Shutter Island is an amazing movie. Ive recently watched it again, after knowing the ending, and the amount of clues Scorcese left was genius. Best movie ever.
Dennis Lehane left those clues behind. It's still a great movie based off his work. I did find it easy to figure out while reading it. Which didn't affect the fun factor to me but still was a give away before the end.

Good Will Hunting was their script. I don't know if it was their first? They haven't come out with anything nearly as good since. Very far from it which leads people to believe it wasn't written by them. Season 2 of The Wire was still great. Are TFA and Frozen really overrated? I feel like critical reception has turned on them over the years. They were popular when they came out, but they don't hold up on rewatch. The Irishman is a good movie with a few extremely obvious flaws (the actors are just too old), but if you're willing to overlook those flaws its an epic movie. E.T. and Saving Private Ryan are overrated in the same way all Spielberg movies are overrated- Spielberg is an extremely talented guy who caters to the mainstream because he has nothing to say.

I am not sure about exactly which parts you’re referring to as filler but I’m sure you’re right that much of the film could be cut down and the plot would be almost completely intact. For me I really found Pitt and DiCaprio’s characters and performances interesting enough that I didn’t care whether or not the overall story was being served by dude throwing Bruce Lee into a car or DiCaprio freaking out in that trailer after flubbing his lines. However, I’m sure if the motif and characters aren’t necessarily that interesting to you everything I just said is inconsequential. So I guess what I’m saying is I can see where someone would make that critique but I was bought in enough to enjoy many of those scenes you would cast to the editors waste basket.

Honestly Tarantino movies, while good, just have character in them that are so annoying to me. Since pulp fiction, Every character just monologues through the entire movie and for some reason people are blown away by us and consider it “gritty” and “real”. I don’t mind dialogue heavy movies, but my god some of the tings Tarantino makes his characters say just makes me roll my eyes so hard that I lose my contact lens behind my eye.

Honestly Tarantino movies, while good, just have character in them that are so annoying to me.
Since pulp fiction, Every character just monologues through the entire movie and for some reason people are blown away by us and consider it “gritty” and “real”.
I don’t mind dialogue heavy movies, but my god some of the tings Tarantino makes his characters say just makes me roll my eyes so hard that I lose my contact lens behind my eye.
FML I have similar top movies as Destiny. Maybe I need to change my movies 😭😭😭

Pulp Fiction take is 100% accurate. One of the most overhyped, overrated movies I've ever seen. Not even that good. Not sure why it is so iconic.
I love it. The non linear story. Great characters. I love the juxtaposition of abnormal, intense situations with Seinfeld-esque "conversations about nothing".
What it does it does great and I guess that just doesn't appeal to some people.

@abstractdaddy1384 constant jumping around on the time-line. Random moments where we cut away to see some stupid fire particles exploding for a couple seconds sprinkled all throughout the movie. Movie moves at breakneck pace with content that is mostly short bursts of exposition.
It's like taking Space Mountain through "It's A Small World."

Not at all. It's such a popular movie internationally. It's one of those movies they are always playing on TV as well.

The best heist movie is Heat (1995) hands down. Ocean 11 doesn’t come close to best heist movies
They’re very different. Ocean’s Eleven is more comedy/fun, Heat is a bit more serious
