What Lance is talking about at 1:26:00 regarding evolution and the advantages if altruism vs exploit is an interesting topic that can be explored in these two vidis by Primer:

Destiny has had a huge negative impact on online philosophical discussion. It's absurd, because he has engaged in a lot of philosophical discussion, and relies upon it (as we all do), yet he refers to it as garbage and mocks it constantly.

      How is that relevant?

@@legendary3952 The host of this show explained that he made a shirt in response to how people who talk about philosophy online have a demeaning nickname and are ridiculed for it. This is one thing that has contributed to that.

@@cloudoftime I actually never thought about that, wouldn’t be surprised if Destiny was a contributing factor. 🤔

@@truthovertea I have watched an embarrassingly large amount of his content. He ridicules philosophy, and people who talk about philosophy, constantly. Almost every time he touches on a philosophical topic he has to hedge what he says with some kind of negative comment or disgusted noise. And his audience picks up memes like cult members participating in a religious chant. Being that he is the preeminent "online debate master" his influence here is undeniable. It is without question, in my mind, that he can be pointed to as a significant contributor to this movement.

@@cloudoftime Haha yeah I have watched enough of him to have noticed that. It’s unfortunate this movement against philosophy has grown so much. It’s really apparent on TikTok 😢. Maybe I will make another shirt with Socrates or Plato Mortal Kombat KOing Destiny 😎
