    What if my college only offers lower-level A&P classes? The only upper-level class they offer is called animal physiology but for the general A&P it’s lower-level only.

    I’m currently working at a private family practice and we see patients from 2 to over 100 years old. Since they prefer a student to have experience in at least 3 different types of practices, where else would you recommend?

    I'm a Spanish speaker and have 2 years of experience as a optician and now I'm considering going to optometry school. But I didn't do well in community college 3 years ago when I went so I feel as though applying would be pointless

    THAAAAAAAAAAAnk You Khan, Seriously thanks. I was in middle of my studying, trying to find a supplemental video for Stoichiometry from chemistry, and find this. So helpful. Although, it gave me stress because of my GPA and being in community college. However, it motivate me alot. that if I finish my OAT great at the end of july. there is a hope to be there. Pray for me to see you in future. thanks again. thank you Mr Tate. I hope I get the same call that you get khan.

    Question! And i know it varies by school. But generally, do prerequisites expire for OD programs? I have taken most of my prereqs when I was dual enrolled in high school. I finished my bachelors, became an optician, but now really anticipating taking the next step and wanting to finally apply for optometry school! Any help would be appreciated ❤️

      I believe 5 years but you may want to reach out to admission or Optomcas to double check! I’m not too sure

    Hi Khanh. I am confused about 2 majors which are Biological Science, Concentration in Molecular Biology, and Chemistry, Concentration in Biochemistry. What is major you recommend Bio or Chem to go optometry school. Which is better? Thank you!

    Hey Khanh! Does UH require you to complete a bachelor's for admission or just complete the prerequisites and 90-credits?

  • @evanandersen64

    What!!!!! You majored in bio and not one A&P class? I am in a two year Radiographer program at a "Community College" and A&P is required.

    • @KhanhTon

      That’s the case for a lot of universities. We are able to choose what upper level courses to take and I chose things that sounded interesting. It’s not that much of a surprise

    What is best to do in order to gain experience in the optometry field? Since he said they look for applicants with experience.

    • @issasecretsecret7814
      @issasecretsecret7814 4 года назад +1

      shadowing an optometrist, working for one, etc. most pre-health professions are big on gaining experience by having their applicants shadow

    What AP classes should i take in highschool and how many should i take for Optometry?

    • @otiebrown9999

      Get through college first.

    • @flanagamer
      @flanagamer 4 года назад +3

      I wouldn’t worry too much about high school AP classes, I was a terrible student in high school and never took AP classes but I’ve been getting mostly A’s in college thus far. College is completely different than high school, remember that. If you’re dead set on taking AP classes I’d recommend chemistry & calculus for sure.

    • @Devilsfannumber30
      @Devilsfannumber30 4 года назад +2

      Tbh taking AP language has helped a lot because I was able to skip 3 pre req courses in English at university and focus on bio, chemistry, and physics instead.

    • @issasecretsecret7814
      @issasecretsecret7814 4 года назад +3

      Maya Papaya honestly they dont care about AP for english and other GRE. But AP for sciences is a big no. They would rather see how you do in college as for taking your STEM classes
