Yes, but you need the Max 6 to gear up the Xmaxx. The stock Xmaxx ESC is garbage TBH. Actually the stock ESC on the Outcast 8s is very good. Some people run 25/47 gearing with no issues.
@@joseCalderon1976 Totally agree. Im pretty sure the Spektrum ESC on the Outcast is a rebranded Max6. Find the Max6 to be such a great ESC especially for the price

would you be interested in making another video with this setup on an xmaxx? but not in the rain to see speedruns on tarmac and offroad? iv ordered the gearing and max 6 and am wondering to see what it would do compared to my stock xmaxx. thanks
Tires really become the limiting aspect, they really balloon and make the car hard to control, this gearing would be good for around 53 mph on hard surface
I recently got a max 5 and 800kv for my Xmaxx. Bought Xmaxx used. No clue what gearing need to check. It doesn’t even like doing wheelies really 😂. May stick that max5 on their with stock motor and see how it goes.
Max5 will be ok on the stock motor, but ideally need a bigger motor for the Max5, that 800kv will be crazy, if on stock motor go to 20/50 gearing and it will wheelie for sure
Watch a NEW with a new X max I’m really trying to sell myself on maybe getting one LOL but it looks like it was a slick one out there that day the rain always makes it tough.

20/50 does liven the truck up, we started on 19/50 and then went to 20/50 - our Xmaxx is pretty much stock, the only non stock bits are the RPM hubs and RPM hinge pins
Which country are you in ? the spur gear is made by GDS Racing and comes from china, normally find it on Ebay search GDS Racing Spur, any good quality MOD1 hardened steel pinion will do with a 5mm hole
Hey guys can anyone suggest a cool build. I am new to this and have a stock xmaxx. I would like to get a little more speed and dont really "bash" that hard. Yes I drive it on dirt/snow/grass/mud but dont do huge jumps constantly. I want to do the widemaxx kit and figured while I do that maybe install a Max6 ESC and do the 50/20 gearing. Can anyone suggest anything else I should be looking to change or provide links for the gearing and esc. Thanks so much and what a fun hobby this is turning into!
For me the key to the Xmaxx is to keep it as stock as possible, once you start adding to many mods and weight it will start to break as its not be designed to carry loads more weight. The above being said putting a Max6 and going with the 20/50 gears will really liven the car up from stock - would highly recommend the GDS spur and pinion - should be able to get these off of Ebay, i would also recommend the RPM hinge pins - two sets put one in the lower outer front and then in all three of the rear. Depending on how old your Xmaxx is you may also need the newer Hubs with the bigger bearings, you will soon know as the older Xmaxx with smaller bearings the shield would just fall out and sit on the drive shaft. The video briefly goes over the upgrades we have done: ruclips.net/video/jHnlIvEN0wg/видео.html

Avoid the stock gears they are made of monkey metal. Get Hot Racing 50 tooth spur and a GDS or good quality 20 tooth pinion, that will be plenty fast enough on the stock electronics

I don’t understand my x maxx does 50 all stock on gps running 18/46 which is geared less for top end than this one. Why is mine faster when he’s geared higher and has max 6?
