His whole facial structure changed- if you look at it by a side by side comparison you can see the notable differences, and there’s no way his bone structure just changed like that plastic surgery or not.
I love the original Sam B. This Sam B feels like a last minute fanservice thrown in. Sam B in name only. They should have saved him for the end and given him a badass entrance or something. Im pretty sure that's not Phil Lamarr...

In my honest opinion, Dead Island 2 didn't feel like a Dead Island game. It felt like they slapped the name onto a decent zombie game and added Sam B so it would get more attention. Because they rarely said anything about the other original survivors and he Sam B basically seemed Brand New considering he had a different Model, a different voice, and most of what he talked about was like new information. The World felt like kinda Resident Village (Where it's small areas that you come back to, to get loot you couldn't before) and the Side Quests (The ones I did anyways) felt like Dying Light (Where half or most seemed like a joke rather than being something worth actually doing) Overall it just didn't feel like Dead Island to me, But it was still a decent zombie game with a Fantastic gore system.
I kinda hate how he doesn't look his dead island counterpart at all. His old face looks dmx but his new face looks like Wesley snipes, I barely recognize him.

I just realize that’s Sam b has his bandana around his left wrist, and Sam would still be immune bc he has both variants the banoi and HELL-A variant ( note how he said he was starving after getting the shot, same thing that happened to our character when we come to instead of food we were eating zomb)
You know what? They could do this with a patch or an update... but I feel like if someone lowered the pitch on his vocals down literally a cent or two, it would sound a LOT more like the original VA. Idk, just an idea! It would be super easy too. You could bundle all the wav files together and do it pretty much in one go. Maybe it would take an hour? Everything is already mastered so if you wanted, IF it happened to change the audio quality in terms of frequency, you could modify the EQ on the master fader and adjust it from there... it might make it a bit bassier in tonality, so you could just decrease the lower frequency range slightly. Anyways, I may try this out just to see whats up. I think everything about his voice is pretty spot on except for the tone. & he looks more "modern" but hey, that's the life of a rapper... gotta keep up with the times. Think Lil Wayne for example. I miss the old Wayne forsure... but I guess the new kids wouldn't like him and probs call him an "old head" if he didn't switch it up unfortunately. :( LOL. Anyways, I'm just BS'ing randomly on here. According to some players who have 100% the game there are references and commentary mentioning there all alive just not together anymore and sam just happened to be in LA
It depends on who you ask tbh I've seen few people try and argue that all the original characters passed aside from the one you play as but others will argue that they survived based off nothing but Sam's demeanor alone and a couple words that literally have no direct implications as to wether or not anyone survived
When see Sam B alive i have a lot of question of which how he survive the boat when you guess when the door is about to open you hear a zombie starting to getting out since the mutated gas in the old bunker make them having a side effect in their immunity ability and at the ending we all think they turned into super zombie mutant.
Sam B is my favorite character I’ve only ever played him and while the change is not the worst thing I think the first really gave that one hit wonder washed up rapper trying to catch the spot light again feel better while the second gives more of a rapper who has retired from rapping, but has made #l countless times.
Still love that song to this day. Dead Island was the first game I bought with a job with my own money and that will always be near and dear to my heart.
I get the feeling that saving Trisha will be like the raptide situation instead of being a main game DLC It'll be a separate game also what if your character in DL2 comes across Javier from Escape Dead island on a boat you and some of the survivors can escape Hell A

I've seen people complain about his new look and voice, i figured it made sense if you chalk the differences up to the time skip. That after what he went through and after 17 years he may have lost alot of weight and lost the accent he'd had being away from home for so long.
I have so much respect for the long back story monolog. I really wish it was in the second game instead of the generic "fk with me and your head will be rolling" type sentences.

In-game journal in Dead Island 2, they mention other survivors also survive but live in others city

@@shirokatatsu5886 they didnt die so what happened at the end is that the mutagen made them enter rage mode but not controllable and they killed all the non immunes on the boat in dead island 2 Sam b says purna stopped talking to them after what happened on the boat

The only thing I don't understand; how could Sam B still turn when he is supposed to be immune to the virus? The characters did not turn or went beserk during the course of the previous games, and suddenly Sam B goes sick and started to turn? There was a fury mode in the previous games, but that was only temporarily.
It's because the virus is a sister version of the virus of dead island 1 it's different but semi immune to it he got bit multiple times
Hopefully we get dlc which reintroduces the old characters
I prefer the original Sam B
