Just installed the CC 1717 1260kv with the WFO mini mount. Fits in perfect with my max6. Had to replace my stock motor after some garbage motor bearings I installed seized up and fried my motor. Was pretty pissed. Just FYI do not cheap out on motor bearings people.
I don't have alot of experience with high end electronics, but the 140amp Xerun XR8 SCT esc and 3660 motor combo and 120amp WP SCT 8 esc that I have been running have both exceeded my expectations. When I compared them to their competitors offerings with similar specs , the price difference was substantial. I am a fun loving basher , not a serious racer. So reliability and cost were my 2 primary deciding factors. I enjoy your content it comes across fair and thoughtful. Cheers 🤘
Nice EXO! Bare/anodized aluminum mount is the way to go.....hope WFO stays away from that insulating powder coat😎 This is the setup on my EXB along with a AGF-RC programmable 1/8 servo. Bash on!
For standing backflips.. Would i be better off buying the max6 w/ 1650kv motor combo.. or buying a standard 6s xmaxx motor and the max 6?? Hope you see this piece to all bathers and racers ✌
@@ExocagedRC Hi bud, Cool video ! Hope you see this... what would be the difference between this and the 6s xmaxx motor? Just because I don't want to pay traxxas prices if they both have the same capabilities. Thanks for the content 🙏 keep up the good work !
Quick question. Hopefully you see this. I put a Reefs Raw 500 in my XMaxx, it’s 25T just like the original but the spline isn’t as big around so the original servo horn doesn’t work. What would be the best replacement? Any metal replacement?
So which would be the best motor choice in your opinion for a light basher nothing insane I already have a max five do you think the 1650 motor the 1100 KV motor or maybe even the castle 1717
So is this motor mount mandatory for this motor? I was looking into the Max6/1650kv combo to maybe get some more speed out of the X-Maxx. Do you reckon the 46T spur with anything from 19 to 26T pinion would be do-able? I am really 'just' driving it on and offroad and try to avoid high risk jumps for now. I'd like to mess around with the gearing more, wondering if the 1650kv motor might be a bit too much to ask from such a high gearing..
Bandit Darville to fit any motor other than a traxxas motor in the Xmaxx you will need a mount. Also the 1100kv is also a beast. When he adjusts the mounts for production you’ll be able to run any ratio you want. He also has mod 1.5 gears for this motor.
How does this one stack up against the 5th scale motors you tested? Or better yet compared to the traxxas 6s motor? I used to run max6 on the traxxas 6s, it was a beast but it overheated like crazy on 8s.
well, this was on 8s and with a large pinion in heavy grass and the temps were fine so I'd have to say this is the better way to go if you don't want to go with the big motor, I like the big motors as well and will run them in the future but I think for being competitive the reduced weight of this would be a benefit.
If I recall correctly it lasted until I put it in another vehicle and over revved it on 8s and blew the magnets apart from the rotor. My fault on that.
@@ExocagedRC Thanks for the reply, I have purchased the Max 6 already but haven't the motor. I may just go with a stock Xmaxx 1275kv 8s motor. Thanks again. Love your videos.
Thanks for all the info on the different hobbywing set up. What would you recommend know that you have tested all 3of them. IAM looking for a strong bashing set up.
Exocaged RC is that a relieable setup? Or just the most powerful setup? In my opinion The 800kv is a bit too much for the X-maxx drivetrain. If I should go for a hobbywing bigblock I would go for the 1100kv or the 1650kv just to not push it over the edge. Which motor would you recommend for offroad/sand bashing? The 1100 or the 1650? With the max6 esc.
ISEE YOU depends on what you’re wanting to do with the truck. Many like the bigger 800kv more. I like the lower gearing and same top speeds of the 1100kv.
Is it just me, or all these videos with this set up don’t seem much faster than stock? You would think standing backflips and insane power? Am I wrong?
@@blue222g8 I just built a hobbywing max 5 800kv WFO D bore gears and a XLX2 belt drive 800kv. Not tested yet. I will post the XLX2 build by Sunday hopefully. Even though I think higher kv would be better. Trial and error!
@@SpeedSyko well the only thing I can see you have to keep an eye on is the temp but my 8s motor doesn't even start to get hot its barley even warms so I'm gonna give the old 1650 a go ! Great stuff mate I cant wait to see what it does this is another rout I could possibly take !
@@blue222g8 I know this is an older message, but I just came across it. I found the huge power blows up new stock tires with one trigger pull and does double standing backflips with the wheelie bar off and belted tires. With the heavy belted tires, jumping it on small ramps destroys a arms and suspension parts. FYI keeping it lighter with stock tires is were the sweet spot is on these. I didn’t want you to waste your money on a XLX2 build and be disappointed. Thanks blue!
Blows my mind that it runs that cool. The new g2 seems to be an incredible upgrade! I may go with the 1100 vs the 800.

This motor can take 8s? Because un The specifications puts 3-6s

Looks a nice set up that lads, the mount looks great, nice work 👍
That setup looked sick. I really like the max6 and that motor. Killing it bro I wanna see that thing making some jumps. Bash on 😎😎
Awesome video! Bryan has some awesome stuff from WFO racing. Great guy!
Great video. I bought the 800kv setup based on your other video!
nateyzf awesome. How’s it working out?
Awesome video hobby wing definitely has some wicked products that thing moves pretty good
Great video and great speed run

Man I love finding the parts that fell off!!! It’s such a good feeling to know your day isn’t over yet when you find it!! Great video!
I need ya buddy to come find all the little parts I have lost in the yard. Cannot believe he found that gear.
No kidding, i couldn't find one in front of my house until it completely rusted and left a stain on the street.
It was fate, lol
@@smiley37greg I even went over an area with a metal detector with no luck but let there be a tack in the carpet and I am sure to find that! :)
That grass looked really thick!!!😂😂😂
Isn't that 1650kv only rated for 6s? I blew one up on 8s....
That's was my question, what did u blow up the esc or motor or both

Awesome 👍🏾
A old speeder magnate is what I use when I lose stuff in the grass
Thank u for your videos. Ive watched them all. I just ordered the hobbywing 1650 motor hoping for standing backflips.
That may get it if geared right and it hooks up

So I wonder how long this 1650 will last on 8s?
Hobbywing states that this motor is 6s rated. Suprised to see it run on 8s! 😱
Great Lakes RC yep a 6S motor that took 8s nicely. The 6S thing is for warranty liability.

The metal UDR horn fits, some locals have made a normal horn work.

1100kv, way more durable and has good RPM
this combo any better than stock 1600kv motor and Max6 combo?
Man is that thick grass?
You’re in Jacksonville. Great
Exocaged RC, how about a link where i can buy that Fluke infrared temp gauge?
The stock motor and esc on 8s not powerful enough?
What we're running it on 6s or 8s?
Dont know if you did it, but i would fo a speed and temp comparison on 6s then 8s, find out whether or not it likes 8s more
This system and this truck are long gone now.
Lol ahh, i just picked up this system a couple days ago, its going in my cen racing reeper, just gotta solder plugs on tomorrow
Any other videos with the 1650kv motor? How did it hold up?
yeah I put it in the UDR "Big Block UDR" so far its been a solid motor and no issues at all
@@ExocagedRC Hey thanks for quick reply. Did you run it long in your xmaxx? I want to upgrade but I am worried about reliability.
Bro I really need your help in have the hobby wing 800kv max5 combo do I have to change the gears are can I run stock gears
You have to go mod 1.5
Mod 1.5 gears like a 25t pinion 30t spur

I test in an overgrown grass field so yeah, I'd add another 6-8mph for pavement, plus its geared stock as best I know.

Metal mount in a plastic chassis, toooo funny.
Joe Dirt lots of metal stuff mounted to plastic, don’t see what the big deal is.
You want your chassis to flex. You dont want your motor mount to flex
