- Why 5 Out Basketball Offences Destroy Zones, in this video I breakdown why I think the 5 out Basketball offense is a valid option to beat a zone defense. A 5 out Basketball Offense is able to stretch out a zone so that you can attack the gaps and get the ball into the pain for close shots but also for help defenders to kick out for a 3 point shot.

Teams I play against will not expand their zone if we go that wide. They take the approach that “you can’t hurt us from out there.”
then you better hurt them shooting 3s... or you can pass the ball quickly to create gaps in the zone to attack the basket
David played against a team who played zone like that and he had 9 threes and scored a total 39 points

I'd run a 5 wide (or 4 corners against a 1-3-1 to spread out the defense with fast passing

So a disciplined zone team can stop the 5 0. You will have to beat them with mid and long range shots.
either that or continue with quick crisp passes. Most teams (even advanced youth teams) will mess up after 3-4 passes
