this song is such an awesome change up from the others in the album. it starts off with the big rock guitar like so many of the others, but then it switches up and gets slow and emotional?? it’s so great!! and the lyrics, good lord do they cut right to my heart. also the subtle saxophone throughout the song is a masterful touch. the little solo at 1:54 is my favorite part of the instrumentation, but even when it isn’t at the forefront, its quiet presence adds a lot to the music. it creates that emotional, jazzy blues sound that matches the tragic lyrics perfectly, while also providing a really good contrast to the more bombastic guitar and drums. (also i’m a huge sucker for sax so yeah of course i have a ton to say abt it lol) the vocals are, with every song, top tier, but i especially love the ending to this one. it’s a fantastic culmination of everything it’s been building up to. more than any other part of the song, it sounds like *pleading*. the melody is kept up so well while also having those voice cracks that hit you so hard. God i love this song
