Every surgery I’ve had, they’ve always kept me an extra day bc of my shy bladder and not being able to go. They just didn’t understand the pressure. They say they aren’t waiting around for me (as in staying in the room) but I knew they were waiting to eventually record the amount so- same pressure. Not to mention, theyd straight catheter me if I didn’t go- which emptied anything I had and made it even more difficult to go 😞
*becomes the actual weird guy peeing directly next to someone instead of choosing the further urinal* 😂 but seriously love his tips! I struggle with this too as a female
Another bit of advice for people who have a serious case of Paruresis, learn the breath hold technique. For the rest of your life, until you are cured of this problem, exhale your breath and hold it when you urinate, even if you are at home alone and comfortable. If you exhale and hold it long enough without taking a breath, your body will force you to urinate. Now it does take some practice, if you end up failing to urinate before you gasp for air, just take a very short quick breath and exhale and continue trying. One good thing about this method is when you are really holding your breath long enough, I think your brain starts to stop comprehending that there are other people in the room, you kind of get into the zone. Trust me I've been suffering with this problem for more than 15 years and the breath hold is really starting to work for me, It's actually making me extremely happy.
Respect for risking being mocked and made fun of for the sake of talking about a genuinely real issue that a lot of people face. It takes professionalism to come on here and say what you’re saying.
@@Nat-jm9rq hey, i want to tell you that i have finished this problem (not fully but it worked, hope yours will solve too). When this problem was irritating me then i decided to pee and leave the door open to practice for not shying, so it would be the same condition as in public toilets. In the beginning urination didn't started and i was not feeling good but then I don't know why and how i put my hand on the wall and it started 😳. I was shocked, thinking how that happened and now i am very happy. I would suggest you to do the same thing.
i'm a girl and the only place where i can piss is at home. When i was on holiday i cried because i needed to pee so bad. YOU DONT UNDERSTAND I CANT GO TO THE TOILET IN PUBLIC EVEN IF PEOPLE ARENT THERE.
same here!! I got up really early in the morning and the house was dead silent. my bladder was so full and i just couldnt relax regardless of anything.
Biggest issue is me being in the military. We have to take an observed drug test once a month. So it's just me and one person and they're staring at me while I try to pee. It's awful.

What I'm about to do 2. I've got it pretty bad and it started as a teenager having to take drug test for probation. Now here I am as adult...lol stupid junk...also have hyperhydrosis....freaking arm pits sweat like no other...not matter what deodorant. I know it also has to do with anxiety. Weird thing is, I don't feel like I feel anxious but who knows, may have just got used to the feeling
How did u make it through basic without Constantly pissing your pants?? Please get back with me, this is the only thing holding me back from enlisting.
It's such a shame that society doesn't really care about people with social anxiety. People can lose their jobs, can't join the military or can't enjoy a picnic in the forest because of issues like shy bladder, and no one really bothers helpin these people. Society acts as if though the only issues would be around women rights and LGBTQ people, which is fine by me, but please, could we turn some attention to social anxiety as well?
I appreciate the tip a lot man! I'm 16 and i've had this problem since I was 11. I was previously put on probation and I was court ordered to pee and I couldn't. They forced me to drink water for almost 30 minutes straight and I still couldn't go. Long story short my judge wasn't very nice and locked me up overnight until I could pee. Even then I still couldn't pee and ended up messing up my bladder in the process. They ended up forcing me to say I did drugs when I didn't which is kinda messed up. I was 14 then and I think it caused some kind of trauma because now its hard to even pee in my own house. Again I appreciate the advice, for anyone that thinks their alone, just know you aren't.
Same situation right now, I’m facing 4 felonies for thc carts, I have tried countless times. I got a doctors note for the shy bladder condition, the judge denied it and told me today next time I’m required to pee and I don’t, I’ll be going back to jail. I stopped smoking and I don’t drink at all, I literally tried an alternative to show them I don’t do no drugs and I’m still denied. I hope the next time they call me I can or else the judge will throw me into jail for however long he wants, according to my attorney. I’ve tired many times already, I try to work them and unfortunately they don’t work with me. I’m literally about to move out at 18, I got a good thing going for me and now it’s going to all crash.
omg thank god you made this video unfortunately I currently suffer from pareusis or shy bladder and it just sucks, it limits so much of what you could do in life
I've heard it's more of a more of a male problem more than women, but I'm a female and I had the problem for 10 years almost...I never found it embarrassing to talk about but it's still difficult to get over, I ended up getting a bladder infection because of the problem last year. :( It started with me when I was 17 and a crap ton of girls would hang out in the bathroom and do their make up, they wouldn't leave!!!
I’ve had a shy bladder since I can remember being potty trained. I remember being a kid and having to run home from my friends houses just to use the bathroom at my own house. I still have a pretty shy bladder to this day
And it's funny how most people who have it get it as adults. When you're a kid, you don't even know that this could be a problem, you just go. Don't we all wish we could be as oblivious and stupid as a kid again?
I’m 38 and have had this since 2nd grade. Thanks for talking about this in a manner that more people can relate to. Most of the IPA Paruresis Workshops I’ve been to the guys have all been very beta types and refuse to believe this has anything to do with assertiveness. I also have social anxiety that I’ve worked on over the years and made good improvements. This though I find to be INTENSELY de-masculating and shameful feeling. Most guys are very competitive and anything that appears to be weakness is grounds for mocking or at the very least a reason for losing respect. That drives a lot of my fears around not peeing perfect or being able to at all. The Breath Hold does work for me under less intense circumstances. I usually blow out all my air as I’m about to walk into the bathroom so by the time I’m at the urinal I’m just about out of breath and when it works can do so quickly. I just hate this condition so very much. This year I made a promise to myself though to not put myself down when I can’t go or take too long or have a weak stream etc. I also am almost to the point of believing that to be successful I need to allow myself to start at the bottom where I will fail multiple times. I think for me giving myself permission to fail is huge.
i find it hard to pee in a bathroom / toilet the first time. much more difficult on coach buses or planes because of the motion. so when i board a plane or a train or a bus, i run to the bathroom and try to pee in it so it's not the first time anymore. but yeah the longer you wait to go, the worse it becomes wherever you are. Privacy definitely helps
I have to get drug tested occasionally for work and last time i got tested it took me like 5 mins of just awkwardly standing there before I could go, I had another one today and because of this video it took no more than 5 seconds. Thank you man!
I’ve had this since I was like 12, I’m 18 now almost 19 and it’s worse than ever. Got to the point to where I don’t wanna go anywhere because all I have is anxiety about it and that’s all I think about when I’m out. Mine varies depending on my mood. Sometimes I can go when there’s people in the bathroom with me. Sometimes I’m standing there myself thinking damn is something blocking my pee? Is there something medically wrong with me? And I end up not being able to go until later. And no tactic works for me except for just sitting down and waiting. Never had a job and never do anything anymore because of this. Really have no idea what to do...

Just fight it just go to the bathroom fuck everybody don’t damage your body for the sake of people try overcoming it day by day you need to work on that peeing should not raise your anxiety
I am now 30 years old struggling with this for over 20+ years. Even "professional" help and therapy etc is not yet working. Its getting very very very hard for me to keep going.
I think what most people don't understand is that often times "shy bladder" isn't about being afraid to pee in front of people. It's about being afraid NOT to pee in front of people. At my job, there is only one bathroom and it is a shared locker room style bathroom -- two stalls, one urinal. I used to think I could only go if I used the stall, because I felt that I had more privacy. But then I realized one day that in some cases the stall is worse, because it's actually more obvious when you're not able to pee, because of the lack of pee noise. At least with urinals, you can look like you're peeing (silently) which buys you more time. I'd rather have a failed urinal attempt than a failed toilet attempt. So I at my job I always go for the urinal, but when someone is in the stall trying to go number 2, I just can't go... even at the urinal. Because that's double whammy. Not only am I trying to go and get out for my own sake, but I'm trying to go and get out for the person in the stall's sake... so they can continue crapping in peace. So there is so much pressure to hurry up. The other day I had to go so bad, and rushed into the bathroom, but there was someone in there trying to do his thing... (he was in there forever!!). And I couldn't go... until he left. I hate silence!! Every bathroom should have white noise... I've tried a lot of different methods. Paying attention to my peeing, not paying attention my peeing (i.e. distracting myself sometimes by counting tiles or thinking of a math problem), sometimes I'll think of some good news that gets me happy, and that relaxes me. One thing I found to be helpful is counting down from 60. Because then it's like you're giving yourself plenty of time (but not too much time. If you can't go, you've only took a minute). Sometimes those work sometimes those don't. Not sure if I've tried the Eminem method yet. Funny enough, talking with people in the bathroom does help me (doesn't work for everyone). But really it seems like the more that is on the line, the less of a chance I have of going. I need to find a cure to this.. Some idea seem to work sometimes. But I need to find something that works every time, no matter what.

I'm in school still and I have this, and there's a limited amount of times you can go to the bathroom, so sometimes, I go to the bathroom. I'm all alone, I'm happy. So I go to a urinal. Then, before I can start, a guy walks in and goes right next to me. And they're like, taking their time peeing, taking their sweet time washing their hands (using like 57 3/36 gallons of water and 16 pounds of soap!). Then I picture in my head, the guy saying, "Why aren't you peeing? If you don't have to go, why'd oyu come here?" And it just makes me feel soooo uncomfortable! Then, I think to myself. *It's been like 6 minutes! If you don't get back, your teachers gonna KILL you!* So then, I quickly wash my hands (for no reason), and run back to class. Now I just can't focus because I'm so pissed off (no pun intended) that I couldn't pee, and I'll probably have to hold it in unril I get home, which isn't until a VERY long time. Thank you, bro. Thank you for giving me someone to tell you. Just wait until your channel goes uphill. You're off to a good start, you just earned one subscriber. :)
what used to work for me was repeating these words “no one can see me, no one can hear me” sometimes I’d cover my eyes or cover my ears. But that just doesn’t seem to work anymore..sometimes I can’t even go when I’m at home. Even if I’m home alone, it’s so embarrassing to have my friends come with me at school to the washroom and I can’t even go. And I can never go on demand, forcing it never works..and it sucks even if I feel like I really gotta go it just never works..and I’m not sure what caused the situation to start in the first place so it’s very hard to asses the situation and fix it. Because I’m not a super shy person..and I don’t care if other people can hear me while I’m using the washroom..so idk how to fix this..

Same for me, sometimes when I’m at home my brain is like: hey, you know what would be funny? If you also couldn’t pee here and just stand with your dick hovering in the air for 20 seconds

@@eric.rios2098 If someone talks to you, just look at them and say 'I'll pee wherever I want, whenever I want' and that will probably get rid of them haha
@@mengmar1 yeah you're right. It's just so uncomfortable hearing splashes of urine from someone who comes to urinal after you while yours still doesn't come
I just distract myself with math problems from things around the bathroom, just adding or multiplying the tiles and what not. Usually works so that's cool.
Finley Bentson I’ve done something similar. One time I had to piss at school (which was extremely rare) so bad that I couldn’t possibly hold it until I went home. So I went to the bathroom and ended up standing at the urinal for like a straight minute and nothing happened..So I looked up at the ceiling tiles and started to ‘analyze’ them in a sense. Then I actually started to go. It was the first time I used a public restroom in years, and it was a huge milestone. Sense then I’ve been getting better, but if I notice that I can’t go right away, I usually look around and distract myself with details. One that seems to work for me is I’ll look at the stamp on top of the urinal that says what company it was made by, and how much water it uses per flush. Sounds strange, but I think it’s because I then start to think about that gallon of water flowing, which is the oldest trick in the book, but does come in handy. I’ll also use my phone as a distraction, which seems to work well as an emergency backup
Wow - I came up with the same strategy a couple years ago. Thought I was the only one. Still can't pee when anyone else is around, but it helps me start the stream as quick as I can before anyone enters the bathroom.
It's a good technique by all means but for more severe pauretics I'd recommend gradual exposure therapy (80-90% success rate) or CBT or hypnotherapy. Mainly, just don't blame yourself because it makes you feel crap, it's not your fault, nobody blames themselves when scared of spiders or heights and this is the same.
I’ve always had a problem with shy peeing, ever since high school. I’m assuming that actually telling people ( the comments section) will hold me accountable to fixing this problem. I’m aware that there is nothing wrong with me and I refuse to leave somewhere without using the bathroom anymore. I strive to make myself better
Thaanks coach for this. It seems you're one of us trying to help and address this real issue without feeling of judging us. We can do it guys, the first step towards success is self acceptance, you need to recognize that you have this kind of problem, but the good thing is, it is curable and you're not alone in this journey, many of us understand exactly how you feel, ,always remember we don't choose to have this kind of psychological fear but with a lot of repetitions and exposure therapy, we can all get through this❤️🙏
Totally tried that before and the flushing thing works great. Kinda covers sounds so its easier to not be heard and sometimes ill flush twice if the first one didnt do it. Just say fuck it and do what helps. Doesnt matter what others see, hear, or think. Do whats good for you.

I have severe shy bladder, and most guys I've dated have not been able to understand why. If they try to enter the washroom, I will freak out, even with the tap on! One time my boyfriend began to tickle me (super ticklish) as I sat on the toilet, trying to pee, because he was painting and did not want to bother leaving the room. Needless to say I ended up peeing pretty quickly!
For whatever reason when I do this I get this over whelming feeling of confidence and even though it doesnt always work for me and may take like 20 seconds to begin it works 80% of the time for me.
Im a girl, and whenever i wanna go to the toilet my friends wanna come with me so i just cant pee. Its so annoying😩 They can pee when im with them but i just cant
Wait. Girls experience this too? I have this embarassing technique to pee in a public restroom; I look for an available cubicle and sit on the toilet and pee like girl. Works every time
I go to the gym 250 times each year, im in the best shape of my life, but over 1000 times now at that gym ive used the stall to pee instead of the urinal. Thanks for helping me be a bit more confident in myself man.
Nothings ever worked for me before and i've had this condition since I was probably 5 or 6 years old. That whole close your eyes hold your breathe, tell yourself you're gonna do it doesn't always work which is why I live the hermit life.
Thank you for sharing this. Your Eminem method almost made me cry, I've been suffering from this my whole life, can you imagine waiting in a long line at a festival, only to find yourself unable to urinate.I just just realized that for me, the main cause of shy bladder syndrome was the excessive anxiety and lots of childhood traumatic experiences caused by my parents.
This helpful tip may literally save my freedom. I have recently had a really hard time giving my probation officer a urine sample and as a result they booked me into jail. Now I have to do it again tomorrow and if I fail I go to jail even longer. I'm hoping and praying to god Ima be able to do this, so thank you very much for this video!
i can’t pee at my boyfriends house, when my sister is right next to me, sometimes even my own infant daughter next to me, and usually not in restaurants. even i have been drinking and have to urinate bad, it still often takes me an hour to get it out. it’s so hard to overcome. i always call it PEE ANXIETY instead of shy bladder, but either way I hope this work cuz this condition SUCKS. by the way, i am a naturally anxious but NOT SHY.

I never used to have an issue with it but developed the condition after a traumatic experience. Now I can’t pee unless I have complete privacy and even then I find it difficult if I know there are people around, waiting for me or there are any time constrains.
I’ve had this for about 3 years and I have a very bad case of it - not only if there’s anyone next to me but also if I know there’s anyone a few meters from me, even if there are doors between me and them and especially if I can hear them. When I pretend I’ve peed and wait it out, it’s all I can think about thereafter - I can’t work and I’m uncomfortable talking to people. Sometimes it has gotten so bad, that I’ve ended up leaving work in the middle of a busy day, just so I can pee at home and also to bruise my knuckles by hitting a wall with anger and with tears in my eyes. I have dozens of embarrassing stories like this. The only person I’ve told is my girlfriend a few days ago and now I have solving the problem as a goal in the next year - I will try peeing in front of her, I’ll tell my brother and a close friend about it no matter how embarrassing it is and ask them to help with this kind of exposure therapy; I will try out any tipps and tricks and if it doesn’t get better I will contact a therapist. Wish me luck.
@@jakejones9579 I'm 23. If I had a non-changing workplace and daily routine, maybe my problem wouldn't be that bad. Instead though I'm a student abroad so I regularly go to different buildings on campus, different airports, parties at different places etc. I literally must always go to different bathrooms so it's distracting and humiliating even when it isn't a total nightmare.
Listen, I just had the worst experience for a job drug test at a third party place who only gave me 20 seconds for the first attempt. Went out drank ten cups of water tried again...keep in mind if I don't pee I fail. Second attempt after about 2-3 minutes of the worst anxiety I ever experienced with the 2 woman right outside telling me to give up and saying I need to come out I was able to fill the cup just to the line thank God. With the two ladies outside worrying that I'm a drug addict doing something sketchy yelling at me from right outside I'm surprised I was able to pee a little. One of the most stressful anxious humiliating situations I've ever been in. Effing terrible! Need to give this a try.
Its silly isnt it, even after a full body check of no concealment they want to physically be in the room with you in Australia or else jam their foot in the door and still annoy you from outside LOL, no compassion
When i was a kid i did not have this problem, it began when i was older, im 33 now, when i think im starting to grow out of it or get over it, the fear rises up again. Its frustrating because i know that every living thing does this multiple times a day, and its a normal bodily function, and i felt alone with this for a very long time. I think its very strange why so many people struggle with this same fear. Fear is necessary for survival but phobias like this debilitate ones life and can cause sever loneliness and isolation. Fear is evils way of controlling people and keeping them in a low vibration. We malfunction in a state of unnecessary fear. When in the vibration of love we function at our optimum potential, nothing can stop you, especially going to the bathroom. I think this phobia is psychologically and emotionally contagious, this is why so many of us dont know how this happened to us. Bc i was fine the first half of my life, then out of nowhere, this became an issue for me

I can't wait to try this tomorrow when i go to my screening. I just lost a high paying job because they were watching me urinate into a cup. The guy was ok with me having a shy bladder he actually encourage me to turn the water on which was nice of him but i still couldn't go HR said i couldn't do it by myself so i lost the job went home depressed as fuck and ashamed of myself. Hopefully this works for me tomorrow i never was a shy person growing up and iam not sure when or why this started. Thank you so much for your advice😁👍 wish me luck on pissing where ever i want
I’m 17 an I have shy bladder. I’m in a program that has the WORST bathroom policy for this issue. You have to bring 2 “buddies” as well as a staff to SUPERVISE the bathroom. I just end up holding it all day because I don’t even have the time to experiment with these techniques.
Isn't it a sub-conscious thing, though? It's not a conscious thought like being able to move your arm no matter who is around. Even if you're she or embarrassed you can still move your arm. Don't you have to get into your sub-conscious to fix it? I think mine comes from my shooting and training and mindset. I'm a second amendment got, always ready, always prepared, always alert. And when I'm using the bathroom with other people, I feel vulnerable and open to attack, and that has gotten into my sub-conscious where I can relax that much when other people are around. I can jump out of an airplane. Gone 195mph on a motorcycle, adrenaline junkie, you dare me, I'll do it. But then I get in a crowded bathroom, and I can't. Lol. Stupidest thing. I'm better if there's music playing loud or something and I can go in a stall and usually go, because I know no one can hear.

I don't have this problem when I go #2 but I do for #1. What I will do is go in and sit in the toilet as if I'm going #2 because if I'm pooping I'm just going to go pee by default. But idk... doesn't work all the time. I heard holding your breath works too, but not for me.
Went to meps for the military, couldn’t pee, just standing there holding my penis in my hand waiting to pee. Tried three times was so embarrassed. I’ve been having my brother and father stand next to me while I pee. This video was really supportive. I’m going back to meps in 4 days.
I tried it before lol the minutes the pee started to come down dude next to me started to pee like a fountain and my piss ran back up in me bruh lolllll.. I only got like 3 drops out.. When he left I let so much pee out it probably cud have fill a gallon
I don't use drugs but have to take a drug test every month. I have the worst shy bladder ever so the only way possible to get through this is for me to pee in a container and then have to pour it out into the drug test cup. Its my pee, but if they catch me doing this, I will lose my job and it will cause all sorts of problems. I have tried doctors, online gurus, and even a hypnotist but nothing works! This sucks and I am out of ideas. I would literally pa someone $100,000 if they could cure me of this!

I really don't care at all what people think, my bladder literally has a mind of its own and won't go even at the thought of someone possibly being in the proximity. How do you solve this?
Same like ill be in school and the only person in there would leave then another 2 people come then they will leave the bathroom then a whole group of people come. THE THING I HATE THE MOST IS WHEN IM IN THE STALL AND SOMEONE IS WAITING FOR ME TO GET OUT
When I was a freshman in college I was on diversion and had to take daily drug tests. The first time it took me well over and hour and tons of cups of water. The man who was in the room freaked me out and I believe that’s when my issue started. I was able to pee normally for the remainder of diversion but since it has ended I can’t be with anyone in line of sight of me. I’m 26 now and it really bugs me. At least I’m not alone.
I had such an extreme case where I called the ambulance. Turned out I had a big prostate cyst. It was fixed but I still have that problem. If I think about this situation I get into panic and think my bladder will explode.

i have bladder shyness to the point that I cant use the bathroom in my own home. I resulted to drug use for this problem. and worst of all since getting sober it is worse. of course ive always been a shy person. and I have crippling anxiety I use to chew my fingers as a nervous tick. and I actually have to cath myself from time to time. I actually get catheters and nothing is wrong with my bladder physically. I cant pee with anyone near. even my parents sometimes. some days r worse then other. i wonder if i could be hypnotized like on the movie office space. for me its when i feel someone is waiting on me. i cant have friends over because of this. i am the most bladder shy person in history i promise u. ive dealt with this my whole life. ive never used a urinal in my life.

@@GetMoreConfidence thanks I appreciate the response. if u are not as bad as me then I maybe wouldn't do the catheter thing. but ive been to emergency room like 5+ times so they just taught me how to do that. and it actually doesn't hurt really of course it doesn't feel good. but if ur as bad as me it really does help. I have had heard of people as bad as me also though. like having to have my parents leave the house so I could. but I read somewhere that this guy said he had to do that at one point. have people leave his house. but the weird thing with me is it sometimes feels like I have to go when I really don't. like the more I have to pee the harder it is for me to go. and that doesn't make any sense.
@@Red-xg2ym its not too bad. it doesnt hurt like u would think. much better then having ur prostate checked. but its maybe a little sting. but if u cant pee i wont hesitate.
I’ve had this for years and it’s terrible. There was a time i had less problems with peeing on public toilets but somehow i started to overthink it again and it resulted in getting back to how i was; having huge problems peeing somewhere that’s not at home. The feeling of someone waiting on me or presence makes my bladder just block and it’s disturbing my daily life. The feeling of needing to pee soooo bad and you just can’t pee and leave the toilet is horrible and painful. You can’t enjoy anything with that weight of piss inside your bladder😭😭😭😭

This happened to me a few years ago. I don't know how or why, it just happened one day. I think it's the area, because it doesn't have to be someone near me, if it's at a new place I sometimes can't start.
I had no problem till my girlfriend’s friend mentioned she learned about a condition 1 in 3 men have shy bladder. I couldn’t pee in public after that. That was 29 years ago. Still can’t

This just started happening to me . About two years ago I went to meps and couldn’t pee so they told me to drink more water then try again and they’ll know I’ll go. No one understands when I say I can’t pee it doesn’t mean I don’t have to go. Most the time I have to go pretty bad. But my bladder just won’t allow it. So they made me wait then had me try again and I still couldn’t go. The lady watching me take the drug test walked off for a moment then I was able to go. Peeing in front of someone was always something I had trouble with. But I think this led to a more severe case because now I can’t go in public restrooms even in the privacy of a stall. Needless to say I didn’t join the marines because of how much anxiety that small situation gave me. People who never had this happen just will never understand how internally damaging it can be mentally. Then when I think about not being able to go and having to have a job where I can’t go home to pee just stresses me out. Definitely will try technique though , will try almost anything to get away from this problem
For people who didn't know you can be officially diagnosed with Shy Bladder, this makes it so when you are in a circumstance where you are forced to pee (drug tests), you have a permit that makes it possible for you to have more privacy.
I have this. Not really badly, like I can go to almost every public bathrooms as long as I don’t have a friend waiting for me. Sometimes I can go even thought someone is waiting for me. But recently I was on a school trip and there were 2 toilets for 15 ppl and the teacher was yelling “HURRY UP” and my classmates were saying “what are you doing in here hurry up” and there was no privacy and so I failed, and it was a real nightmare.
When I was a teenager I used to be able to go sometimes with little tricks like this, but it's gotten worse and worse and worse, to the point now where I have to plan out and find 1 person bathrooms (with a lock) everywhere i go. This all started when i was 15 and i walked into a crowded restroom at a drive in theater, there was a line, when it was finally my time i went in the stall, and it was taking a bit longer but it started going but then someone banged on the door and it stopped. Then i couldn't go anymore. I feel like if i never went to the movies that day that wouldn't have happened.
Sometimes it's strange what triggers us. If this goes deeper than a few distraction tricks I strongly recommend you find a competent therapist in your area and make this a thing of the past once and for all. Your best life is just ahead!
@@GetMoreConfidence Thanks! I've heard that getting hypnotized has helped some people, do you think that's a logical option or just some voo doo nonsense?

What have you done? I'm in a similar situation to you, and want to fix it in some way. Can you get it diagnosed as a medical condition? And do they recognise it?
Rappers care what everyone thinks of them lol, it's why they push that "I don't care what you think of me" mentality so much. Eminem is the biggest one I know of, he'll release a 'soft' album talking about his insecurities, and his feelings of failure (recovery or revival) followed by a more defensive album criticising his critics for thinking he's gone soft (MMLP2 and kamikaze.)
I don't feel "shy" when trying to pee in a public bathroom or outside, I just can't do it. I feel the weight of my urine in my bladder, but it feels like I have a cap in my bladder that prevents me from urinating. I can only pee in home and public toilet seats and nowhere else.

Idk if it works but I was told to try this: count in your head backwards by sevens from a hundred backwards. 100, 93, 86, 79... Etc. Supposedly it takes just enough thinking to distract you into peeing.
I'm 34, and yes, I am on probation for a DUI, I literally have anxiety attacks before going to give a Urine Analysis every month. Even though I'm not worried about giving a dirty urine to my PO, it literally takes me an extra 30mins in the building and trying to pee like 5x until I can finally go. It sucks soo bad. Especially when he's standing right behind you!

A good tip is by sitting down, i have a shy bladder and every time i get in public and need to pee and i can't i just sit down and that actually realeses the pressure Edit: I was at a party where there was alchohol and at first i needed to pee but when i became really drunk i could just pee without anything bothering me
I refuse to sit down on a public toilet seat. like i'm not gonna set my butt cheeks on a nasty toilet seat that hundreds of other dudes also sat on. and most of the time there's pee on it too
I was at an extremely crowded sports bar recently. I get terrible stage fright at urnials and stressed out, queuing for the cubicles was a pain in the arse ppl thought I was a coke head. I am going to try this technique next time with 100% ferocity.
It's a very uncomfortable situation... In simple words what we have to do is to divert our mind from peeing... Like u thinkin of eminem. His attitude.. And not of how much time u have been there or are people watching.... It's the only way.. Like thinking of something else
That was a good one. Also, it helps a lot, if you raise your hand and show your middle finger thinking " F*ck off everybody, I am peeing and give no sh*t for anything". No, seriously... it boosts your confidence
I have bladder shyness. I remember years ago when, I was in the working world. I used to have to take urine tests and, it was a nightmare. But I got it done by drinking tons of water . Here is the funny part . I could go into any airport or rest room and urinate in front of people, but take urine test with someone looking at me . It was a mission but I got it done .it's that anxiety thing, thinking if I don't piss I don't get job . One thing we don't realize this is human nature to piss. I started to think what's worst . A doctor sticking is fingers uo my rear end checking my prostate or urinating in front of someone? Prostate exam to me is much more embarrassing. Since I own my own business I don't have that problem no more .

"Is he peeing yet?" "Wtf is wrong with this guy?" Thank God I'm not alone in this
You are definitely not alone. Many people suffer with this.
Uh huh
Same
Every surgery I’ve had, they’ve always kept me an extra day bc of my shy bladder and not being able to go.
Thank you

It's such a shame that society doesn't really care about people with social anxiety. People can lose their jobs, can't join the military or can't enjoy a picnic in the forest because of issues like shy bladder, and no one really bothers helpin these people. Society acts as if though the only issues would be around women rights and LGBTQ people, which is fine by me, but please, could we turn some attention to social anxiety as well?
That's my entire mission.
@@GetMoreConfidence Thank you man, good to know that there are people out there trying to make a difference!
Holy fuck man, the world is so god damn cruel.
I'm sorry you went through this. It's one of my biggest fears too.
Same thing for me on probation when I was younger. They always think you are just lying too.
Sorry to hear that .. sounds cruel
I’m literally about to move out at 18, I got a good thing going for me and now it’s going to all crash.
omg thank god you made this video unfortunately I currently suffer from pareusis or shy bladder and it just sucks, it limits so much of what you could do in life
PRoPreferred55 same here
PRoPreferred55 me too, can't take long trips 😞 my gf might leave me for that reason
It is a huge problem for me.
That sure would help, wouldn't it?
Yeah I wish, when I was little it was so easy
Exact feeling i often get
I first got it when I was like 8. It changed my whole life, and most of my anxiety is based around it.lolll i wish i was a kid again so bad
ARTVID-19 lol same, have you noticed that alcohol takes away like 85-90% of it or is it just me?
Definitely trying this til I get over shy bladder. Been dealing with this for pretty
much my whole life.
Let us know if it works for you!
Well did you do it? How did it went?

Get More Confidence yeah man probably gonna have to
how are you doing now?
Thank you for sharing this. There's no reason to continue to suffer with this. If the tips and tricks aren't enough I encourage you to seek out the assistance of a trained therapist in your area to free yourself from this once and for all and get on with enjoying life!

do you still find a solution? pls i am also struggling 😅

I just distract myself with math problems from things around the bathroom, just adding or multiplying the tiles and what not. Usually works so that's cool.
Nice, thank you for sharing this technique!
Distraction is key. I just imagine something else and forget about everything going on around me
It's a good technique by all means but for more severe pauretics I'd recommend gradual exposure therapy (80-90% success rate) or CBT or hypnotherapy. Mainly, just don't blame yourself because it makes you feel crap, it's not your fault, nobody blames themselves when scared of spiders or heights and this is the same.
Well said.
Keep up the great work!
Thaanks coach for this. It seems you're one of us trying to help and address this real issue without feeling of judging us. We can do it guys, the first step towards success is self acceptance, you need to recognize that you have this kind of problem, but the good thing is, it is curable and you're not alone in this journey, many of us understand exactly how you feel, ,always remember we don't choose to have this kind of psychological fear but with a lot of repetitions and exposure therapy, we can all get through this❤️🙏
It's so good to know your not alone and there are real men standing up and helping people like us out thank God for men like this.
Heres a couple tips
1. Flush toilet and try to hurry and pee before the toilet is silent
2. Use earphones
3. Hold your breath
Thanks for sharing!

Well...that's one way I guess!
I watch your video everytime I have to take a drug test at the methadone clinic I go to. And it works everytime. Thanks dude.
Thank you, that's so awesome to hear!
For whatever reason when I do this I get this over whelming feeling of confidence and even though it doesnt always work for me and may take like 20 seconds to begin it works 80% of the time for me.
Nvm, so far it working like 100% of the time. You have to say it like you really mean it and it works!
Great to hear!
Im a girl, and whenever i wanna go to the toilet my friends wanna come with me so i just cant pee. Its so annoying😩 They can pee when im with them but i just cant
You're not alone, that's not uncommon. You can change it if you wish though. Personal one-on-one therapy can do wonders.
Same!!! It’s like girl- can you not I need to take a piss
Also um there is a big gap in the bathrooms I can see the girls looking in the mirror from the crack in the door and I feel like there watching me-

That sucks. Sorry man. They need a better system for drug tests than having someone watch you.
i can’t pee at my boyfriends house, when my sister is right next to me, sometimes even my own infant daughter next to me, and usually not in restaurants. even i have been drinking and have to urinate bad, it still often takes me an hour to get it out. it’s so hard to overcome. i always call it PEE ANXIETY instead of shy bladder, but either way I hope this work cuz this condition SUCKS. by the way, i am a naturally anxious but NOT SHY.

Same shit happened to me man what did they tell you when you got the the ER because they were absolutely no help for me at all
I never used to have an issue with it but developed the condition after a traumatic experience.

Need to give this a try.
that has to be illegal..
Its silly isnt it, even after a full body check of no concealment they want to physically be in the room with you in Australia or else jam their foot in the door and still annoy you from outside LOL, no compassion
Yikes!

Same like ill be in school and the only person in there would leave then another 2 people come then they will leave the bathroom then a whole group of people come. THE THING I HATE THE MOST IS WHEN IM IN THE STALL AND SOMEONE IS WAITING FOR ME TO GET OUT
For sure!
When I was a freshman in college I was on diversion and had to take daily drug tests. The first time it took me well over and hour and tons of cups of water. Your not alone. I go into tears every time this happens because I start getting so mad at myself

@@GetMoreConfidence that's good and all, but I'm 16. Tomorrow I have to ride to North Dakota, which is 27 hours away from me. I could die.

Same just same I hate it
@Jesse Delorme i'm much better now. I practiced the breath holding technique and now i have no problems.
Out of context, this is HILARIOUS. Thanks though, I'm gonna try this!
:)
A good tip is by sitting down, i have a shy bladder and every time i get in public and need to pee and i can't i just sit down and that actually realeses the pressure
Edit: I was at a party where there was alchohol and at first i needed to pee but when i became really drunk i could just pee without anything bothering me
Thank you for sharing!
I refuse to sit down on a public toilet seat. like i'm not gonna set my butt cheeks on a nasty toilet seat that hundreds of other dudes also sat on. and most of the time there's pee on it too
the tips for taking a drug test with a shy bladder has helped so much, before i couldn't pee in public bathrooms
So you found a solution?
I tried this once, just today.. It worked immediately. Thank you!
Awesome!
I was at an extremely crowded sports bar recently. I get terrible stage fright at urnials and stressed out, queuing for the cubicles was a pain in the arse ppl thought I was a coke head. I am going to try this technique next time with 100% ferocity.
More power to you my friend! Let me know how it goes.
It's a very uncomfortable situation... In simple words what we have to do is to divert our mind from peeing... Like u thinkin of eminem. His attitude.. And not of how much time u have been there or are people watching.... It's the only way.. Like thinking of something else
That can certainly work for some.
Thanks it works am in the hospital going true leg 🦵 pain can’t pee after watching this i pee 🤒
Wow, great results1
That was a good one. Also, it helps a lot, if you raise your hand and show your middle finger thinking " F*ck off everybody, I am peeing and give no sh*t for anything". No, seriously... it boosts your confidence
Love the attitude!
Imma just scream “THIS IS MY BATHROOM BITCH” everywhere I go
Lol. This guy is exactly right. That is how your brain thinks it is going on and everyone is listening. Lol. He's so right.
