I think I get it. The old lady keeps things people consider 'trash' like the used cans. A lot of times people look at Homeless people like trash. The girl was homeless, thus 'trash', yet the old woman loved her and took her in anyway. Am I right or completely off? XD

the old woman could have just ask the girl to come with her... but well it's more adventurous this way of course
I believe the old woman wanted the girl to take the journey with the cans to test her and see if she was smart, brave, and kind enough to deal with the cans. You can clearly see the girl saving the cans from being crushed because she sees them as sentient living beings they are and not trash.
I actually think that the can wanted her to come in rather than the old lady

I think she died out in the cold. That place with the old lady is heaven, where she will always be fed, loved, and taken care of.

9/10. Animation is a little bit off, there were some too long to show moments like her facial expressions. Other than that, the animation was flawless, there was a perfect capture of emotions and there was creativity with the cans. A story told without a voice is the best story as one would say and this film proves that point true. Story line is short, simple, and amazing. All in all, as long as the film had less focus on how long the camera was on her reactions to things, I would've given this film a 10/10
The sound effects were also a bit off

Here is the story
The girl was homeless , she wanted to celebrate Christmas cause she drew Christmas tree behind her hard paper box and also within it.
She helped that lady as a good deed and lost her shelter in doing so.
Then that old lady told her cans to get the girl to her home so she can stay there......hehehe ......idk

+sam hackett It is actually a Christian holiday for the birth of Christ. However it was modified in some ways to convince pagans to accept it as a replacement for their older holiday. It appears to have it's date set to pave over a pagan holiday instead of going for the actual birth date and it took a few items like the Yule tree.

I'll give it a 10. It makes me think of a younger, homeless version of Willow Rosenberg on a magical adventure to find a new home.
It was just a can, but it belonged to the older woman. The girl didn't have to return the can but she did. And when the older woman saw what the girl had done, she knew the girl had a good heart.
It took the cans a bit to overcome the girl's fear at seeing living cans, but with a bit of an adventure, they finally arrived at the girl's new home.
Best film ever made
