  • While showcasing these beautiful Japanese vases from the Meiji Period, expert Andrew Mattijssen explains the cloisonné technique used to create the superb decorations on these vases. Both vases are in excellent, undamaged condition and would be an outstanding addition to any art collection!
    These vases, along with Asian paintings, sculptures and other works of art, will be up for auction during our Arts of the East: Asian Ceramics & Works of Art auction on June 15th 2022.

    Meiji Period (1868-1912), Japan
    Two splendid cloisonné-decorated vases. Each vase featuring a night heron on a tree branch. Workshop of Namikawa Sosuke (1847-1910).
    H 33,5 cm (or 38,5 cm including wooden stand)
