Different colors, perhaps Raw Umber or Yellow Ochre and Burnt Sienna, and much more conservative, light washes. You can use the same layering and texture application, though!
I wouldn't have tried to paint a wash over furry detail but obviously it works beautifully. Great little Pom.
Yes! The only caveat is that you must use only transparent (as opposed to semi-transparent) colors for this to work. :-)

i've been wanting to paint my own pomeranian but he's very light coloured.. very light tan over white. would you have tips for a very light pom?
