down for three-four seconds. If you have it, the iDrive will ask if you want to start recording. You will then have footage starting 20 seconds or so before you pressed the button plus 20 seconds afterward. This is manual mode. In case of an accident I believe it records automatically. If you don’t have it you might be able to purchase this function as a bmw app.
@@SimpleCarGuy no i just watch your video quality section. Cant read license plates, traffic signs blury at times even store banners unreadable. not unusual for any dashcam. most off them are shyte for capturing details.
Crazy price for such features plus SD card. Now wondering if it will withstand the Heat in summer.

Question is can you read the license plates? Unless you are close to the front car, I dont think you can easily read them
Great review! Thanks for posting.
Excellent review! Thank you!
So i hardwired the camera. When i turn off the car the camera stays on the whole time. Do you know what setting i need to have it on
Can you split screen carplay and mirror at the same time?
For example, mirror the phone screen on one side and carplay maps on the other side.
debating between this and the R3. I dont really care about the cabin cam of the R3, and since this does 4k, this seems better, and slightly cheaper.
