Hell ye! thanks 😀
Can’t wait to try it out, gonna be epic!
Can now confirm. its very epic..
I was thinking this should be possible :) - Thank you for verifying - Good job!
Hi ! Thank you for watching 💪 glad i gave you reassurance on it ! Feel free to subscribe and like !
Great video and information
Glad it was helpful 👍 consider leaving a like
That’s awesome brotha way to think outside the box! 🤙🤙🤙
Hell ye dude 1650 doesnt even heat up. Dont know the why people complain about heat
@@Sheldinator yea I think it just depends on your style of bashing, for guys like us who do alot of jumps and stunts couple rocket fans and were gold, the people that complain are usually who rip through big open fields full throttle, that will def heat up the motor, I don’t bash like that so I don’t have issues with most motors🤙🤙🤙
@@omega_rc yesterday i was giving alot of bashing just jumping and afterwards doing speedruns. I spent 6 hours yesterday bashing. Obviously i did stop the truck to change batteries and have talks with my buddies but didnt go over 40 degrees. Most of the time it was around 35
I am trying to look for the right video, but can somebody tell me would you recommend doing this if you only take your x max out? Immaculate condition I have had this vehicle for three months. The only things I haven’t done is the gearing up to date and the motor mount say anything I have done it! Most of the car is aluminium with the original motor and the original ESC immaculate condition!
@@TRPAL_MOTOR Hi TRPAL, stock xmaxx is already one of the best rc cars out their, if you wish to upgrade, this is a good option but not necessary
@Sheldinator did u need any modification or additional shims/spacers to fit the stock rear endbell to the 1650kv? I have the firma 1250kv i believe they share the same internals
No spacers needed. Fits like a glove
Thanks for your genious idea, but I would like to know did you drill two holes on both front and back plates? If yes, how do you locate the holes and how deep did you drill?
BTW, is the motor still waterproof after drilling? Your answering is appreciated.
Take off the plate from the motor and drill just enough for the rubber to hold onto the motor, no need to go all the way through.
@@Sheldinator I'm still prompting to know how to accurately locate two protrusions of the rubber motor mount on the plate of the motor? Hope I make myself clear.
Did your hobby wing motor have the temp sensor plug on the rear plate because that’s the only kind I can find anywhere just making sure your fix doesn’t only work on v1 and the changed the design
Yes it had it before, but i removed it. Its pointless if your not using traxxas esc.
This doesn’t work with the new 1650kv g2 motor. It’s longer and not a easy swap.
Great idea! What happens if you want to run a bigger pinion though?
Hey buddy ! Works just the same as the stock one. You can still move it left and right. Thanks for watching, please a like and subscribe to see a special unboxing coming up 💪
I literally just ordered the max6/1650kv combo 2 hours ago. Bought a aftermarket aluminum mount with it. Wish I would have seen this a bit earlier 😂
@@bryantlaprade8477 ye much less hastle with this mount cause truck would be much lighter and mount doesnt bend like metal motor mounts on high impacts, especially skateparks.
appreciate the video but i still don't understand what you did with the pins on the front motor mount piece
Simple just drilled two holes in the hobbywing motor plate to match the traxxas mount. Compare the traxxas motor next to the hobbywing one. Youl understand better. I can help you if you have questions
Cool video and info
Thanks for the feedback. Like and subscribe if your new 🤘
@@Sheldinator you're welcome
Subbed you awhile back , you have great vids 🤘🏻
@@kaosr.c really appretiate the kind words 💪
So the motor is only held into the mount with 1 screw tho right? Or am i missing something?
Its held from both sides with one screw and then mounted with 4 screws from the bottom like stock mount system. Its basically almost exactly like setting the mount on the stock motor but on the 1650 kv instead. Just a bit more tideous to put on but works perfect.
What size fan’s brother!?😮
Stock size
Hey thanks for the reply! One more question… the temp sensor on the back of the 1650kv what u do cut the cables? Just cap them?
BTW SUBSCRIBED!
Is it a 4990??
Hi Brandon! can size is 4985. leave a like and subscribe if your new would be awesome help for this channel :)
This doesn’t work with the new 1650kv g2 motor. It’s longer and not a easy swap.
You can still do this using other brands of motors such as castle and rocket motors.
@@Sheldinator for sure. I still did it it with the g2 but I had to do a bunch of cutting modifying and dodgey things that will most likely come back and bite me with a snapped motor shaft. One way to find out though right.
@@1999ekk24 ye its alot of trail and error when it comes to custom stuff unfortunately
