- Plenty of films and movie franchises hide easter eggs, but Pixar takes it to another level. Pixar's Jonas Rivera reveals all of the secret references to Pixar movies hidden throughout their films. The twist is that all of these references were teasing Pixar movies that weren't even out yet. Since a Pixar movie can take upwards of 6 years to complete, there's plenty of crossover between productions. This creates the perfect opportunity for the studio to leave fun references in each of their films.

This is definitely going to be recommended to everyone in a few years at 3AM
Please stop following me, im scared
Nice to see in some other non anime related videos
I see you everywhere, we like the same content...
It’s creepy
Hello to the person who got this recommended at 3am
Have you seen where Justin Y is my guy?
So the 3 movies he produced are up, inside out and toy story 4. He really likes to play with our emotions.
underrated comment ^
I know... he should just start producing all the movies lol.
Bet he directed Soul too
Can we ask him why every Pixar mom is so THICC?
Lmao
lmaoo i just understood the joke.
Fun fact: The pixar movies are just "spot the pizza planet trucks" in disguise.
don't forget the pixar ball!
Except the Incredibles
fact
@@andjelkabanicevic2444 are you dumb half of the movies don’t even have the Pixar ball in it
@@jessiahbailey269 its in every pixar movie I remember seeing it but i forgot were it is
Mike and Sully panicking when Boo touches them is a future reference to how everyone reacts to people touching them during the lockdown.
Did Pixar predict the future?
Zlyntud Team Given they made Wall-E, I’d say yes.
@@aidanrogers4438 wait, oh no!
Nah the Simpson’s predicted it
Aidan Rogers I always thought that would happen lol 😂 wierd when I watched wall e I felt that would happen in the future anyone else ?
The Pizza Planet truck, A113, and the Pixar ball. The three legendary Pixar Easter eggs
Yes ma’am
Stop following me
earth. air. fire. water.
ball. number. truck. ratzenberger.
I see you everywhere!
Only easter egg i ever found myself was Pixar ball in Toy Story 1 because its so visible and obvious
See you all in 6 years when those future movies are hinting at other future movies
Hi
Your RUclips page is a big OOF
OMG you are everywhere
Just in a 23 mins he busted all the pixar theories we built for like a 10 years🤯 or something. Sick🤪
He didn't bust it? He even said let the fans to have their own conclusions on how these movies connect
I mean, the Pixar theory is dead on arrival anyway because the writers/creators themselves said that it would take a momentous amount of collaboration and would just be too much to keep up with.
@@azultarmizi Except that he essentially says that the theory isnt true, but it's fun to let the fans theorize.
I think Disney wants people to see the Easter eggs, it’s the reason why they put them in movies so people can see them
That’s just what they want you to think! They say they aren’t clever enough huh? “It’s all about misdirection!”
"If you look really close..." I'd NEVER catch these!
specifically the cockroach like who would catch that one lol
The only one was Nemo... years later
Any one else get teary eye watching him go through the different Pixar movies?
Noah Rod naw but I just felt hella old man...
Only you..
Crying comments always get many likes...
No
I find it fascinating how animation is also on a budget with “props”
Man hours of creation gets expensive!!
Yeah, in a real life movie set it would be cheaper just to buy factory made items to use as props but in an animated cgi movie every prop means an entire job order for a 3D sculptor
I guess there'd also be premade 3d models for purchase but it's harder when a movie is going for a certain look
simple... Time IS Money
Super Carlin Brothers, I am so sorry. 18:09
I came here to do the same! RIP Pixar’s Theory 😂
@@pablosirius5 Pixar theory still works tho. He said to let the fans to have their own conclusions. He doesn't dismiss the theory
Jay and Ben have even said, even if the movies aren't meant to all connect, it's still fun to try and make them fit. The Pixar Theory is not meant to be proven wrong, but to provide a challenge to figure out how every movie could fit the Pixar Theory.
@@jonathantefft2902 That's why it's a theory
Can we ask him why every Pixar mom is so THICC?
Lmao
childbirth? lol
donnateaparty no..lmao
Maybe not thick, but hour glass shape 100%
Andy's mom isn't, is she?
@Parvis Yeah. You see her quite a lot in Toy Story 3, when she's bugging Andy about tidying his room etc. She's quite thin.
9:37 “Newt Crossing... that sign is a reference to a film we were working on at the time, a film we decided to not put into production...for various reasons”.... were those “various reasons” perhaps Dreamwork’s Rango?
Cross universe referencing????
There is also a low budget animated film with a salamader. I cant remember the name for the life of me though. Idk who who makes it either. It was a toddlers film
Might be monster ink salamander story line..
Project Power is not a Disney movie. but there is a boy 'Newt' en he has a salamander on his door en on a note.
One of the reason is because of the movie "fantastic beast and where to find them..
I remember when I watched Zootopia as a kid, there was a scene where a weasel had copies of movies that hadn't even been concieved yet. One of such was, "Meowana", a direct reference to "Moana".
Yeah, Disney tends to do the Easter egg thing too. There are others, but the first one I can think of was in Aladdin when the sultan was playing with his little stacked animals, might be some familiar critters in that one.
Man, 2000 through 2010 was such a great time.
Are you telling me that Pixar theory is just a reusing of models?
Yep, basically
Yes
Poor guy writing the book
always has been
rip the dude that prob spent days thinking about the whole theory
Imagine how excited he was for the A113 easter eggs
It hurts how he never mentioned the ball with the star.
HURTS
omg okay i thought that reminded me of something like maybe toy story?? but idk haha, what was the reference?
everyone saw that one in toy story 1
@@LilKingler "The ball with the star" refers to the Luxo Ball, a ball that appears in nearly every film alongside the Pizza Planet Truck.
he didn't mention it because it isn't a reference to future movies
Going off topic?? I could listen to him ramble about Pixar all day 🥺
Crazy to think this guy shaped so many people’s childhoods and most people have no idea who he is.
Next video on ScreenRant:
*Easter eggs that were a nod to a future movie Pixar edition!*
Lol, yeah.
Hahahahahahahahaha that's only pixar
i love how this quarentine makes people bring them together via internet and how godamm many people that makes BRILLIANT!! and beautiful!! videos to make everyone happy. this is something that's gonna make me cry of happiness efter all this.
Moana is in monsters inc too. The drawing in the wall.
@@towhee100 yeah. that was cool!
We miss those outtakes at the end of movies like Bugs Life!!
I absolutely love Pixar! No other studio is like them.
This is amazing, thanks for sharing!
welcome
Those guitars behind him look really small.
Someone need to do this to all the MCU movies!!!
Stan lee cameos are pretty interesting too
This guy has waited so long to do this interview
Am i the only one looking for easter eggs in the background of his office?
Nope
Uuummm no..
"in the beginning we were really scrappy and reused a lot of assets..."
it became a pretty neat thing tho.
"We couldn't afford to put a real car in the movie so we reused an old one we had." How the Easter egg empire began.
1:48 WHAT WAS THAT SMILE
What if he set up some sort of Easter egg around that room for a future movie 👀
dam we need people looking everywhere
Look over him and beside him at the guitar
I thought exactly that.
@@inserttexthere1 that’s what I said! Either that or that dog in the painting
Coco 2 confirmed!
The movies he produced are some of my favorites!! And he looks like he thoroughly enjoys his job. Love it
I love how easter eggs to the employees turned into the “Pixar Universe” and “Every Pixar Movie is connected together” to fans
Interesting concept for a video, considering how much movie theories I've watched.
MatPat is tearing up
Dat Boi rip
The pizza truck definitely my favorite part!
I'd love this guy to go through "the Pixar theory" and confirm/debunk the theories
I wish he'd explain where the A113 Easter Egg in Monsters Inc. is.
I bet it’s on one of the hazmats
On one of the pillars inside the door vault of monsters inc, has the number reading A13, that's as close as it gets in that movie. Not all the movie have the direct A113 some are broken up and some don't have all the characters
The movie was left out of an official Pixar video pointing out the A113s, so I guess there isn't one.
Now I'm gonna scour Soul endlessly when it releases on Disney+ to see what's next! What have you unleashed Jonas?!
I watch lots of Pixar movies in cinemas so watching snippets of such nostalgic animations give out serious 'cinema feels'. I'm missing cinema time a lot ㅠㅜ
I love the fact that he admit they are scrappy and having troubling with budget
Aight, Monsters Inc. 2 is DEFINITELY confirmed.
Wait really?
these Easter eggs are just so fun to watch! i just love how much nostalgia its bringing back. i love Pixar so much! literally created my whole childhood
so nice seeing a childhood movie here lolol a bugs life is rarely mentioned
omg just realized pixar was my ENTIRE childhood i literally seen EVERY film a dozen times growing up gen z yet in a non english speaking country
Its amazing to think that almost all of these easter eggs were used in future movies and it really makes you think on what's next.
Exercise Challenge ✨
One squat every time he says "If you look closely" and "To keep the tradition alive"
now I want to see a breakdown of the antique shop and point out all of the easter eggs.
this video has made me unbelievably happy.
I always love going back and trying to find these little Easter eggs. Even in my 30’s, I still love Pixar. It always warms my heart when I see that pizza planet truck.
2000's Pixar just create instant childhood classics I love their movies so much. And props for Pixar for keeping their traditions alive and being fun.
_You have to honor the era_
Brave : *Pizza car*
5:40 there is another Easter egg leading up to Cars in this movie. Right when Helen turns on the rocket that Bob is holding if you look close you can see a model of Doc Hudson parked.
This was delightful. I love Pixar films and loved hearing an insider's explanation.
This was so nice cause it brought me back. I never realized Pixar was so important to my childhood. Thank you Pixar!
Do not cite the Deep Magic to me, Witch. I was there when it was written.
FOR NARNIA!!!
@@alexpayne1878 (and for Aslan)
So you’re saying that by looking to the most recent film we can guess what the next film is going to be? Yo this is epic
I think it says a lot to the thought and detail that they do put into the films that fans can make a reasonable timeline/universe around it.
This made me realize how much Pixar has been in my childhood
Drinking game: drink every time he says “keep the tradition alive”
Or something along the lines of, "this one is really near and dear to my heart"
Dude I’ve watched almost all of these movies multiple times and have never noticed any of these what in the world 🤦♂️
You need to watch again multiple times 😂
This is the definitive break down I needed my entire life.
This was HELLA cool to watch! Now I feel like binging every Pixar film in chronological order.
16:55
Pause, and look. There is a mike wazoski piñata, does this mean they are making a new monsters inc./ university???
16:55
The guy talking about Pixar's creative process and how not all the good ideas are being developed into movies, and the video cuts to the title card of Cars 2
Cars 2 is fun. I will never forget how much excited I was at the premiere. Probably my most anticipated film ever.
It was the worst Pixar movie. But remember Pixar movies are all SO GOOD that a mediocre one is automatically the worst.
@@edabakb Not for me. I know it's more childish and naive than most of the Pixar films, but it's fun to watch. Cars was the most influential franchise for me as a child. Most of the toys I used to play with were cars, and it's because of these two movies.
@@hristol7537 It's definitely subjective and absolutely okay to appreciate things others might not. Most people didn't like Onward either but it's my second fav now because I can relate to the characters more. Same with Monsters Uni. I love that movie!
seems like Jonas was involved with all the movies at Pixar that were especially emotional and heartfelt like Up and Inside Out. props for creating such amazing movies!
This is the coolest video that I didn't know I needed! Thanks Pixar for letting me grow up with these movies!
All I can say is thank you for creating my childhood
Anyone realize that on finding nemo, the dentist crazy child scene, it's the same girl in monster inc boo
I absolutely love this. Pixar’s will forever be my favourite screens to watch.
this is so awesome~ and im so happy for him...he's so happy to talk about all of this aw
Its cool that I am not watching this at screen rant or watch/miss mojo.
See you in 3 years when this is randomly recommended to everyone, if only we survive 2020 though.
Watching this was actually entertaining. Good job guys! 👌
I enjoyed watching every single minute of this
16:40 I also see Mike wizowski. Does this mean a third monsters Inc movie?
Honestly for the longest time I thought the Cars reference in The Incredibles was the blue Hudson hornet in the background of the final battle to represent Doc
i’m so happy that this popped up in my recommendation tab
Take a shot every time he says "if you look closely" 😂
Wait, every *SINGLE* one?!?!
No. 😭
Just watched incredibles and about to watch incredibles 2
They are both so good!
Matthew Vizian I know right, going to look out for the Easter eggs again!
It’s actually really great and we’re really proud of it.
this video makes me fell so nostalgic
He didn’t mention boo in toy story 4, hope monsters inc 2 comes out next year
OMG YESS
Somewhere else it explaind that boo was cuz the needed just a kid, and they have the drawings of boo. I love how he tells about that every drawings is in their computer and can be used for something else. They Just being easy but creative guys.
Mike was in the piñata rack so maybe
@@fabianacuna3403 i noticed that too omg
There’s a Disney+ series coming out
I like toy story I have collected most of the characters in toy story
That's compilation every body needed❤️

I wonder what the forward-facing easter egg in Soul is
It’s Luca
Coco was beautifully done, love the soundtrack
Are you dead or not!?!?

Great video. Love finding these easter eggs.
8:10 The infamous 'Pixar ball" is also visible at the bottom-right corner
Drinking game: take a shot every time he touches his glasses
Double shot every time he says “if you look closely”
Triple shot everytime he says "keep the tradition alive"
Quadruple shot everytime he says 'nod'.
Lmao I was LITERALLY going to comment this! I noticed it too 🤣🤣
the amount of nostalgia in this video:(
9:14 I'm sorry but the cut after he says "no" is HILARIOUS
