Thank you ! These videos are very helpful. You are great at explaining in a slow, careful manner.

I have been following along for a couple of weeks for an overview. I plan to sit down with my two models and walk through each series. Thanks for producing such high-value content videos Scott.

In the video you enter the frequency > long hold FW to save. Then you go on to make more configuration changes. Those were the changes that wouldn't save for me. What worked for me was making all my setting changes FIRST (frequency, CTCSS, offset etc.) THEN long holding FW to save and choosing my channel.

Thank you for the video! I have a question for everyone. Can this radio do "split" TX/RX tones, e.g. CTCSS#1/CTCSS#2 or DCS/CTCSS? Looks like the FT-65 can do the former but not the latter. So I was wondering about the FT-60.

My radio keeps going back to a positive offset and losing the 103.5Hz CTCSS freq every time I turn it off. It's driving me nuts. I've gone through the setup multiple times following everything exactly. Radio works great, I can hit the repeater but the second I turn the radio off all it saves is the channel name and freq. Nothing else.

I’m wanting to get a mobile radio before the election but not sure what to get. Any recommendations?

If you're new to radio, this is not the radio for you. It's a great radio but lacks some of the user friendly features for new radio guys that are found on newer radios. The Yaesu FT-65 is currently my #1 choice for new guys. I did a video on this subject that can be found here - ruclips.net/video/q_IzdxfoLi0/видео.htmlsi=wL_V7sXfuprDx9Jy . If you are not a licensed Ham radio person, then GMRS would be the quickest way in. For that, the best HT you can currently get is the Wouxun KG-935G. Hope this helps.

@ I have a YAESU vx 6r which I like. Still learning a lot about it. I keep watching your videos on it. I’m wanting to get a better mobile unit that would more than likely stay in the house 90% of the time. I’m not licensed yet but looking to get all the gear while I can still find it. Price isn’t really an issue just want something that will be good for future use. So I can communicate with family if I’m at work and cellphones are down.
