Question of the DAY! : Did you find this video helpful and do you have any other questions about optometry or ophthalmology?
Urself optomerist or opthalmologist ?!
Can you refer a book for occupational optometry sir?
Definitely going to get the one of binocular vision and visual perception its one of my faves 😁
Congrats again Dr A on publishing about Retinal infections!🙏🤩🥰💖👌
I work as a technician for a small optometric practice. Aside from the AOA study materials, what other books/guides do you recommend for staff who are in process of becoming a CPO? 😊 Thanks so much in advance and for all the detailed videos you provide!
This vedio was one of the most favorite of your vedios. It's good to know how your informative knowledges were accumulated. Seeing your worn out books, we really appreciate your efforts and sharing your precious knowledges. 😁Thank u. Thank u. I'd Never take for granted. すご〜い!感謝です。🙇🙇🙇
Thank you so much! Yes these books have gotten a LOT of use. I am just nerdy enough I still fall asleep most nights re-reading some chapters.
It’s good start about how to start learning about 👁 eye care!!
Thanks dr Joo!!
Thanks Joseph! I hope to get a little more out some time soon.
Clinical contact lens practice books were the most interesting especially polymer science, optics, and fitting irregular corneas.
Clinical Manual of Contact Lenses is my fav book!
Hello dear Doctor, I've recently been interested in visual optics and optometry, for beginners, which of these above-mentioned books do you recommend?
I want those books....the science nerd love reading about eye stuff. Any books on contact lens practice?
Glaucoma sucks. Lost my eye 6 years ago due to it. My doctor said it was the worst case he had ever seen. I had 2 tubes in my eye and had 8 surgeries on It. I just wanted to say much respect for what you do. Its so hard. Respect
Thank you for your support! Sorry to hear about your eye. That has to be tough. Are you no light perception then? do you still have the eye or a prosthetic?
@@DoctorEyeHealth prosthetic
@@realyzzue9430do you know what is reason lease tell me ?
Are you boy or girl ?
Is that because screens?😢
I have a lot of pain everytume I go to my doctor she say you are ok ???!
I had to changed my eye doctor this year
Sir if someone has refractive error, does he/she has chances to improve her vision.
Thank you so much. Very helpful!
Sorry not entirely related here but I was put into progressive lenes and multifocal contacts. I could not get used to the whole multifocal contact thing so the doctor was forced to put me back in regular contacts. I only wear contacts like 3x a week at max. Question is are waring progressive glasses witch I dont have a problem with and occasionally non multifocal contacts once in a while gonna cause any issues? My doctor said no, but hes a little quirky so since I have been watching your channel I figured I would ask...also I did not see any videos on progressive lenses or multifocal contacts...unless I missed them? Can you do one on that subject? Thanks, I enjoy you channel, keep it up!
Thank you so much! To answer your question, there theoretically should be no problem switching back and forth. Did you try mono-vision contacts?
I plan to post a video soon on multifocal contacts soon!
Will you do a video about rebranded contact lenses?
eg: Coopervision MyDay vs Specsavers Linarial
are they actually the same thing?
they do cost less from Specsavers and in a daily run, you can save quite a bit
Thats a really good idea! thank you. I have a whole series on contacts coming within the next few weeks so that is another one to put on the list.
@@DoctorEyeHealth GOOD !!!!! now get more subscribers !!!!!! also, will one of your new contacts video be about all different kind of toric lens technology ? some have laser marks all over, like which one and i following ?..... i will wait and try get more contacts people to follow
Just started optometry this autumn. Best decision of my life. It's incredibly interesting.

Syafiq Kusni Ok im opth resident and i have exam for entering board what do u suggest to read for pass : wills or duker or kanski or what?
Should i start the latest edition or the edition that you’ve read?
I am interested to order WILLS EYE MANUAL. where can we order that SIR?
Ok im opth resident and i have exam for entering board what do u suggest to read for pass : wills or duker or kanski or ?
So tempted to get laser eye surgery. Here in the UK IV been for a consultation and they said I'm suitable for it. Have you ever heard of LASIK iDesign? It's more expensive than standard LASIK.
I also want to know why Doctors and opticians have not done laser surgery themselves? Is there a hidden negative behind it?
I have not heard specifically about LASIK iDesign, It may just be custom lasik (corrected for aberrations). I know several doctors who have had LASIK and love it. I personally have not had it because I have dry eye symptoms already, I do great with contacts, and I have a family history of glaucoma. What else is holding you back?
Do you guys get the new revised textbooks when they come out or keep the old ones?
Up
For the first-year student, what do you advise to focus on more
Anatomy and physiology. If you can get these two down solid the next few years are SOO much easier. But if you had to pick one book that will help you the most throughout school and your career. Wills Eye manual.
Sir is there any book available for Community Ophthalmology?
I'm an Optometry stu and this video was really helpful to me Thanks🌻
I really love all those books !!!
In science,
Read "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions", by Thomas Kuhn.
thanks for sharing
For glaucoma which is better for diagnosis and treatment optometrist or opthmologist
Both are competent. Keep in mind there may some variability based on training/specialty. If unsure if a clinic manages glaucoma, you can always call and check ahead of time. Some clinics don't manage glaucoma.
Please could you comment and share information on the condition called Corneal Epithelial and Basement Membrane Dysstrophy
Thank you
Doc any recommendations to cure my Astigmatism without going to a LASIK Surgery. Thanks
PRK or interocular lens surgery. You cannot cure astigmatism without surgery. You can correct it though with glasses or contact lenses if you don't want surgery,.
You forgot to mention that the Ophthalmology text retails for 350 dollars. Whew!
yeah...medical books are usually not very cheap
oooh I'd like to see a video about optical illusions!!
me too!! That video may be tough haha!
Sir I need Mitchell sheimann and Bruce wik 's book of clinical management of binocular vision review questions book

Did you use Kanski much?
I did! Very similar to Yanoff and Duker but I personally don't own the textbook.
Have you read that text?
Ya I recently got it on my phone and it's really accessible for showing patients eye conditions. Also was invaluable in my final exams. Great channel btw
Dont want to be an optometrist but im just curious
Thank you for the wonderful video!!!!!! Any tips to help me on my path to get as many subs as you??
Thank you so much !!!!
Hey happy to help! Thanks for commenting!
So! I have my copy of “The Wills Eyes Manual” and find it fascinating and hard to understand with the high level verbiage. Does it become easier to read with time or do you have another book recommendation?
Any free hardcopy available
The good news is most schools have book access to them. Or you can look into Clinical Key through Elsavier?? They have the books on digital copy and you can download the pdf of every chapter!

@@DoctorEyeHealth i want MCQ books for preparation of MOH exam
@@mariayasir7445 If i remember correctly, I used a kaplan prep course book. I also studied the MCAT test prep books. They usually have some self tests which may be similar style questions to the MOH exam.
I am doing optomerist 2yrs diploma in india.... I got job Or not
The job description and licensing of an “Optometrist” in India and other parts of the world is extremely different. In UK, US, Australia etc you generally need a Doctor of Optometry or Masters of Optometry to practice. In these countries, Optometrists are eye doctors who can diagnose eye conditions and prescribe medications independently. A 2 year diploma is definitely not enough because to get a Doctor of optometry as well as further cert in therapeutic drug use, you need around 7+ years of education.
The equivalent of an Optometry diploma in India is an Optical dispenser or optical technician. You’ll be able to work alongside optometrists but you won’t be able to work as an Optometrist yourself unless you complete the degree here.
His eyes tho. Its so beautiful 😧
Why your eyes are blue?? 🤔
By birth or any technique? 🤔
